nice video but listening to all the "actually " is frustrating and rolling through words without properly pronouncing them. If people are going to take you seriously you have to master the majority of basic English language words. If you paused a little you could use better words than actually.....lol

No, as of now. VI3 and VI4 does not support 3-D graphics inside VM's . So you can not play very heavy games, but yes 2-D games shud not be problem at all.
vmware is cool i can multi login and chat with myself (which i never did actually)... multi login to "bot" games ... it's mainly use if u have have 2 different kind of OS i guess
wow i wonder if he says "actually " that many times or more in his regular day basis. i probably punch in the face if i live with him or work with him jj :P
He ACTUALLY says ACTUALLY 109 times. Its actually quite worrying that I counted them - but the sneaky little bastard gets a bit cocky on a few occassions where he throws in a few actuallys where you dont expect them and then around 13mins, he says it so many times you can't possibly count them accurately.
So......, 109 actuallys!!!. The big cheesy guy throws one in at 4.55 which is a bit cheeky and who gives a shit about VMware.
its actually cool that he can actually go and actually make some virtual machines that actually can run different operating systems and he can actually just copy files and its actually hardware independant.
thinstall is goofy. Why load a whole dekstop for just app. With Citrix I get all this plus just apps if I want them so where you gotta "spend" 512 MB or Ram for just one app I can get by with like 60 or 70 MB...whatever the footprint of the app is. Oh yeah what about one to many disks...you gotta use emc or netapp or some hugely expensive san vendor. Citrix comes with provisioning server so I don'h have to waste disk space per vm and I can stream to physical boxes too.
Oh by the way for all you folks looking for FREE virtualization...go download Citrix Xen right now...it's totally free and unlike VMWare it will install on IDE drives so you can play with it at home. VMware offers a free version but it's not the full blown thing AND it will only run on scsi disks.
I actually enjoyed this video..just wish that I could actually avoid some of the actuallies that I had to actually sit and look at. Hell it's stuck in my brain actually..am I quite actually going insane!!!

As a VMWare customer, the gist of it is right and I love the product. However, if I had seen this video before buying I would've been turned off by Mr. Mumbles and his sidekick Random-Setup-Guy.
kinda... the guy on the right that is talking to the VMware setup guy stares at the camera and im sorry to say its like bad acting. instead of talking to the camera he should be talking to the other guy like he would in the office. now if he talks like this in the office get a new front man :) not that he is horrible, just comes off as bad acting its like a bad info-commerical. the tech specs of the product are fantastic but if i was a CEO/ CFO... they would have ditched the video right away.
Nice demo - some of it was BS though. You can't add ANY new physical server to the farm...Well, you can, but CPU needs to be the same family for VMotion
I think you can. I personally don't have much experience doing it, but a coworker of mine set it up for the group so that new physical servers can be added. I think the only problem is that VM configurations with saved states that were started with a certain 'CPU family' can only be deployed on servers with the same CPU family.
To get by this restriction, I would discard the state of the machine. I'd shut down my machines and undeploy/discard state the entire configuration (not just a single VM). I would clear MAC addresses and anything else that might be considered a saved state as well (not sure if it's *all* necessary yet).
The resulting configuration would then be deployable on any physical server (provided that the server had enough resources).
I know it's a work in progress, but it would still be cool to use the consoles available on labmanager instead of relying on remote desktop or other tools. The ability to alter the size of the consoles (so that I don't have to adjust my screen resolution to fit a console on a maximized browser window) and move them around and organize them, instead of the current setup (stacking them vertically in a single browser window, so that I have to scroll).
Perhaps give the option to put the consoles on separate windows instead of all on the same browser window? Not sure how difficult that would be, since I'm not very familiar with MKS tech.
Not bashing the product. It's still miles ahead of the competition. Still a fan (and a frequent user, and a shareholder, etc). ' Just throwing out ideas/preferences of my own.
Actually I am seeing a doctor to get an operation done, to get the word actually removed from my brains. But actually i hope you did not find it to disturbing and actually thank you for at least watching the video :-) Richard (the guy on the left in the video)
I like the demo. I learned more about how the actual process works in 5 minutes then readying web sites for 5 months on the topics. Pictures/Videos are worth a thousand words.

this is a GREAT! example of how great vmware can be, the only problem is where can you use it, and what customers will buy this GREAT! software.
we've been using vmware server for some time now, and I think it's a great product.
the only thing they need to make availible now is hardware support for like fax boards and stuff.

I like the demo. I learned more about how the actual process works in 5 minutes then readying web sites for 5 months on the topics. Pictures/Videos are worth a thousand words.
