obama is a true house nigga. i really think obama would harm his own family just to put a smile on a white mans face. i would not vote for this fool 2012.
If Reagan or Roosevelt were in a church where they burned crosses do you think people would vote for them? I guess bo is lucky for the largest amount of voter fraud in the history of the world.
Anyway, whomever wins the democratic nomination, we should all support Clinton or Obama. We can't let Mccain win. Another 4yrs of Bushism is hell. Please Clinton and Obama supporters alike support whomever wins the nomination. Put aside your difference and vote in November. Racist and sexist assholes will do anything so the two don't win.
Hilary Clinton has proposed a Gas Tax that will only save the average American roughly 32 cents a day. This tax will also potentially sap 12 billion dollars from the Highway Construction/Repair fund, and will likely cut up-to 320,750 Highway Construction jobs. She's, supposedly created a get-around for the budget cut, but what improvision(s) has she developed for the over 300,000 Highway Construction jobs that will be lost as a result of this tax?
There is no response. It's just the truth. But people prefer to vote for someone they'd want to have a beer with as opposed to someone who is telling the truth. That's why a retarded guy is in the white house now. They voted him in twice for crissakes. And this is why McCain will win in November. It's unfortunate.
the gas tax holiday is to promote summer tourism which is integral to the economy, and to ease the burden on transportation workers like bus and cab drivers and truckers who are also a major part of the economy. and, as gas prices soar the government is raking in unprecedented tax revenue at all levels already. just because the tax holiday doesn't target people obama panders, and the government has to take its hands off a bit of our money, to doesn't mean it's a bad thing.
Americans will only save a total of roughly $20-something dollars a month. While it is a good thing that Gas Companies will have to pay the bill, they'll just rise their prices to make up the balance.
In addition to this, the natural rise in demand during the summer will help to escalate the prices even further.
And those who use diesel fuel, those who are truck drivers, those who use trucks, etc. will particularly feel the pinch. Clinton has yet to offer relief from this huge loophole.
What's been said has been said. If you wish to be ignorant, then go ahead, but I am still not responding in regards to the Reverend Wright issue. In fact, I will no longer respond to any posts revolving around any "issue" involving Obama's "associates".
Nin1963: Obama said that Wright was his spiritual adviser.Obama didn't say that his church was his spiritual adviser, so, yes, the litmus test for Obama is Wright.
Wright's influence is telling in the way Obama described small town Americans as bitter and clinging to guns and religion. His influence on Michelle is seen in her remark that at 40+ she is just now proud of America.
There are many more examples.
Wright, like it or not, is a big influence on Obama.
msjoje: You forget the 300,000 ex-soldiers suffering from stress disorder and the thousands who are missing limbs. Are you proud of the politicians who voted for this (hint: Clinton, McCain)?
DrCynic1: Oh, I get it! Michelle Obama did not have a reason to be proud of her country, until now, until she was 4o+ because of the war. She did not look at the sacrifices our men have made and feel proud that we have men so patriotic that their belief is "Our country, Right or WRong", and will put their life and limbs on the line for their fellow Americans.
This was an illegal war. Sen Clinton did not vote for war.
She misspoke. No big deal. So does Hillary when she talks about obliterating Iran. Except Michelle is not running for President, Hillary is. And yes, Hillary voted for the war.
Dr.Cynic: Michelle, No misSpoke, misWrong. Michelle wasn't speaking extemporaneously, she was reading a prepared speech. She was speaking for Obama. Wright has had a big influence on them both, and her remark of not being proud of America before, was written down and a remark Wright would have said.
No, Sen clinton voted for a resolution, not a declaration of war.
I can understand that, but exactly what are they fighting for anymore? There has yet to be a clear objective outside of creating a "Democracy" in Iraq, and creating stability in neighboring countries. Our current President fails to see this, and basically sends our men out to the slaughter. I'm just as proud of our men and women, but I'm anything but proud of this war.
I know. The ignorant name calling and fear mongering is really getting out of hand. It's a shame that one of our former Presidents has reverted to dirty politics. Evidently, he has failed to stay true to his Democratic roots in that regard.
Funny. Everyone here is trying to make this look like such a travesty, and yet this hasn't stopped Obama from picking up more superdelegates. He's closing the gap even still with Clinton having a less than 20 SD lead.
As Clinton would say: "We're going tough, we're going strong, and we're going all the way!"
obama is strugle to explain himself hellooooooooooo i was right in the beginning obama not deserve to be the president him and alsharpton are seek people
WOW! This issue has reduced a man who CAN be an inspirational speaker to a stammering stuttering trainwreck who can't even articulate why he goes to church!
The facade has cracked. And I don't like what I see underneath it.
Bob Casey, a long time Catholic, betrays his faith and his father who was an anti-abortion hero to endorse Obama who is die-hard pro-abortion on demand.
Joe Andrew, the former DNC leader appointed by Bill Clinton, betrays Hillary Clinton whom he endorsed at the beginning of the presidential campaign.
Barack Obama,a devoted follower of pastor Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, betrays him by denouncing him and kicking him off the campaign boat.
So anyone who supports Obama is a traitor of their faith and their country? What a bunch of bull. That's no better than saying that every black person who supports clinton is a traitor of the black public. And I dare you to try and find the difference between these.
We are supposed to vote according to belief. When someone votes or turns against his long time belief or friend to secure personal gain, that is betrayal. Blacks voting for Hillary or McCain are not traitors if they share the belief of the candidate they vote for.
I agree. But if someone disagrees with, for example, an individual's manner of campaigning, then that, at least in my book, is not betrayal. I'm not suggesting that this is what you're saying, I'm just making an additional point.
Honestly, first Bill Richardson, and now Bob Casey? Why don't you get mad at that one former Civil Rights leader who switched to Obama after South Carolina? Why not gripe and moan about every individual who has "betrayed" Hilary Clinton after she showed her Republican colors? Like I said earlier, it is no better than those who accuse Black people who support Clitton of being traitors of their own race. I am very agitate by this entire process, but I refuse to think that way of my fellow men.
