I bought a 2002 K1200LT in MArch of 2009. It had 26K miles on it. I now have 52K miles on it and love it even more than when I bought it! I put new Metzeler 880s on it this spring and the ride improved still more. I would like to explore the Uni-Go trailer option in the future. I'll need to install the trailer hitch first though.
The uni-go is a great idea. It tows like a dream and holds a surprising amount of gear for the size; almost like a clown car. You don't even realize it is back there and it leans with the bike and tracks around corners very well. Pricey, but very nice.
It has a straight four-cylinder engine mounted horizontally to accommodate the shaft drive. Pistons in front of your left shin, crankshaft in front of your right. The "K" engines are known affectionately as "The Brick" by many BMW riders due to the shape of the engine looking like a large concrete block, not the performance. You can look at my other video "1986 BMW K100" for a view of the engine that is similar and predates this K1200 design.

What kind of engine does this bike have? A straight or V-four cylinder? :-)
