  • Incredible people on both sides...an incredible time. I love seeing the quality of the film, Im guessing its reversal? I used to restore Nazi film from the same era, (for the German government-not because i am a sad enthusiast!) and again the quality is impressive. It's important to see this as a lot of people dispute certain actions. As it is today, documentation is needed in times of conflict. Thanks for posting this.

  • Japanese were as evil as Nazis.

They abducted 200,000 Asians (also Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & buried them alive to save bullets.

Japanese govt won't apologize to any of surviving sex slaves.

In 2007, Japanese govt org bought 1 pg. of Wall Street Journal & filled it with OURAGEOUS LIES: 1) the females were whores who volunteered to service Japanese soldiers. 2) Japanese govt paid them more than Japanese army generals.

  • @KimInLosAngeles I lived in Japan for 4 years, so I know the Japanese well. A major part of their psyche is to avoid humiliation at all costs in the pursuit of group harmony, so, to face what happened during WW2 would be the worst case scenario for them on a personal/national level. They see themselves (true, in today's sense) as peaceful, polite, accomodating modern citizens of the world, non-threatening and free. Facing the past is seen as unnecessary (and painful), they just can't do it :)

  • thanku to everyone of u usa servicemen past present future you mofos dont get enough appreciation

  • i had an adrenaline rush when that mortar came down on the Marines in the foxhole

  • They weren't "marine medics"; they were navy hospital corpsmen. I know; I was one. And my dad fought in this battle. It must have changed him forever.

  • @MauiMedicineMan crazy stuff man....respect for you and your father!

  • @MauiMedicineMan also this quote "Remember that a government big enough to give you all you need is also strong enough to take all you have! " is probably one of my favorite quotes ever!

  • @TheOnlineAce I love that quote, too! Do you know who made it?

  • @MauiMedicineMan the great third president Thomas Jefferson?

  • @TheOnlineAce Many credit him with the quote but that would be incorrect. It was Gerald R. Ford. But, in the end, it doesn't matter WHO said it so much as the truth of it and that it even needed to be said!

  • @MauiMedicineMan ah I see, well.....you learn something new everyday! Still a good quote!

  • @MauiMedicineMan And no better friend can a Marine have than his corpsman!

    Semper Fi

Japanese abducted 200,000 girls throughout Asia & Caucasian women in Indonesia & raped them up to 50 times a day & buried them alive to save bullets when they became too sick to be raped.

In 2007, Japanese gov't-sponsored org's bought 1 pg. of Wall Street Journal & filled it w/ LIES: 1) the females were prostitutes who volunteered to serve Japanese soldiers. 2) Japanese gov't paid them more than it paid Japanese army generals

  • @KimInLosAngeles I think you forget that in war there is no evil or good. American soldiers were as bad as nazis, everyone was as bad as nazis, they all commited crimes. America commited many war crimes during WWII, but most of them aren't known. Some of the crimes, like Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden, air raids on civilian population, The bombing by error of a Swiss town, Cincinatti massacre, Or a horrific thing, mutilating their parts as trophies. Everyone is evil.

  • @spanish111japan

You have no clue what you are talking about and you completely contradicted your point.

American soldiers were as bad as Nazis?!?!?!!? Seriously! I wasn't aware of gasing and concentration camps exterminating "CIVILIANS" by any American squads.

  • @tankdogg937 Yeah, they were, most of soldiers all arround the world were fucking assholes. You think they were the heroes of the battlefield? Saving people? Yeaahh, right. My god, what an asshole. They didn't make concentration camps, they directly killed. Oh but wait, Americans were angels!

  • @spanish111japan "stupid ass-bandit piece of moldy shit" doesn't begin to describe you.

  • @Blavits Oh look, a professional in history!

  • @spanish111japan Yah, don't even act like you are. Ur stupid comments prove that.

  • @Blavits Please, shut up if you don't even know what is WWII. A guy told me once. 'If you don't know about something, shut up'

    Please, shut up.