He did have an opportunity to use his Harvard education to become a multi-million dollar Lawyer, but he decided to help out the community of Chicago. After several years of this, he went to be in the Illinois Senate. How is he a lawyer when he never really became one?
mike50333: He was a lawyer. That's how he met Rezko and subsequently how Rezko's wife bought the other piece of land enclosed by Obama's brick wall around his home.
M..Obama has been on tv two days talking for Obama about Wright so he doesnot screw up again..what values does this man have..wright and obama met before and said when he ran for president they would have to distance themselves then Obama Distance himself from wright which po'd wright so he lashed out at Obama who then DENOUNCED him. I would no sooner denounce him as I would my white grandmother or the black community VALUES right on..Micahell Obama first lady YIKES
I'd bet you won't hear shit from now on from Rev. Jeremiah Wright, you know Obama's people have gotten a hold of him and told him if he'll just shut-up and go along he'll be taken care of.
Show me a link, and I'll probably believe you. If this is true, it was probably earlier in the campaign; I didn't get involved real good until mid January, so I probably missed it.
It was when the videos started coming out at the beginning believe me I would not just make it up it was even on TV I will try and find it and let you know
Just wait and see if Mr. Wright comes back out before the end of this, he's not the kind of guy to just shut-up. So if you don't see him you'll know what happened.
It wasn't too long ago that Obama supporters were defending Dr. Wright.
Challenging the racist media, and Fox News.
Now they're throwing him under the bus.
How adorably convenient, Barack Obama believing that when he lies it is easily forgiven, and when others lie, it is a cardinal-political sin, punishable by guillotine.
I think a nasty surprise awaits Mr. B, when voters across America reject the Partisan Pardon.
You're not gong to complain that Some Clinton supporters (supposedly) threw Ferraro under the bus? You're not going to talk about how McCain threw that one Conservative Talk-Show Host under the bus? What makes our scenario any more special than those?
Clinton and McCain don't think they're morally better than one another-they just disagree with each other. Senator Obama believes he is the morally superior candidate, and as such deserves to be held to this standard.
For that matter, the only people who threw Geraldine Ferraro under the bus are the Obama campaign, with their seething and hypocritical accusations of racism.
Get a grip Mike50333. The only paranoid White Person in this contest is named Barack Obama.
You know what? Your statement is so full of bull.
Firstly, Obama doesn't think he's Almighty God. He knows that he isn't morally correct. He know's he isn't perfect. His wife and kids remind him of that on a daily basis. Secondly, Geraldine Ferraro's comments were racist. What do you think it's called when you say "the only reason someone is as popular as they are is because they're black?" She undermined his achievements and mocked his race simultaneously.
Isn't it amazing. Somebody who tries to solve problems by speaking candidly and honestly and doesn't play the usual petty political games is suddenly... Holier than thou. It says more about the people who are not used to it and think its bizzarre.
I agree. Peopole always gripe and moan about how they can't stand "dirty politics" and yet when someone rises above teh fray, then all of a sudden, he's interpreted as a weenie. A wimp. A cowering b-....she-dog. It's beyond sickening how backwards and hypocritical our society and our government is. These people do not truly desire change. If they did, they wouldn't use every bit of bad news on Obama as an excuse not to vote for him.
Did you pay any attention to the my previous post?
I said "I 'can' tell which 'idiot' you 'support'"
(in case you're too stupid to realize, the im-por-tant words are wrapped with the a-pos-tro-ph-e-s. Go back to elementary school and actually learn how to read.
mike50333: Obama is the candidate who is running on a platform as an agent of change, who will ascend "politics as usual". Obama has promised that "our scenario" as you have phrased it, will be different and therefore "special".
You have proved the point, that Obama is not special, that he is using the same old same old and therefore, can't claim anything other than being exactly like Clinton and McCain.
mike50333: I came up with 7 lines of something. You're going to critique the rebuttal to the answer to the rebuttal again and not answer...like Obama?
I've heard the crap between Obama and Wright for over a month. For over a month, I've been saying that they have no current association in the past. They've had a past relationship, but as of last week, that relationship shattered into potentially irreparable pieces. I've said that Obama does not embrace the hate filled teachings that Wright has sometimes preached over the pulpit, and both in the public and behind closed doors, he's failed to show any embrace.
Then prepare to get nasty 'cause I'm not backing down. What's funny is when his CAMPAIGN does something, you try to say "Obama did this ****! Both campaigns have been duking it out, trying to show their candidate as supreme over the other. It's really how the candidates themselves perform during the primary and electoral races that speaks volumes to the American Public. Hilary Clinton has lead a hate and fear filled campaign, and has no intentions of breaking the habit.
I don't recall where it's stated that someone has to take into account, something another individual says. Last time I checked, it's the person who made the comment or did the action who is supposed to receive the consequences.
mike50333: Of course Obama uses dirty politics. But for these pass 7 months, Obama has been trying to convince Americans that he was different, there would be a Change in "politics as usual". You've just admitted he uses the same tactics all politicians have used since the Golden Age of Greece! No change, no Hope!
I stated that his CAMPAIGN uses dirty politics, as does Clinton's and McCain's. However, I also said that Obama has yet to stoop to the low that Clinton has. Heck, even McCain is keeping his dignity in this race...though that could be because he's the only republican now.
You really should analyze a person's posts before saying anything. And for the record, I will not back down. To you, I will never back down.
mike50333: That's the spirit,Mikey. Denial in the face of facts. All 3 senators are responsible for their campaigns and therefore their staffs. It's disingenuous to claim Obama's not doing dirty tricks.
If you are measuring dignity, Obama's has been mightily sullied by Wright. It's not dignified to throw your spiritual adviser under the bus.
You know what, I'm done. I will no longer continue the Reverend Wright discussion. I have said what needs to be said. Obama himself said what's needed saying. The Wright controversy has only caused light damage to his campaign, therefore there's no need to continue to defend Obama from flak he's not receiving. If Obama hadn't denounced Wright's comments, you'd be blasting him for supporting Wright. You obviously hate him, and I cannot change that.
