  • Was #9 a travel?

  • OMG he's the man!!! He's famous in medicine too, as a way to remember Ewing's sarcoma. Than k you Mr. Ewing!

  • None of Patrick's Top 10 Plays were against Hakeem. LOL.

  • The dunks on Andrew Lang and Alonzo are fucking SICK! as a kid seeing that was the best since i'm such a fucking diehard Knickerbocker!

  • Nice spelling.

  • he's so good the nba has to make this this video top 13 instead of top 10

  • What makes this guy look like such a boss?

  • man i wish i was around when he was in his prime, he's amazing, i was born in 94 so i never got to watch him at his best...At least i got to see kobe and shaq

  • Let see if his son, Patrick Ewing Jr. can live up to the expectation in the New Orleans Hornets in the 2011-2012 season

  • Knicks org.should b ashamed of themselves for not getn this man no help smfh!If he had a 2nd star with a Pippen like caliber,he'd definately have a couple rings

  • Hahaha, Dwight is NOTHING compared to EWING !!!!

compared to Hakeem (imagine that duel...he would make Howard jump like a dumbass with his dreamshakes...)

    compared to David Robinson

    compared to Kareem

    compared to Shaq

    compared to Mourning

    the list goes on

These were finesse centers (except for Shaq). They had this thing called TECHNIQUE and footwork. Just watch the video showing Hakeem teaching Howard...it tells you all !!

  • #9 great move... but travel

  • @scrapykoko24 No it's the small step allowed when you're upon the move to shot. Had he now shooted, THEN it would be a travel.

  • #9

    didn't he move his pivot?

  • @revengeofbutthead No it's the small step allowed when you're upon the move to shot. Had he now shooted, THEN it would be a travel.

  • nice video

  • he is a TRUE star

  • #8 is swagged!!!

  • number 9 was a serious travel tho

  • jeasus this is what centers did god id get out the way wonder why there so soft now

  • #8 is 1, 2 or 3.

    That was a center folks

  • @PaulJuliusSokoloff If you watch Rodman closely on that play he has stuck his tongue out just a lil' bit trying to lick on Ewing's left ball which pokes his eye. He was homo officialy ANYWAY!!

  • ohh lord the nr2 Dunk just ficking destroy that guy :O

  • usually it's a top ten, but the extra three here stand for three steps

  • hahaha ewing has been howard's personal centre coach for the past 4 years

  • dwight howard did not like this video.

  • He was a good shooter too

  • the 7 who don't like, are the 7 posterized by ewing in this video

  • Knicks All The Way Baby! Gear up your dome with some Classic Knick Retro Snapbacks at PrestoHatsDOTCom

  • I feel honored to have the same last name as him.

  • he´s the man, he should have a ring, just cause he had and showed balls all the time he played.

  • my favorite player in the history of the nba

  • number 9 was a BIG travel lol, however ewing was great

  • #5...wtf

  • Where is the travel on #9? His steps are like long strides, which is why it looks like he's traveling.

  • no 9 was a travel

  • Thought 4 was the best.

  • by FAR, one of my favorite players of all time.

  • This guys is a fuckin beast!

  • he still lost though against the bulls

  • ewing is a real baller

  • FELLO NBA FANS DO YOU WANT TO ENGAGE IN CONVERSATIONS THAT REVOLVE AROUND THE NBA DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE NEW ROOKIES DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE LOCKOUT OR DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE RICH HISTORY OR DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT ALL OF THE ABOVE WELL COME TO MY CHANNEL AND HAVE A GREAT TIME AND DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCIBE TO SADAS77 FOR MORE GREAT VIDEOS

  • Number 8 was fucking nasty

  • he so good, they gave him a top 13 instead of a top 10.

  • I'm sorry but I feel it's ridiculous that people say Patrick was overrated but say Jordan was the greatest player ever. As big an impact as Jordan made he didn't average 90 points a game. Basketball is a team sport and great teams win Championships, ask the Heat if you don't believe that. If It was Pippen and Ewing and not Pippen and Jordan we might be talking about the Knicks winning multiple championships. People forget Pippens team that lost to the Knicks in 94 had a better record than Jorda

  • Traveled 10 times or so in number 9

  • Get Dunked on by Patrick Chewing!!!!

  • Patrick Chewing is more like it.

  • why top 13?

