people with natural talent who were born for tennis ( im talking abt those who have not retired) : Nalbandian, Federer, Nadal, Gasquet, Tsonga, Safin, Hewitt and Murray.
i think its no question that federer was just off form for a while. To think that his time is coming to end is a stupid thought lol. did nalbandian played malisse under the hot sun?
if he doesn't suck in heat and is more talented than federer, he would have got into french open finals like federer did. u should count the ratio of win-to-lose, not just some kinder bueno, acapollo win/finals.. 18-5 on clays mean he didn't win the 5 clay tournaments he took part. At which stages was he being knocked out for the 5 clay tournaments? Was he the one who ended the king of clay's 80+ clay-match winning streak?
You are a fool how can you say Nalbandian sucks in heat and that Federer is more talented than him. He got to SFs of French open twice, won Buenos Aires, got to final of Acapulco, just got to Indian Wells Quarterfinals. Oh by the way, in 2006 he went 18-5 on the clay, and won another outdoor event. Federer may have more variety than which makes him an overall better player, but Nalbandian has much more talent than him.
he is almost as talented as federer, but he doesn't show his talent in most of his games. Sometimes, you suspect that whether nalbandian is really talented. maybe he is just talented in tennis. Federer is talented in tennis, and also much more capable of finding opponents' weaknesses and win most matches.
nalbandian is fat, and fat people is usually afraid of heat, that is why they prefer air-conditioned matches. the records shown that he won back to back indoor master series in 2007 and won 2005 TMC final against Fed. But, I still think he is a great player.
man you dont know the first thing about tennis, please inform yourself. First you re saying Nalbandian is not so capable of finding opponents' weaknesses? it looks like you know nothing about David..he is not "fat=afraid", you re just ignorant. I suppose you dont know on indoors (or "air-conditioned courts") the ball bounces quite different, in IW it was a really slow surface, and DN plays best on indoor and fast courts, there is your explanation, dumbass.. please inform youself! dont be lame

nalbandians best day vs. federer's best day i think nalbandian would win. Not by a huge margin, but win nonetheless. Same thing for gonzalez. The problem with nalbandian and gonzalez is they are not able to play their absolute best nearly as often as federer.
the problem with nalbandian is he's not consistent like federer,if he would somehow mantain his level for a certain period of time nobody could beat him i'm sure,he proved it in these 2 last masters. Also i think that if he would've played in the Masters Cup,he would have won it.
david played really well but i dont feel as though these courts helped federer. faster courts r better for him and these courts were slow for hard courts..
He got beat on faster court in Madrid, he got toyed here in Paris. Theres no excuse, David is more talented all rounder, hope he wont end up like Rios without winning GS.
more talented? who has won 3 of the 4 GS with 1 that requires a good serve volley. ur comments of that are unjustified and federer is easily more talented.
sorry but i do not agree. most people would agree is more talented then nalbandian and it is shown thru his success. talent is nothing if u cant prove it on a constant basis. (byw i like nalbandian as well so im not against him)
nalbandian es un talentoso y un deperdicio por q si se dedicara mas al tenis seria un grande...como sea tiene grandes logros: titulos d master series y semifinales d todos los gran slams mas finalista d wimbledon
Personally, I think Nalbandian knows Federer's weaknesses a lot better than most players and his backhand is better, but I'm not so sure about his forehand. Federer seems to be slower too when he plays against Nalbandian... but that could be just me..
When you have lost to Nalbandian when you were you were both juniors and then losing to him many times after you both become pros, then one can easily say that Federer does get a bit unnerved playing David.
i think nalbandian is as talented as federer(maybe more)but i hope these last two moths do not give nalbandian the feeling that he is already good enough! if he keeps working,he will be a threat in the australian open!