mike50333: Goodness, I don't hate anyone. I just don't respect Obama, nor do I believe his obvious contradictory statements. Black Liberation Theology has shaped his perception of the world. That's why he and you, can make statements about bitter small town Americans, because that theology cannot stretch its way to include other races. It is a static, unbending philosophy that was born out of a struggle that is relevant to the environment today. Or is it?
mike50333: Obama is the candidate who is running on a platform as an agent of change, who will ascend "politics as usual". Obama has promised that "our scenario" as you have phrased it, will be different and therefore "special".
You have proved the point, that Obama is not special, that he is using the same old same old and therefore, can't claim anything other than being exactly like Clinton and McCain.
White people are not this stupid!!!Come on, we don't live in the America our grandparents lived in, we live in a new America! ONE AMERICA, MULTICOLOR, MULTIRACIAL, DIFFERENT FAITHS! That is why the pioneers came in the first place LOOKING FOR A CHANGE,A COUNTRY THAT WOULD EMBRACE THEM NO MATTER WHAT! ONE AMERICA!
You know Mike, I think is because some are to scare to let power go, and accept that maybe black people are finally coming out from where WE put them years ago. So now nobody knows what to say to boycott the only man capable to lead this country, cause some people are not ready to accept a Black person to be as responsible and intelligent as a white people
Yup. A lot of people fear that once a Black Man (specifically a Black MAN) gets into office, that nullifies all their efforts of restraint. Fortunately, there are many Whites who have seen the light- looked past the skin and the controversy to see a man that is truly prepared to lead this nation. A man who will be "Right on Day One!" And for that, I congratulate you. :)
True, he is half-white, half-black, all Obama. lol
Unfortunately, most people just look at his skin, look at where he came from and say: "No way in ****** hell will I vote in this nigger Muslim!!!" It's a sad but true reality. In all our change, this country has yet to look past the skin.
Okay let me get this straight. First you all criticize Obama for defending Wrights "racial" views, and now you criticize him for denouncing his views? To be honest, I think you all are far more flip-floppish than John Kerry. You just look for the dumbest reasons not to vote for someone, and through this, try to drag as many individuals as you can into not voting for that same someone. Do you really think this is efficient for the bettering of our nation?
Hey I have read the entire book, THAT'S WHY I'm defending Obama. What's up, I am the one agreeing with you Mike, and telling the rest to educate B) Anyway that guy Devin was needing a lecture on READ SOME BOOKS! I am white and I believe we can change this country for the better, and I think Obama is the one with the biggest balls to help us. Peace out ...(to you too) Brother B)
Have you taken the time to read it? Whether is BS or not, how can you criticize with out finding everything out about all three candidates??? HAVE YOU TAKEN THE TIME TO STUDY THEM OUT? OR YOU ARE JUST GOING FOR WHAT YOU HEAR FROM OTHER PEOPLE? OR THE NEWS?
I don't think Rev. Wright knows who he is or what he is saying, he is too hurt and still dragging the segregation issue too long, but why are we holding Obama accountable for what someone else says???? Read the book Obama wrote on 2006 read it all, see what the man really thinks before all this crap started, let's don't be fooled by the older generation and start thinking for ourselves. Obama CAN'T be hold ACCOUNTABLE for that other crazy person
Who trusts what Obama wrote in his money-making book-shelf smut after THIS. Seriously, nothing in the past year of campaigning has been more incredulous in terms of illustrating a candidate's hypocrisy, and utter illegitimacy.
Have you truly read the entire novel, or have you just skimmed through the book, trying to find little bits and pieces here and there that can be misinterpreted as racist or bigotry?
Devin1498: An incitefull remark. As you read through Obama's book, the lies, half-truths, and hypocrisy justs jumps out at you.
It reads much like the statement that is cited in which Obama points to as his anti-war speech.Never does he say unequivocally that he is against the war.He does say that the U.S. needs more info before going to war.
Way to turn your back on God and your religion Obama. I think Obama attended the church just to put on a show to the world for political gain. Either he's false for pretending to be a church goer, brainwashed for actually listening to the nutjob rev. wright for so many years, or as he is portraying with this speech, he's just another politician lying to the public. Hillary and McCain are no better.
People are finally waking up and finding out Ron Paul has been the only person for the job.
...The only way Obama would be turning his back on his religion is if he started saying and preaching that Jesus isn't Lord and God isn't...God. Oprah has done this. Will you criticize her?
I'm not saying that she's cultist. Just because this guy is becoming crazy popular, though his numbers have [supposedly] declined a bit over the past couple of days, it's a cultist phenomena. I can guarentee that if Hilary Clinton or John Edwards had gained such popularity, you would not even have this sort of mindset.
What is it about Black appeal that has so many white bigots paranoid?! It's not like he can do ANY worse than George Bush.
It's just the opposite actually. Obama is a more of a white dude than anything who is putting on the African American / praise Jesus attitude as a 'show'. It shows his insincerity and double faced true colors and although not uncommon in politics it will lack the true change we all really need
Sunbean..... what would you have done if(you were running for president) one of the preachers of your church was f.. crazy and said (and has) some crazy things against another race? What would you have done?
Exactly why aren't WE (white people) making a big deal about Hillary's crap or Mc Cain's 16 or so years ago mistake on not thinking MLK's Birthday was meaningful enough to make it a holiday, why are we so against Obama? Is it because we feel threatened that maybe we are not the only ones capable to lead the country but that maybe Blacks are getting out of where we PUT THEM??????? Let's educate ourselves!
...I've been trying to skirt around the issue...but that aspect of what Reverend Wright has said is...correct. We still undergo discrimination throughout this nation. Does anyone notice that the Black college attendence has started dropping somewhat steadily over the past several years?
mike50333: ROFLMAO Black college attendance has dropped because of discrimination? With affirmative action being affirmed in colleges across the nation, you can make this Wrighty statement?
