i played this game so fricking much i would still be playing it now if my disc diddetn stop working if any1 could like link me to a download of it i will supply emulators if they r necessary but id just love to play this game again in a way i miss it D:

Along with the original F-Zero, and Wipeout XL, this is one of the best racing games of all time. R4 was excellent, but I give the edge to Rage Racer. I played the SHIT out of this game back in the day...I was around 17 y.o.
@malevolenceXXXensues It wasn't a typo. I guess Namco were trying an "edgier" look and feel to the series. This game wasn't as bright colored as Ridge Racer, and the music was also somewhat different.
Also the first in the series to feature Reiko Nagase (the girl seen in the intro)
To my recollection, Rage Racer is the only traditional Ridge Racer game to feature real sponsors. You have Yokohama and Advan in the game. I also heard if you have a Rage Racer save on your Memory Card, you can do something with Ridge Racer Type 4. This was a great game. Ridge Racer Type 4 is the best on the PS1. But before that classic title, there was this one.
Finished the 1st half of this game recently, still have to finish the mirror tracks career mode. Drifting model is actually so fun if you can execute it correctly.