    Come on, you're ridicule.

  • @spanish111japan I wish I culd understand what you said, wait, no I don't.

  • @Blavits Of course, you see, you didn't understand what I'm talking about? I just tell you, i argued many things without knowing what the heck i was talking, but not anymore!

  • @spanish111japan

you need a capital I dipshit!

  • @HashJohnny1 Oh, i didn't write a capital I, OHHHH , EXECUTE ME!

  • @HashJohnny1 You need a capital Y when starting sentence :]

its yeah, not yah! And watch the Ur, its clearly your! Asshole!

  • @HashJohnny1 Ur a retard.

  • @HashJohnny1 Hey retard it's "It's" not "its" and you don't need to capitalize every fucking word. you're trying to act smart on you tube comments keep crying bub.

  • @spanish111japan Comparing America and other allies to Nazi Germany? You're so fucking stupid, what are 12? What crimes did America and the other allies do that was so bad to compare to Nazi Germany killing 12 million civilians and starting a war that costed the lives of over 55 million people?

  • @Kanoki989 Before calling me an idiot, get culture and inform yourself, people like you are really stupid. I'll reply with a link.

  • @MrDavid0808 thats mature and a great come back you really are lower then the scum on the bottom of my boot. i shouldent even b talking to a punk like you

  • @MrDavid0808 They didn't go to Hell because they killed an evil beyond anything your tiny little imagination can comprehend.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrDavid0808 Yes, they would have.

And I'm talking about evil as a nation. The japanese and German empires were evil as a whole, and the Americans helped stop their quest for domination.

  • hoott damnns

  • Veterans who survived this battle came to visit my school today and told stories about themselves in iwo jima. It was sad, they seen horrific things and were scared but they did what they had to to survive and live to tell the stories now

  • Manchuria and Northern China, the location of a large bulk of the Japanese army within Asia were liberated with the help of the Red Army.

The Red Army defeated the Japanese Kwantung Army, arguably the most powerful land army the Japanese ever fielded.

  • The real moment of World War II that will never be forgotten is the Red Army soldier hoisting the Red Flag over the ruined Reichstag in Berlin...

Iwo Gima is nothing, only a pathetic Island in the pacific which the Japanese decided to put up a futile resistance on. Battles like Stalingrad and Kursk are where World War II was fought, and why it was won...

You American cowards never even invaded Japan, instead you dropped atomic bombs on two civilian cities killing 250,000 innocent people.

  • @wnxsilence Sorry but pretty sure D-day and the invasion of normandy will always stand as the most well remembered moment of WW2. Your internationalism is cute though.

  • @wnxsilence why are u trolling on a video about the brave not cowardly american soldiers on iwo jima....u should be thanking america that u european fags or wherever ur from arent speaking german ur a disgrace

  • @Samseal16 It was not just America that won the war you know.

  • @AkinaTheKitty i know i was not trying to disrespect but this wnxsilence was trolling on a video that doesnt deserve to be trolled on

  • Comment removed

  • @wnxsilence you clearly don't know what you are talking about nor know anything about WW2

  • @58ranier World War II was won in Asia and Europe by the Red Army... Who captured Berlin?

This is just pride mongering for ignorant Americans, you cowards never even invaded Japan. Instead, as I mentioned... you dropped two atomic bombs on civilian cities inside Japan killing over 250,000 innocent people...mostly women and children, at a point when the war was already over and Japan was ready for a negotiated surrender. It was an inexcusable atrocity which will endure in history with infamy.

  • @58ranier Even in East Asia, it was the Soviet Army which defeated the Japanese Kwantung Army in Manchuria, Northern China, and Korea...The Kwantung was the best and the largest army the Japanese ever fielded, and it was the Red Army in mainland Asia which destroyed it.