Dah cause he LIES.. and flipflops. In his race speech in respnose to REv Wright videos he DEFENDED WRIGHT even after seeing all teh stuff on DAMN AMerica, AIDS virus, 9/11, ect.. He siad all churches talk like this on Sunday morning.. His pastor was a good man and these things were taken out of context..Wright jokes about the Kennedy's speech in relation to attacks on Black English and Obama folds, sells out, NOW he says those same Issues Wright spoke on are over the top. OBAMA Is KENNEDY's BOY
sunbeansnflowersluv: Brilliant point. Obama IS Kennedy's boy. He has a lots of payback to Kennedy, Richardson, Kerry, and Casey. Obama thinks the lobbyists are bad, wait 'til he has to quid pro quo with these guys.
B.S. YOu staunchly defended him and said things like that are said in Churches on Sunday mornings and he is like an Uncle and family and I could no longer denounce him than I could denounce my White Grandma.. you knew about Farrakhan, you new about the AIDS comments you defended him until he mocked the KENNEDY's than you coiled up like a wuz and became Kennedy's nigger.
So.. In his more perfect union speech he said he heard the pastor preach these types of sermons? watch a more perfect union starting around 7 minutes in and see this great liar at work, then watch this one at around 3:40.
To bad him and wright can't work this little sceme of theres out right.
Obama didn't throw Wright under the bus, but he has responded to Wright's latest comments (most of which most of his critics don't even understand and didn't even bother to watch -- and most of his critics don't know much about African American culture or the African American church in historic context except for what they see on television). But the point is this is a great American escape from talking about gas prices, unemployment, foreclosure, Iraq, and health insurance.
Look at who the top contributores are to both Clinton and Obama campaigns.
opensecrets(DOT)org
Ask who these candidates will be beholding to if elected. Follow the money to find the truth. Both of these candidates continue the war agenda, you can 'bank' on it.
The lies that he has'nt heard any of rev. wright's comments .. Rev. wright's comments have'nt changed for 20+ years . obama is just trying to stay in the game , but it is over !! I will pray for you in hopes that the Lord brings you back from the dark side .. God Bless
I would like to believe that we serve the same Lord God. I, at least, try not to judge people by their actions and mistakes which were made 20, 30 , or even 90 years ago. I focus on what that individual is doing today. I focus on whether or not this person is trying to help better his community, his city, his state, and in the case of Obama, his country.
Mike50333 you are just starting off in your life and you will find out all of the people going for the Prez. are full of shit and they dont care for you or this country those days were back in WWII . it realy dosnt matter who becomes prez. they wount do what they had told you .
No offense, but exactly which God do you serve? The God I serve doesn't see the need to use profanity. If you look at any one of my posts, I have yet to even use one potentially offensive term. One can live a holy life still in this present world.
Obama is the most genuine person running. 99.9% of the dvd sermons aren't controversial. He's not Rev. Wright and these are simply political games. 8 years of lies and wars to rape the government for money and oil and then you suddenly are clairvoyant about Obama's character? Give me a break. Your judgement is suspect. You probably voted for BUsh over Kerry.
We are no longer going to accept Spin from your corporate owned propaganda pushing Television. You sold us on a C student for 8 years. The Bushes sent the soldiers into Iraq over a Lie!Bankrupted our economy!Ignored an American City in crisis.Stolen Civil liberties in the name of National Security.Tortured Prisoners Of war!Suspended Habeus Corpus.Placed inept people in power.OH and Stolen AN ELECTION! DO US A FAVOR Right WING!on Nov 5th STAY HOME!!!!
Obama has served us here in the state of Illinois honorably and honestly for many years. People who criticize him over these distractions have never even bothered to look at his record, his books, or his policy statements. It's time for the country to have a really strong leader that values the constitution and the American people
Wright's not crazy. He supports Hillary. It is well known that Wright knows the Clintons. He went to the White House during the Clinton administration. he is a Hillary supporter
To be honest, I'm starting to believe that he actually IS a CLinton supporter. He had to have known that acting the way that he did would hurt Obama, politically. Wright is such an egomaniac.
Obama was careful not to mention 'the war' or 'the economy' (the two issues that the American people are most concerned with). This is a news 'story' that follows the same 'hush up about the war' agenda blanketing the media. It's a disservice.
Every man should be judged on his own words, actions, and his own doings. I think we all have someone in our life that many would find objectable in one way or another. I think these relationships keep us balanced, almost like a balance and check of being too far one way or another. Judge a tree by it's fruit, if these words came from Obama I'd be concerned, but just looking at him and listening you can see the hurt, and shame. How do you defend yourself against something someone else did?
I guess my perspective is different. I don't see Obama's relationship with Wright or his church as a mistake or a major lack of judgment. Now, a vote to go to war or support of a summer gas tax freeze are examples of poor judgement.
i don't think obama completely agrees with what he's saying. he doesn't seem genuine or committed to his statements here. when typically he makes an assertion he believes true, his faith in the truth provides him confidence, and his confidence is what gives him his eloquence. he seems very uncomfortable, perhaps torn now between his religious beliefs which must become private in order to maintain his candidacy. part of him i think wants to defend his pastor. he did not convince me here.
Enough... this should be about the real issues. Why do we get distracted by such pettiness. Sad that the media does not move on and "help" the American people clearly see each candidate for himself.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
After 23 years of this noxious relationship with this clown black supremacist disgusting bigot, Obama NOW denounces him as he is trying to become President of this country? Fucking liberals have really done it this time, trying to put a far-left extremist who hates this country inside the Oval office! The Democratic Party is dissolving in front of our eyes, their dysfunctional selves have finally caught up with them!
As for Obama's pathetic press interview: too little, too late. Farewell.
Obama had ever heard Wright's shocking statements during the twenty years Obama has been part of the congregation? I guess this means Obama hardly attends his own church.
obama is a true house nigga. i really think obama would harm his own family just to put a smile on a white mans face. i would not vote for this fool 2012.

