Looks like a fun car but the chassis just looks like it's no good. Understeers a lot from what I see in the video and thanks to the torque overdrive or whatever they call it, it looks like it will just snap into oversteer without warning. Suspension looks too stiff for the chassis as well, its just so short and small that it just cant put it down properly. Plus they need to redo the steering. Still a sweet little car

Lord all mighty that's an ugly car! they even fucked up the only BMW I did like, the M6. But Germans have never been known for their exterior styling. You need to look to Italy, GB or even America for that. Japans starting to fuck up too. The LFA is nice but the GT-R (which was never a good looking car) gets a little uglier every time I look at it & little pocket rockets like the the EVO lack any form of elegance.

Motortrend is doing a very good job with these lapped reviews, but I have one URGENT request! Plz get the audio done well. I want to hear the real car sound, not 10% exhaust sound and 90% wind. every video has that problem, the sound of the wind is getting in the way of the engine and exhaust note. If that can be fixed, it'll be brilliant!

Good car, but almost $60,000 on an entry level M sounds steep. You might as well buy an M3 for a couple grand more. IMO BMW interiors need work- too bland for the price. BMW loves charging it's customers big bucks.

The 1M has very big potential to be a lot faster than the M3. It is lighter and with some simple ECU-exhaust-filter tuning power is easily bumped up to 420..

I'm someone who doesn't care about spec sheet performance or nurburgring lap times. I like cars that are well balanced, engineered with the experience in mind (rather than numbers in mind) and have great design.

The 458 does all that beautifully. It has the modern systems yes but all of which can be tweaked and turned off. I love everything about that car.

I don't think lap times are going to be a big deal with who they claim to be the best car. I don't know what else is going to be lapped, but based on Randy's feedback I don't think the 1 M is gonna be very high on the list.
