I LOVE MY YAMAHA WR250R!

Had my 08 for a while now....I beat the piss out of it onroad and offroad, and it was my first offroad bike too so it took a pretty bad beating. I'm a pretty average offroad now and I just love this bike, I ride it to Uwharrie...screw around...then ride home. Sometimes I wish it was lighter for the real technical stuff but it's a dual sport not a dirt bike. Onroad the bikes a damn wheelie machine >:)

@TheNico9696 Difference between WR250R and F - the F is an enduro race bike. So it has short gearing and lower top speed (but gets there really quick). Also, the motor on the F is a race motor and needs a fair bit of maintenance, the R motor only needs an oil change every 5000km, oil filter 10,000km, and valve clearance adjustment every 40,000km. So, it's not quite as powerful as the F, but lasts a lot longer. Finally, the R is about 10kg heavier.

I've got this bike too and also in Northern Ca. Ride it in the dirt a lot. But it's also really fun on the street. The stock tires aren't bad as bad on the street as I thought they would be. Great ride BTW, really like the video down low.

Great video man. I ride out at French Gulch / East Fork Road all the time and have the exact same bike. Surprised we haven't bumped into each other. I have about 6000 miles on mine now. You make me wanna invest in a GoPro man.

@NoExhaustInMyBike 1) no, its quite frugal with fuel and doesn't burn oil like other thumpers, has the least amount of maint of any bike I have owned so far (almost twenty) 2) sure it can wheelie easily in lower gears 3) top speed is between 90 and 100 mph depending on wind, weight, weather, etc 4) EXCELLENT quality 5) even with the stock pipe, it has a beefy sound at low revs and sounds similar to the new R1 or motogp exhaust snarl at higher revs 6) It is the most fun machine I have ever rode

1: i have x, and it's fuel usage is around 3.8l/100km with driving around 110-120km/h, open roads.. oil minimal costs, repair service is on every 10.000km, on second (10k km) i changed chain and rear sprocket, on third, (20k km) candle? :D or something and air fulter

2: i can do wheelie starting in second gear.. up to 4. gear

3: 165km/h-170km/h

4:quality is EXCELLENT, my friend has also problems with his dt

GoPro Hero 5.0 wide...one was attached to my front brake master cylinder cap via sticky mount. and the other was attachead directly to left hand crank case via sticky mount. Yes, it stuck, even though the crank case cover was probably 200 degrees!

Yeah for some reason those stock tires end up being really good street tires actually. About a year ago I went on a street ride with some sport bike guys...when the road got really twisty (20-25mph turns) it seemed like I got a quarter mile away from them in about 8 corners. Great bike...go R

Go to 'Warp 9 Racing' they seem to have the best deals on rim, hub and spoke combos. they will sell you the rotors and sprockets complete and built on the wheel kit for a good deal.

Great vid man! I love angles where you can see the suspension work in the corners and such. I have the WR250X model, it is a blast to ride and it corners awesome. I am having a hard time trying to find some R tires and rims for it though, so that i can play off road more too.

hey chris, I was probably going about 70-80mph in the straits, and 60-65 in some of the corners. It is a great bike for the money. I love it and ride it all the time. it's certainly not a top fuel dragster, but fast enough to have fun on. It tops out at about 93 mph and is a hoot to ride. cya

Nice video! If you set your sound to LO it will be perfect! Your GoPro has a LO sound setting which will give you perfect sound even when mounted on your Yamaha. Try it...you will be so stoked!

Yeah i had my sound set to LO but, after i filmed i realized that my camera case wasn't locked shut all the way so you are hearing the camera vibrating in the case.