The gas holiday saves constituents only .30 per day and UP TO $28.00 over the 3 month period in which it would be effective.
We need someone like Obama in the White House.

msjoje: You forget the 300,000 ex-soldiers suffering from stress disorder and the thousands who are missing limbs. Are you proud of the politicians who voted for this (hint: Clinton, McCain)?
DrCynic1 3 years ago
DrCynic1: Oh, I get it! Michelle Obama did not have a reason to be proud of her country, until now, until she was 4o+ because of the war. She did not look at the sacrifices our men have made and feel proud that we have men so patriotic that their belief is "Our country, Right or WRong", and will put their life and limbs on the line for their fellow Americans.
This was an illegal war. Sen Clinton did not vote for war.
msjoje 3 years ago
She misspoke. No big deal. So does Hillary when she talks about obliterating Iran. Except Michelle is not running for President, Hillary is. And yes, Hillary voted for the war.
DrCynic1 3 years ago
Dr.Cynic: Michelle, No misSpoke, misWrong. Michelle wasn't speaking extemporaneously, she was reading a prepared speech. She was speaking for Obama. Wright has had a big influence on them both, and her remark of not being proud of America before, was written down and a remark Wright would have said.
No, Sen clinton voted for a resolution, not a declaration of war.
msjoje 3 years ago
Clinton would lose the general election for sure.
DrCynic1 3 years ago
I can understand that, but exactly what are they fighting for anymore? There has yet to be a clear objective outside of creating a "Democracy" in Iraq, and creating stability in neighboring countries. Our current President fails to see this, and basically sends our men out to the slaughter. I'm just as proud of our men and women, but I'm anything but proud of this war.