Look forward to their next meeting. Federer fucking hates losing badly lol. He usually ends up turning the table around in an exaggerating fashion. It's good though, I can foresee Federer improving yet again!
Yeah, if they both played at 100%, I think Federer would have the edge. Nalbandian doesn't have as much variety as Federer, but he does have better groundstrokes, especially that inside-out backhand. But other than changing the pace and placement on his groundstrokes, Nalbandian really only has that dropshot and pass/lob tactic. The problem with Federer, is that he gets too defensive and doesn't keep the ball deep enough.
not really. If both is 100% they are really at the same level. The difference is gonna be luck and determination at the big points. Nalbandian is not always 100% that's the problem.
People talks like it's easy to beat Federer, you can excuse him , with injuries or how many times he use or not the backhand, reality is to have Roger in the other side of a Tennis courst it's not easy at all. Gives Nalbandian, Canas, and Gonzalez a lot of credit for their excellent performance in all the games again Roger
does anybody knows the name of the song in the beginning of the video? this song was always played in paris when the players went on the court.thanks in advance...
- People's excuse for David: injury and his serve wasn't as good. Well, staying healthy with no injuries, and consistently having the better serve plays a factor in making Roger the better player. Roger's on his way to making sports history. David's nowhere near.
I agree, when it comes to results Roger is the better player. He's also very lucky that David has been as lazy as he has been and Federer knows that. It's why he always fears Nalbandian. Whether David is the number 100 or the number 3 in the world. Federer is going to be a legend but Nalby could have been one. Talentwise I rate them equal but Fed has a better head on his shoulders. If David keeps playing like this though...then the coming years are going to be interesting. Go Nalby!
i believe though from now on nalbandian is going to beat federer many times because he is such a complete player and he has the smoothest backhand among players.
I would agree with you except for the many times part. Federer's one of those guys if he loses to somebody, he WILL beat them the next time they meet. When Canas beat Federer twice (I know Canas is not as good as Nalbandian but still), Federer came back and whooped his ass. Federer also decided to go for his backhand more, which is something he usually doesn't do. This helped him win the Shanghai Masters.
Nalandian more talented than Federer? And Safin too? Well.....maybe equally but not more. The difference between those two and Federer is that Federer worked is ass of while the others thought they were already good enough. He kept working on his tennis, much like Henin did. That is the reason why those two are number one. And tennis is not always about making shots but also the choices you make in a rally
Nalbandian has been playing better and has always done so against Federer, however Federer is a class above perhaps the greatest man who ever picked up a racket, he is human after all and will continue to loose every once in a while if this was a five setter it may have turned out differently, as far as Nalbandian having more talent I cannot disagree more, talent does translate in winning grand slams what else does if not talent and yes thats why he has 12 major tltles compare to Nalbandians 0.
i partly agree with you,but i thoink that nalbandian's problem was his serve.since he fixed tha he can beat federer many times and hpefully win slams.
I must have mistaken it for the Nalbandian Vs Hewitt match final LOL. Too many tennis matches in my head, i got mixed up. But i see that Federer edges Nalbandian 3-2 in Slams. I do think Nalbandian is more talented than Federer but I dont think it really matters because Federer have won 12 grand slams and Nalbandian zero. Richard Gasquet is the same. His backhand surpasses Federer's backhand but he couldnt translate it into Grand Slam success.
Nalbandian is better than Federer when he is at his best but I dont think he can keep that up in the Slams. Remember Federer's 1st Wimbledon is the win against Nalbandian.
perhaps. maybe i think fed's tired after a long season. well, hope he pulls off shanghai. =) all credit to nalbandian though, the better player in this match.
Nalbandian deserves all the credit he gets for beating Fed,Nadal,Novak, but I just can't belive how horrible Fed is striking the ball. It's not Fed's physically abilities, it's his mental. Lately,he doesn't have that belief in his shots anymore. For example,U.S. Open final vs. Novak, that is one Fed really needed some luck and lack of experience from Novak to win. I m a Fed fan,& always will be one,but he needs to believe in his shots, or the slams next year could be a problem.
Nalbandian beat Nadal again proving his win over Nadal in Madrid was no fluke. Nalandian destroyed Nadal today. He has the talent but the question remains how will he play in a best of five set match in the slams?
It doesn't matter who you support, you gotta admit Nalbandian has played incredible tennis these last days: you don't beat Djokovic, Nadal and Master Federer (2 times by the way) only with luck...
Don´t you realize people? There are all excuses, "Federer not striking the ball, the surface, bla bla bla" It´s Nalbaldian fault that Federer lost; Nalbandian improves physically and now serves better than before, additionally Federer mentally scare in the presence of KING DAVID.......
I'll give credit to David for winning, but Roger was not striking the ball like he usually does (his forehand looked so loopy instead of flat)... the surface looked very slow as well. Regardless, Federer can't win all the time (he won a tourney last week)...
Fed is still the best, he won Nal at Wimby 2011 !

to answer that: really damn good. nalby has a sick record in 5-setters.

Potentially Nalbandian is more talented, but such guys as Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are more stable. The same thing with Safin

Do you have the match against Ferrer too?

Regardless, Federer can't win all the time (he won a tourney last week)...

what the hell is up with roger, i keep seeing him lose his status as king of tennis, nadal has his number, canas, now nalbandian again!?!?!?
i just hope he keeps winning the slams, as we can all see seems to be his only priority!

do you blame him for that? he is human you know, he has limits, he better do his best at what counts and which will be written in history.