  • @marzilyas cause he was to good for 10

  • @marzilyas he's that good

  • hes like a gorilla ahahhaa

  • patrick ewing is the man!!... but hese so damn ugly -.-

  • yeah fuck number 9. should have been a travel

  • lol@ #9.... all he did was switch pivot foot and take about 5 steps

  • Le erh.. Ewing travelled #9

  • PATRICK CHEWING

  • @lebronjamesgd23 lol snickers

  • number 9 : huuuuuuuuuuuuger travel

  • they should just give him a ring for being the man :)

  • What an era in the middle. Ewing, Olajuwon, Zo, Robinson, Shaq, Mutumbo. These were real big men. I am a Bulls fan and loved their run but I always liked Ewing - the best soft tough of all the monsters.

  • I love Ewing and wish he got a ring, but, he had a chance in '94 and Olajuwan raped him.

  • @wizboy211 Sure, GANG raped! Rudy T's philosophy was to double whoever had the ball, which was especially the case with Ewing. Ewing would get doubled, sometimes tripled when he got the ball. What can I say? It worked. Although had Game 7 been played at MSG, we'd be talking about how Ewing defense won the NBA Championship...he did outrebound and out block Hakeem in the series, after all.

  • @Cainefan Yeah, but Hakeem won it. Haha, dont get me wrong, i wish ewing got a title, he deserveed it. But Hakeem wanted it more, and just played better. I persoonally think Hakeem was a better player than ewing, but everyone has their own opinions. and i really dont wana get in another youtube fight cus im arguing with this dude right now who thinks bill russell was better than Mj and another who thinks Wilt Chamberlain was better than Bill Russell. HA!

  • @wizboy211 Well, I respect your response, but the fact Ewing had more guys defending him is no opinion. It's the truth. It was up to his teammates to take advantage and they didn't. Hakeem certainly didn't play better than Ewing defensively.

  • @wizboy211 Well Ewing did outrebound and outblock Hakeem in that series, even setting a record with 30 blocks. And while I'll agree Hakeem was better after 93......Ewing was generally considered the best center in the land during the early 90's(89,90, 91,92, 93). Its hard to compare them, because when Hakeem was hitting his peak in 94, Ewing's peak was ending........largely because of his knee problems.

  • @wizboy211 In fairness, Olajuwon was raping EVERYONE in '94 and '95.

  • Did he take 4 steps in #9?

  • that was one mean center..

  • Just asking, doesn't he travel at No.9?

  • Funny how many ppl that shudve got a ring were denied by jordan lol

  • Que gran epoca de la NBA , epoca de oro , imrrepetible.

  • at number 10. 'get that weak stuff outta here

  • Different rules !

  • Do you see this dwight howard. THIS is how you play as a center

  • @Realestbrotha what??Dwight is still great

  • Comment removed

  • No 8 is the best. Dwight who?

  • Even Scalabrine can dunk on Alonzo.

  • doesn't he walk at 1:06?

  • better than any center of foward in the game now

  • Unfortunately, not every great player will win a ring. Between Michael Jordan eliminating the Knicks 3 straight years, Starks' 2 for 18, and the fight in 1997, Ewing simply had a lot of bad luck.

  • dude.....that guy he posterized in #2 must still be feeling the burn

  • Good center #9 is a travel though.

  • he traveled on every play. that was his move. the "ewing travel move." it was unstoppable. loved that team with starks

  • why 13...such a unlucky number

  • Is it just me or do NBA players get away with a traveling call on almost every play. Look at number 9. He takes like 4 steps

  • He's neither overrated, nor were both teams similar, as I have already pointed out. Remember, this was the same Houston team that played pretty well when Hakeem was out due to injury a couple of years before. The Knicks would never have won as many games without Ewing. As I said the before. If game 7 was in NY, Knicks win. The math is simple. Case closed. Otherwise, I could make the case that Hakeem didn't have what it takes to win an NCAA Championship...right?

  • A great player needs a team. A true legend does everything alone thats needed to win a championship. In every sport that is....

  • @chonyc77 Then we must still be waiting on our first legend in ANY sport....?

  • I love pat. But I never knew he could jump so far on his dunks. Greatest Knick ever.

  • Ewing was a warrior , a true franchise player. He could shoot, rebound and block shots. True knick fans remember that sweet fadeway. He was deadly from 17 feet. His heart was a big as his physiacl stature and he was the ultimate team player. His teammates loved him even Barkley(even though you wouldnt know it on the court). They became real close friends.