I know. The ignorant name calling and fear mongering is really getting out of hand. It's a shame that one of our former Presidents has reverted to dirty politics. Evidently, he has failed to stay true to his Democratic roots in that regard.
mike50333 3 years ago

Birds of a feather flock together. How true!
simon6071 3 years ago
So anyone who supports Obama is a traitor of their faith and their country? What a bunch of bull. That's no better than saying that every black person who supports clinton is a traitor of the black public. And I dare you to try and find the difference between these.
mike50333 3 years ago
We are not supposed to vote according to race.
We are supposed to vote according to belief. When someone votes or turns against his long time belief or friend to secure personal gain, that is betrayal. Blacks voting for Hillary or McCain are not traitors if they share the belief of the candidate they vote for.
simon6071 3 years ago
I agree. But if someone disagrees with, for example, an individual's manner of campaigning, then that, at least in my book, is not betrayal. I'm not suggesting that this is what you're saying, I'm just making an additional point.
mike50333 3 years ago

What makes our scenario any more special than those?
mike50333 3 years ago
Clinton and McCain don't think they're morally better than one another-they just disagree with each other. Senator Obama believes he is the morally superior candidate, and as such deserves to be held to this standard.
For that matter, the only people who threw Geraldine Ferraro under the bus are the Obama campaign, with their seething and hypocritical accusations of racism.
Get a grip Mike50333. The only paranoid White Person in this contest is named Barack Obama.
Devin1498 3 years ago
You know what? Your statement is so full of bull.
Firstly, Obama doesn't think he's Almighty God. He knows that he isn't morally correct. He know's he isn't perfect. His wife and kids remind him of that on a daily basis. Secondly, Geraldine Ferraro's comments were racist. What do you think it's called when you say "the only reason someone is as popular as they are is because they're black?" She undermined his achievements and mocked his race simultaneously.
White bigots are paranoid.
mike50333 3 years ago

