can anyone tell me what key this song is in?..in this video this amazing guy is playing in the original key i know that because iheard the original and this. but downloaded copies of sheet music says it starts in dm7 and some says Em7 but from figuring it out is sounds like the intro starts in Bflatm7 ...can someone please confirm?.thank you.:)

you're right, and I prefer to stay close to the original song on all tunes if possible. I bet there are other versions out here with the melody in the right hand though.

I rather like his playing w/o the melody piece. As a piano player myself (albeit a super rusty one) whenever I hear a song with piano in it, i pick out the piano bits and this would be exactly what I would hear.

First thanks for the nice compliment. I say just dive in, buy a nice keyboard if you can't get a piano, try to start playing songs you know and enjoy.  Many times I use the sheet music to get started, then listen to the actual song to match it up as close as possible. I memorize everything (can't sight read very well at all). If you get obsessed about learning a song it'll eventually work out. Best of luck to ya.

There are many different versions of this song on You Tube.. but this stands head & shoulders above the rest.

I know its not a request show or anything, but would you happen to know or play the theme tune to the Thornbirds ( old classic film) ..or Howards Way a UK based show from the 80`s with a classic opening theme which would sound beautiful on a piano..?

Yeah I think you could play this. I think a person has to become almost obsessed with learning a song, then you end up practicing so much and eventually you get it. My dad is from Germany, I think he moved to America because people made fun of his last name, ha ha. Tschüss
