I like Crass, however, they seem to have misunderstood what oi is all about. It's not political music, but rather something of punks answer to "folk". It usually tells stories from the gutter, often very exaggerated but still having some truth to it. Much of it is very ironic too, joking about a working class stereotype. Everything doesn't have to be political, what's so wrong about having fun when you're not on the barricades?

The song is, I think, not as broad and much more about the Oi! "movement" and the false revolutionary mobilization of the working class that it brought, more fighting others than fighting the system that oppresses them. Listen to "Hurry Up Garry" for more evidence of Crass's general dislike for the skin movement, and even funnier, Chumbawamba's joke song "I'm Thick" they slipped onto a skinhead music compilation in 86 or so.
