my father is working with stained glass too! exept he is not painting the glass he is putting glass pieses together so they form a picture he learned me to make it too.
@antonio031490 LOL! *SHE* used a type of glass paint that is called REUSCHE. (Brand name) It is applied to the glass, worked, and then fired in a kiln. After firing, the paint is them bonded to the glass. It comes in powder form and you have to add a binder, such as gum arabic, and a vehicle. (water or vinegar) :-)
@Stardiwani I would have loved to show the final piece(s). Due to privacy issues (and you know people can be funny about that sort of thing) on all of these windows (these are dedication panels for a church), I felt that I couldn't show NAMES. I would have had to go through the trouble of having "releases" made up and signed and truthfully, I didn't want to bother the church members with it. :-) -Alayna
