I bought 2 Ugly Stik Lites from a online store. Both are the exact same models and one has the clear tip and the other doesn't. I called shakesphere and they didn't even know. How weird. They said it was not a defect though. so who knows.

ugly stiks are heavier than most rods. Tournament anglers fish all day. Lighter is better.

Ugly stiks are usually softer with a real good backbone, a great trait for crank bait fishing. Some pros still use it for this purpose because it suits it very well.

Ugly stiks are not as sensitive (to me) compared to higher end graphite rods.

Ugly sticks are the best rods for the beginning and average fisherman. Models available for every fish from a 2" bluegill to a world record Tuna.

Got the same pole. Oh man it amazing hooked a 5 pound largemouth that pole had no problems whatsover. Bent the pole in half dropped it layed it in the water. Its basically tank!

im yet to try it out but its light, flexible and has a hell of a backbone.

if its an ugly stik lite its an spinning , just check it our on their website I'm sure you could find it on their.

on the side opposite of the reel mount, there will be a finger hook for your index finger on a casting model. also the first guide on a spinning rod is much larger than the others.

You can tell if it is a spinning rod by the first eye (closest to where the reel is). If it is obviously much larger than therest of them it is a spinning rod. If it is almost the same size as the rest it is a casting rod.

i have around a grand invested in fishing rods everything from g loomis to shimano but i always go back to the good old uglystick. you can spend 40 bucks on a killer uglystick and that thing is gonna last you forever, you can lean it on the rocks and not worry about scratching some fancy rod. cheap and more reliable than any other rod in my opinion. only problem ive ever had is ive accidently casted off half my rod into a friends pond, ugly stik told me i need original receipt which i dont have

Ugly stick is good for your weekender going for catfish and carp. The ugly stick is not a very good rod for Bass and Crappie (In my opinion). They are not sensitive enough. Will you post a video of this rod not breaking in a car door ?