I've heard the crap between Obama and Wright for over a month. For over a month, I've been saying that they have no current association in the past. They've had a past relationship, but as of last week, that relationship shattered into potentially irreparable pieces. I've said that Obama does not embrace the hate filled teachings that Wright has sometimes preached over the pulpit, and both in the public and behind closed doors, he's failed to show any embrace.
Now give me another reason.
mike50333 3 years ago
mike50333 you're truly a crack pot high on the Kool-Aid if you buy Obama's myth of dirty poltiics.
Barack Obama modeled his mailings in several primaries directly after the Republican attack ads of Universal Health Care.
Barack Obama doesn't only use dirty politics, he uses the EXACT politics of the 90s that he claims he will deter from!
Reconsider your support. That's the most polite thing I can say.
Devin1498 3 years ago
Then prepare to get nasty 'cause I'm not backing down. What's funny is when his CAMPAIGN does something, you try to say "Obama did this ****! Both campaigns have been duking it out, trying to show their candidate as supreme over the other. It's really how the candidates themselves perform during the primary and electoral races that speaks volumes to the American Public. Hilary Clinton has lead a hate and fear filled campaign, and has no intentions of breaking the habit.
mike50333 3 years ago
Clearly, the only thing Barack Obama is "above" is accountability.
zeiters20 3 years ago
I don't recall where it's stated that someone has to take into account, something another individual says. Last time I checked, it's the person who made the comment or did the action who is supposed to receive the consequences.
mike50333 3 years ago
mike50333: Of course Obama uses dirty politics. But for these pass 7 months, Obama has been trying to convince Americans that he was different, there would be a Change in "politics as usual". You've just admitted he uses the same tactics all politicians have used since the Golden Age of Greece! No change, no Hope!
Watch your butt, as you back down.
msjoje 3 years ago
I stated that his CAMPAIGN uses dirty politics, as does Clinton's and McCain's. However, I also said that Obama has yet to stoop to the low that Clinton has. Heck, even McCain is keeping his dignity in this race...though that could be because he's the only republican now.
You really should analyze a person's posts before saying anything. And for the record, I will not back down. To you, I will never back down.
mike50333 3 years ago
mike50333: That's the spirit,Mikey. Denial in the face of facts. All 3 senators are responsible for their campaigns and therefore their staffs. It's disingenuous to claim Obama's not doing dirty tricks.
If you are measuring dignity, Obama's has been mightily sullied by Wright. It's not dignified to throw your spiritual adviser under the bus.
msjoje 3 years ago
I would suppose it is when-
You know what, I'm done.
I'm done.
mike50333 3 years ago
mike50333: Goodness, I don't hate anyone. Or is it?
msjoje 3 years ago