It is indisputable that Red Army forces contributed the most to the common victory of the allies in World War II

The battle of Stalingrad alone, a decisive victory for the Red Army, was the largest battle in the whole war.

  • @wnxsilence Actually, more Germans were captured in N. Africa than at Stalingrad.

  • @wnxsilence Someone hasn't been paying attention in History Class

  • 7:33

  • Facts not covered:

"Almost one third of all the marines killed in WWII were lost on Iwo Jima alone." states the Iwo Jima survivors association.

The tunnels in Iwo Jima were built by Korean slaves who were executed after the digging.

The walls in the tunnels used volcanic ashes mixed with concrete to make them impenetrable to the bombings and shells at that time.

Hundreds of American soldiers jumped on grenades to save their friends. There were no hiding places except for the bombed craters

  • @magic2magic Amendments to "facts"

    True

Not true, the Koreans were not executed and many surrendered during and after battle.

The fortifications on Iwo were far weaker than normal due to the use of the volcanic ash. There was not enough concrete, most being sent to Okinawa and Formosa, so they added the ash. The lack of reinforcing steel (rebar) is a large factor to the overall weakness of the fortifications. Naval bombardment never worked well and was used more for on call fires. con't...

  • @magic2magic con't...

There were not "hundreds" of "soldiers" that jumped on grenades. First they were Marines, not soldiers, and secondly, there were only 27 cases of Marines purposely taking a grenade blast to save friends. Of the 27, three men survived and one, Jack Lucas smothered two and lived.

    Just keeping it straight.

  • What do u think happens after we die?

  • USA just wait for Japan revenge!!

  • @elsurunidoMENOSCHILE Pftt yeah right this time we'll just send the nukes.

  • @elsurunidoMENOSCHILE ....So a 377,944 km island can take on a 9158918 km continen, along with all of the allies we have?

  • HOOORAAH!

  • look what you americans always done to the people with fire, atombombs and weapons of mass destruction . someday it comes all back.

its always the same we hear, america bombs another country !

  • @DaCube83 Yea it'll all come back but I hope you don't have nukes in mind we already have simulated programs to show exactly what would happen so if we see one on radar most people will survive and once it's safe to go out side we'll just start all over again on building and growing crops.

  • I wonder, why were the Americans the only Allied force fighting against Japan? @__@

    What are allies for?

  • @themangix357 We were the only ones against the japs because we were the only ones with a reason to fight them. Never forget Pearl Harbor.

  • @amazingmazie Oh I see... thnx for the clarif and sorry about that. I was just wondering why it wasn't a team effort.

Many countries, including my country, owe their freedom from WWII to the Americans. General Mc Arthur said that he shall return and he did returned to liberate our country from Japanese rule. Thnx to the brave and courageous Americans!

  • @amazingmazie America wasn't the only one fighting Japan. China and Australia had their armies against the Japanese, while guerrilla forces in the Philippines also resisted Japanese control. China was involved against Japan long before America entered the scene, although America did support Japan, notably the Flying Tigers air force. While America was the only major power fighting Japan, it wasn't the only one with a reason to. Japanese expansion called for the conquer of many countries.

  • @kdbeaar oh sorry for putting up false info and thanks for clearing that up.

  • @kdbeaar Last comment: I wrote America did support Japan- It should be America did support China.

  • @kdbeaar where the fuck did you get your information America didn't support japan.

  • @DannySong100 Please refer to my last comment- I meant to say it supports China. I realized my mistake and corrected it in my last comment.

  • @kdbeaar didnt russia declare war on japan once they were almost defeated?

  • @nestor1195 Yes, but I didn't mention it earlier because it wasn't a major enemy of Japan. It wasn't at war with Japan long enough. In fact, before Russia declared war on Japan, American supply ships in the Pacific flew the Soviet flag, and not one was attacked.