  • sick number 8 omg :D

  • Hmm...after watching Olajuwon's best plays, I'm not impressed.

  • Who cares, if he traveled or not...the refs didn't call it...so what! I think, Pat is the most passionate Center ever played...besides Zo Mourning. I miss the guys...true fighters.

  • I'm a huge Knick fan...but he traveled on 8 & 9.

  • great players like ewing were unfortunately playing in the same era as michael jordan.. or else they would've gotten a ring or 2

  • @mlhasgame Well, he had his chance, and couldn´t get past Hakeem and Reggie Miller

  • @mickeyjordan, meh...if game 7 had been at Madison Square Garden instead of Houston, the Knicks would have won and everyone would be talking about how Ewing was able to break the shot blocking record for an NBA Finals (at the time), out-rebound Hakeem and score enough points dispite constantly being double and triple teamed. But, alas, was not to be.

  • @Cainefan Well, he didn´t deliver. If does not count, my friend, in any situation

  • @mickeyjordan One man can never "deliver" a championship by himself...my friend. He still ended up with an NCAA Championship and 2 Olympic gold medals. So he was no slouch.

  • @Cainefan Houston and New York were very similar in 94. And in other situation, he just didn´t had the stuff to win it. I am not saying he was a bad player, but he was overrated.

  • Ewing would totally destroy any centre of the current era ..... number 2 is a monster.

  • @fazman52 you know what's bullshit? nostalgic people talking about how the "retired are always better than the current". bullshit.

  • hey RETARD its CAREER not carrer

  • wow. I forgot how young Ewing was ridiculous.

  • He was one of the best franchise players of this game, with a fabulous shot.

And, it is very important, he was a terrific money time maker.

    Respect Mr Ewing !

  • trop ewing et surtout un grand pivot il y avait pas mieux que les années 90 en NBA avec les bad boys etc vive les knicks

  • #9 terrible travel

  • He and Starks were the reason why, instead I'm Spanish, my heart belongs to New York. My life was incomplete 'til the day I step on Madison Square Garden.

  • I swear i never knew pat could Fly!

  • Man I miss those days.

  • Yes, Ewing would have about 2 rings if it wasn't for Jordan, and in his Prime, he would mop the floor with today's centers.

  • @waitsone way more than 2 proly like 5 aside from the bulls maybe the celtics in earlier 90s/late 80s who was stopping them in the east

  • @waitsone if not for Jordan, the NBA during the 90s would have been a real contest between Ewing, Barkley, Malone, Olajuwan, and many others.

  • wans't #9 a travel?

  • @s187n14a back then the rules for travel wasnt as aware as it is now

  • @s187n14a Absolutely. But hey, it's Patrick. He was always known for sneaking in an extra step or two.

  • @s187n14a super travr i counted 49 steps lol

  • In his very prime (first 5 or 6 yrs of his career)...this was the best center I ever saw. Yes, even better than the Dream...and Dream was a beast.

NY hasn`t been the same since they ditch you Big Pat...hell no

  • some of Pat's best work....

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, some of them were travels, but you have MJ to thank for them. When he was playing, traveling calls were pretty much suspended. Would be too obvious they were only not calling them for MJ if they didn't stop calling them on everyone else.

  • i would'nt compare players who dint play at same time..

  • WE finally signed his son

  • 5 was my favorite

  • Strange that Patrick Ewing's top 13 career plays are also the NBA's 13 most egregious uncalled travel violations.

  • Wasnt traveling at 1:02?

  • He's like an offensive Ben Wallace. He's a lion.

  • @ESleezyBeezy lmao he took some steps there loll

  • @ESleezyBeezy he went back to Jamaica in #9

  • @ESleezyBeezy

Yeah he did. Of all the great plays the guy had in his career they picked a play in which he traveled and didn't get called for it for their list of the top plays of his career.

  • #1 Titan clash.

  • im not hater but No.9 looks kinda travel.

    Is it?

  • It would be easier to make a 'not so top 10' list for Ewing,

    there's more to choose from!

  • #1 was beast!!!!!!

  • Dwight is lucky to have EWING in his corner teaching him tricks of the trade

  • at 9 BIG WALK

  • Top 13 lol ? Top 10 !!

