if your bolt was put in upside down, it could have sheared off the small rubber piece that holds the balls in place in the chamber. When the bolt is put right side up, there should be a small divot to allow the rubber piece to pass through when the bolt goes forward.

Do you have to keep on cocking the bolt after several shots? Or does paint not come out?