  • @kdbeaar ok. thanks 4 the fact. :D

  • @amazingmazie Sorry but incorrect. The "allies" with us in the Pacific included Australia, New Zealand, China, Great Britian, Canada, the Phillipines and some smaller countries. They supplied everything from troops to aircraft carrier battle groups.

  • @Toddinfantry if your going to read comments see if there are replies to it someone already cleared that up.

  • @amazingmazie Apologies, I saw the replies after I posted and should not have beaten a dead horse.

  • @Toddinfantry Its ok. Actually I wanted someone else to say that, just so I could be sure.

  • @themangix357 my thoughts exaclty wtf?

  • @themangix357 They weren't the only ones. The Pacific Theater "allies" included Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, China and some smaller countries. Almost all provided support from troops to aircraft carrier battle groups.

  • @themangix357 Well listening to amazingmazie will get you no where.

The war against Japan was fought by a group of countries (allies), that included: Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, India, Russia and some smaller countries as well. The US took most of the burden due to the attack on PH and the fact that most others were fighting in Europe.

    Just keeping it straight.

  • WHAT the hell.japanese soldier don wan surender.the spirit of love nation and kill in action is better than been capture and been die with out food in pow.i respect the spirit of japanese soldier eventhought their in axis.

  • Theamzer are you german if so i am to

  • oh i just hate how you americans are so cocky and overconfident...

  • HOO AH!

  • First, the gentleman narrating this video incorrectly described Marine medical people as a "Marine Medic". Medic is the term used by the Army. In the Marines they are called Corpman. Plus the Corpmen are technically attached to the Navy although they went through Marine boot camp.

Also, several clips in this video depict many large trees that were stripped of leaves by the Navy bombardment. Iwo Jima had no trees or any other kind of vegetation.

  • @JamesA46 James, why is it that some people cannot resist trying to sound smart by trifling over things such as vegetation when watching a movie?

  • @MrCreightonian You really don't get it do you? Try asking a Marine. They'll tell you why.

  • @JamesA46 Corpsmen are attached to Marine units and are expected to do the same thing as their unit, but Navy Corpsmen do not go through Marine bootcamp.

  • @Eye4Lites Read "Flags of Our Fathers". The Navy Corpsman who helped raise the flag on Iwo Jima was required to go through Marine Boot Camp.

  • How about showing some respect for these Marines and what they did instead of your bickering back and fourth.

  • 15000 casualties. Unbelievable by today's standards. A whole generation sacrificed.

  • @logoRH You idiot Korea was not a defeat or a win. The UN objective was not to win the war there but to help prevent south Korea from falling into communism. It was a ceasefire between the communist north and the UN forces. The war is still going not just a ceasefire. Get your facts straight.

  • @logoRH What do you base this opinion regarding nukes not being aimed at Japan on, and where do you get the bases for the US "loss" in WW2?

US dropped 3 $bilion bomb out of 2 $bilion plane while Japanese did not have enough rice to go around.

Just on the subject of "running away" from Nam: Communists showed up 2 years after US withdrew. S. Vietnamese made concious decision not to defend themselves. No ammount of support will win a conflict for one who does not have the will to win.

  • mave.foorumi.eu

  • RE: The regular air bombs were more acurate and more deadlly, The nukes save lives on both sides

  • @joseagosto1 I totally agree with u. If the US not use nuclear bomb on Japan, the war will continue until the landing of Allies in Japan, which will cause more casualties to Japan and also the Allies army. And most importantly, the Japanese army outside Japan will continue killing people in most part Asia if US not drop the bomb at Nagasaki and Hiroshima cause most of the Japanese still dreaming of the imperialisme.

  • Those Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima were heroes, and fuck you if you disagree. They fought with bravery, they fought for their country. There were no women and children on the island, no anything except brave American vs brave Japanese. I salute you brave Japanese warriors. Any fellow Americans who disagrees can shove it.

-- from a blue eyed, blond haired American in Los Angeles

  • @mygoatisdead Fuck you. the japs were fucking rats you have no idea
