wdas in philly schooled me to her, jean carne, roy ayers..i wish i could go back to the early 80's at the plat. before the young boys and the 5.0s and audis!
This lady was bad! Outstanding WJZZ was the best JAZZ station. Detroit bring it back we miss it so much.. I remember riding in my car in the D groving to WJZZ back in the days feeling I could drive all night listening 105.9. Keep groving Detroit

The male artist that WJZZ featured is Detroit Jazz Singer Harvey Thompson. His rendition is powerful. I no longer live in the D but was there at the right time to hear the version you are asking about. Nothing like WJZZ (Rosetta Hines, Cliff Coleman and others).
WJZZ played a version of this song sung by a male singer with a deep voice. It had sax and trumpet. I haven't been about to find it. you know the artist?

My favorite from her. One of those incomparable talents.
Read that she suffered a stroke a while ago. Does anyone know her present condition?

Still have that WJZZ t-shirt to this day. Just talked to Rosetta Hines on the phone the other day (in Vegas). Ya lost another gem Detroit!
