@Anikan1005 I believe you need to ask your Internet Provider to help you set your modem into "bridged mode." When I contacted my ISP, they transferred me to a 3rd party support team that tried to charge me $50 for doing that. I'm giving AT&T U-verse a piece of my mind for not being able to help me with a problem that involves their own equipment.

@xiStealth HMM.. thats odd, the only thing i would suggest is try forwarding some ports. maybe the MW3 ports or other games you're having trouble with.

@MQMCANSUCKDICK This has happened to me aswell, and what you need to do is make sure you enter the correct username. i suggest calling your ISP and asking them, should only take a minute! Hope this helps.

First of all. if u have a modem and a wireless internet box u got 2 firewalls and it is one of those things that make it into nat type 3 i tried for 8 months and it wouldnt let me get nat type 2 so i bought a Modem/Wireless Internet box it meens that the modem and wireless internet box is in one box and then the firewall will not be so restricted because it is only one machine and it can work together so i will suggest that u go and buy an all new router For example NETGEAR VVG2000 (it works)

@WHITEDUIF That's correct my friend. If you keep getting NAT Type 3, then the problem is not your router, but your modem + router combination. I had a Motorola Modem and a Linksys Cisco Router hooked up together and so I kept getting NAT Type 3. Went and got a NETGEAR Modem Router (modem and wireless router in one) and connected it with my PS3 and finally got NAT Type 2.

@DeerHound97 pppeo is completely safe, what port forwarding does is open only the ports u want open, but if u select dmz it opens al ports leaving the ip address selected vulnerable, lucky there aren't any viruses for the ps3, make it safe.

@Sam17258 if you have a pppoe username and address i suggest doing that. lowering firewalls could help to but remember the reason you port forward is so you dont have to risk lowering firewalls.

@naruto3932 have nat 2 does not combat lag, it allows you to have a more open connection making it easier to pare you up with more people quicker and be able to host games. Lag has to do with the speed of your internet and the speed of the host internet.

@Emmo1337 i would triple check you have the right ip by searching up the right ip for your router. if you know it is correct and it still doesn't work you probably changed the ip at one point. you will need to reset the router.

not sure if this works, but if you go to network settings on you computer and click on your router it might take you to the right page. hope this helps
