  • you are awesome, very helpful!

  • What kind of amp are you using? Is the reverb up on it? How do u get the echo? Thanks

  • @gretahottunareed I am playing through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212, with a tiny bit of reverb and a Boss DD-3 digital delay pedal..

  • Well i had the strum before you finished the lesson and i have tried to do that rockablilly strum without success for a long time - reminds me of hey bodiddly. Thanks

  • i think your playing is brilliant, can play stones version, but am having a few problems getting down that strumming pattern ,any indication on the pattern would be a good help . ps had to buy a gretsch after watching this ,arrives next week..cheers

  • great lesson man:) hope to keep seeing more from you on here:)

  • love it..thanks man

  • love the falcon bro

  • Thanks a lot pal! Great job!

  • Please explain the strumming pattern on the starting cords. This is the best sounding pattern for solo guitar learning . Makes you want to start playing Rock and Roll. Many thanks for the lesson

  • Nice guitar O.o

  • Feel like an idiot but what guitar are you useing

  • @TexianPride Gretsch White Falcon..

  • i would love to be able to play like you!

    rock on pal!

  • Hi Damian, I love my 6120, but the guitar that turned me to Gretsch was the your White Falcon. I tried it in a used guitar shop and just fell in love with it. I really should have bought that one. But the 6120 is also very cool. I would love to try that early Gretsch Bo Diddley used to play (before the box one). Oh yeah, and great lesson. Thanks for your time in helping your fellow guitarists out.

  • Ace lesson man helps me a lot thanks

  • Great lesson.I rarely see two identical instructions on this song. Here is another good version, IMO.E chord two down strokes, A chord up/down up/down, Esus up/down/up, E chord two downstrokes.Total 11 strums. The Esus can be either the two or three note version, both on the 2nd fret.

When the song moves to the A-D-A, the same strum pattern using A, D,Asus,A.The Asus is the form on the second and third fret.(second string third fret, third string second fret, fourth string second fret)

  • i can haz ur gretsch?

  • GODDAMN THAT SOUNDS GOOD!

  • Very nice lesson! Well done and clear... It may be good for many aspiring guitarists to understand that the solo is comprised of chord fragments of alternate shapes of A , D , E , A .... It took me a long time to understand that there are four and five positions to play the same chord up the neck, and that using these other forms creates great texture and fills - as so beautifully illustrated here!

  • Nice video! Been looking all over for the solo and you did an awesome job. Perfect!

  • Great tutorial..What model Gretsch are you using? Beautiful guitar! Thx!

  • Thanx for the lesson dude I for one am a huge buddy Holly fan and will be practicing this until I've nailed it to a T..:)

  • I play with a Schecter tele type and this song rocks. Just read Keith Richard's book and this puts me back there for just moment. Thanks for sharing. It's cool that artists like you do this. All I need is a little pop up drum kit and a vocalist, then I can raise some real hell.

  • Hey man, great lesson I really appreciate it. Also, that guitar has a nice tawngy kick to it sounds really good.

  • When trying to respond to a comment, I accidently erased the comment, sorry...I have had this guitar for about 12 years now, I bought it brand new back then.

  • You can't tell but it's real beat up. For a few years it was my main guitar and I used it for all my touring and recordings, It needs some tender love and care though. When I get some time I need to get her all pretty again. This particular guitar has alot of balls. It's my favorite Gretsch out of the two I own. Next on my wish list is a Duo Jet..I gotta own one someday
