I remember there being a guy in REMAX that was on the Natonwide Tour. They said that he struggled with other facets of his game at least at a pro level but because of his distance he was able to at least be somewhat of a touring pro but could never play on the PGA.
just because this guy hits the ball really far doesnt mean he can beat tiger woods and rory mcilroy, driving the golfball far doesnt win a golf touranment there is 2nd shots chips putts hazards and other things....
all club heads are USGA conforming, there isn't a real equipment advantage, and shafts will snap long before the heads go out, it's wiser to buy more shaft/head combos then just using one head forever and having to replace the shaft anyways
With the swing speeds in the 150Mph range, you don't get many hits on a thin-faced clubhead before it caves in. Everyone knows this. But you can't say that a company is going to produce a clubhead that is not as close to the legal C.O.R as possible. These guys, me included, will not buy a club that has a lower C.O.R. i.e. stronger clubhead, just because we want or clubs to last a bit longer. A lower C.O.R. could cost someone $250K, when they squeeze every mph they can out of their club.
Long drivers do not use longer clubs, we are allowed up to the 48 USGA limits that any pro or amateur can use legally, and as for the club heads go, they are actually less hot then compared to regular drivers since they are strongly reinforced so they do not collapse nearly as fast as an ordinary club would in the hands of me or anyone of these guys. What your seeing there is true power
Sorry braddah, they are not "less hot.". Each Longdrive competitor has numerous clubs that they bring to the competition. With the tremendous clubhead speed generated, heads do collapse as you wrote, but virtually all competitors knows when their clubhead is damaged. Big money here and these guys are not going to chance losing $250K on a $1K driver. That is why they bring many clubs, & use clubs that perform best. I hear what you are saying, but competitors wont win with a "less hot" club.
when you have a more reinforced face, the ball doesn't rebound off as much because of less trampoline effect, im talking about a very small fraction of a difference, some of the guys that are backed by good sponsors are able to have like 20 clubs built that are lighter and have a less thick face, but they will break very easily. For the other 99% of the guys in this sport including me, use a head that is quite a bit thicker than lets say your callaways and taylormades etc.
Big deal. My friend hits it that far using old technology. 50 inch longwood shaft and an old 250cc Golfsmith head. And he's 40 years old, in bad shape and doesn't play but once in a great while and never goes to the driving range. Beat that. Anyone.
I've seen you say that exact same string of words on at least a few of Jamie's videos. I don't get why you're bragging about your "friend" why don't you go get some of your own achievements instead of saying some bullshit on youtube. You have to realize he's the long drive champion of the world, it is a big deal.
Everybody needs to see what this speed looks like up close. It's absolutely incredible! Jamie's hitting the new Adams Speedline driver this year with the new House of Forged Whup-N-Shaft Jamie-JS-Sadlowski.

I could use this guy in my four man scramble this summer!!! It would not suck to start every par 4 or 5 off after a drive of about 380 yards, LOL!!!

Well when you have a pretty nice swing speed, along with a driver as long as a small child, it's pretty simple.

LDers have around 50 inch shafts
if not more
that helps get some extra yardage
and then flexibility and talent enables them to crush it 400+
WestBromSte 2 years ago 3
@WestBromSte 48 inch max
FullTimeHypocrite 7 months ago
@WestBromSte They compete with a 46" shaft, just like PGA players. Call Krank Golf and confirm.
