@erwannbd Downhill is quite litlerally as it says, ie getting from the top of the hill to the bottom in an quick a time possible. Freeride is more about pulling impressive stunts such as jumps, drop-offs etc.

dude, yeah mountian biking is an expensive sport, but money doesn't mean you ride well. just cuz you have a 6000 dollar downhill bike does not mean you can huck yourself off of 10 foot drops. I have never had a downhill bike, I could only afford a trail bike to do xc and downhill both. It doesnt take green to ride hard, it takes balls and i doubt you have big enough ones to actually ride. now get the fuck off youtube, go make the money you are complaining about and go ride.

They use platform pedals because clip pedals are used mostly in endurance races, where pedalling is very intensive.

Freeride and downhill wouldn't be effective with clipless pedals, but more dangerous though.

If you've never tried clipless pedals in XC or Road, don't talk nonsenses, because some people may believe in this nonsense.
