By having military presence in the middle east and by 'liberating' them we can set up infrastructure which insures that the natural resources (like oil and opium) head in our direction and not Chinas. We were clearing out a hut that intel had said contained a collection of ieds
I fucked up, after kicking in the door, I rushed in and did't check my corners, a taliban took a shot at me but my sarge pushed me out the way and took the shot right in the chest. No 2nd thoughts just pure demenation. He saved my ass.
He was a great leader, and a terrfic ladies man. But most inportantly he was a friend. RIP Taylor

IMO we invade to prevent possible threats like China.. I believe we are in the middle east to control Chinas economic growth. By having military presence in the middle east and by 'liberating' them we can set up infrastructure which insures that the natural resources (like oil and opium) head in our direction and not Chinas. Also because oil is backed by US$ and the $ is the world reserve currency its essential to keep the $ and stop the Yuan becoming the new world reserve currency.

@brian21051 What the IRA and Sinn Fein need to do is stop trying to affect unification right now, and instead work on convincing the Northern Irish that unification would be good for them. It will probably take a few decades, but the message should eventually get through, and then unification could occur peacefully (I doubt Britain would fight unification very hard if the Northern Irish actually wanted it.) and without forcing the Northern Irish into a union that they don't want.