  • travelling on the nine position

  • Its widely accepted tht Ewing was underapprecited in NYC. If any player busted his azz and played on balmy knees his entire career. Deserves a ring is him.

  • days when the knicks were good

  • I wish Ewing would've gotten to win a ring or two during his career, he is definitely one of the greatest NBA centers of all time

  • @Doobie1975

    @Doobie1975

And I wish Reggie Miller,John Stockton,Charles Barkley and Dominique Wikins would've each win a ring or two duing their career, they are definitely some of the greatest NBA players of all time.

  • number 10 was nice!

  • GREATEST KNICK EVER!!!

  • Comment removed

  • dwight, check this out. and then leave basketball

  • Haha, him and John Starks nearly always got jacked by Reggie Miller. Ewing would destroy Dwight tho imo, at least his tutoring Dwight in Orlando to be tank like he was.

  • @xWelcome How you figure Ewing and Starks always got jacked by Miller when they split their playoffs series wins three each?

  • number 10 was jus like wen hakeem olajuwon ran down rod strickland (if anyone remembers that)

  • Number 7 was the game i became a knicks fan. It was watching Ewing hobble up and down the court. The towel waving, the garden screaming. Patrick Ewing was by far the best jumpshooting center in the history of the nba. And people tend to forget he had little to no offensive skills coming out of georgetown.

Great clips. The dunk over rodman. Ill never forget that game, they blew out the 72-10 bulls on national television by 30 some odd points.

  • man i loved going out to MSG to see this guy play when i was a kid. ty for post~!!!

  • Big men just arent that good anymore.

  • i wish my carrer was suksessful like his

  • Wow.. he sure did walk alot and get away with it.

  • Number 4 is what he does the best!!!

  • number 9 was a mean travel

  • Damn, if only Ewing's knees held out longer...

  • this guy was made for playing basketball, one of the best players in the history of the nba, and from far the best pivot in nba, which pivot can score a 3point like him, or dunk like him...LEGEND!

  • They gotta bring these short shorts back! Looks like the game was better back then. No wonder Stockton kept wearing them. I bet he is still wearing them lol.

  • #9 Travel

    #3 Goaltending

  • @jbbushon #9 was a travel, but #3 wasn't goaltending, it was on it's way out of the area of the hoop

  • @alithegreatest34 out of the hoop isn't the rule. Check it. Section I-A Player Shall Not:

    b. Touch the ball when it is above the basket ring and within the imaginary cylinder.

I'm not against changing the rule, but this clearly would be legal in the Euro Leagues and not in the NBA.

  • @jbbushon what shocks me is how you replied to my comment that was 8 months ago and 7 pages back. and i'm sorry, i don't memorize the NBA rulebook, so i apologize.

  • @alithegreatest34 Haha, I only saw it because LATINOTE22 made the comment a couple spots below you.

  • @jbbushon oh haha. makes sense.

  • you're right on the travel. It was close to a goaltend, but the refs got it right, it was barely coming off the rim before he got it.

Lots of knicks fans remember his inability to hit the big shot, but Ewing was an amazing player and loved by the most fickle fans on the planet.

  • 2 travels in 1 play

  • @jbbushon YOU F.KIN HATER. WHO THE HELL YOU LIKED

  • @LATINOTE22 I'm a Pacers fan if you couldn't tell from the two plays that I commented on. Please explain how you disagree with either of my comments. Ewing was a great player and these were great plays, just not legal under basketball rules. I'm not trying to blame him; trust me Jordan got away with a lot more.

  • @jbbushon HEY, YOU SAID IT, JORDAN GOT AWAY WITH A LOT MORE AND SO DO ALOT OF OTHER PLAYERS, CHECK UOT GRIFFINS DUNK ON GALLINARI LAST SATURDAY, SAME EXACT SPIN MOVE BUT THEY DON'T CALL IT BECAUSE IT WAS A NICE PLAY. THATS WHY I SAY STOP HATING. NO HARD FEELINGS THOUGH.

  • @LATINOTE22 Blake's didn't look like a travel to me. He is a highly skilled player with great footwork. These two plays are similar, but not the same at all. One was travel, one was not. I wasn't "hating" at all, just pointing out bad calls that went down as great plays. I'm a Pacers fan. How do you expect me to look at those plays and consider them great when they weren't legal?
