Julio Barreto es uno de los pocos Bateristas que a partir de un lenguaje tan conocido como el afrocubano en los últimos años ha logrado crear un estilo muy propio. Pero es evidente que tiene muchas herramientas en común con otros grandes de la Batería y eso demuestra que antes de incursionar en un nuevo sonido se debe lograr un nivel técnico, independencia y versatilidad de alto nivel.