Okay let me get this straight. First you all criticize Obama for defending Wrights "racial" views, and now you criticize him for denouncing his views? I don't think Rev. Read the book Obama wrote on 2006 read it all, see what the man really thinks before all this crap started, let's don't be fooled by the older generation and start thinking for ourselves. Obama CAN'T be hold ACCOUNTABLE for that other crazy person

God Bless.

Obama in 08
bms4lifem3 3 years ago
Obama is the most genuine person running. 99.9% of the dvd sermons aren't controversial. He's not Rev. Wright and these are simply political games. 8 years of lies and wars to rape the government for money and oil and then you suddenly are clairvoyant about Obama's character? Give me a break. Your judgement is suspect. You probably voted for BUsh over Kerry.

Obama has served us here in the state of Illinois honorably and honestly for many years. People who criticize him over these distractions have never even bothered to look at his record, his books, or his policy statements. It's time for the country to have a really strong leader that values the constitution and the American people

If people fall for this BS from BHO, I have a nice bridge in New Jersey I can sell you, real cheap.

Seeing as it's in New Jersey, it'll probably topple the second you buy it anyway.

Wright's not crazy. He supports Hillary. It is well known that Wright knows the Clintons. He went to the White House during the Clinton administration. he is a Hillary supporter
keren7 3 years ago 2
To be honest, I'm starting to believe that he actually IS a CLinton supporter. He had to have known that acting the way that he did would hurt Obama, politically. Wright is such an egomaniac.

The press needs to be more concerned about the shady business goin on in the White House than this BS.

obama's bottomline is " the church is not Rev wright. Rev wright is not the church". He is there for the faith in God.
Hopeflly people see throught that..good and brave on you, obama!

Obama was careful not to mention 'the war' or 'the economy' (the two issues that the American people are most concerned with). This is a news 'story' that follows the same 'hush up about the war' agenda blanketing the media. It's a disservice.
mete1954 3 years ago
?????????
Press conference is a response to Rev. Wright.
Obama's talked about the economy and the war in 99.9% of his press conferences and speeches. The media is doing a disservice to the public not Obama.

"The media is doing a disservice to the public not Obama".
That was my point.

I don't want to see our sons and daughters spend another minute in Iraq. Can we please get beyond this now and talk about real issues?

BlueStarMOm43: Obama's lack of judgment IS an issue.
msjoje 3 years ago
I guess my perspective is different. I don't see Obama's relationship with Wright or his church as a mistake or a major lack of judgment. Now, a vote to go to war or support of a summer gas tax freeze are examples of poor judgement.
BlueStarMom43 3 years ago
BlueStarMom43: LOL You've got to be kidding.
msjoje 3 years ago
i don't think obama completely agrees with what he's saying. he doesn't seem genuine or committed to his statements here. when typically he makes an assertion he believes true, his faith in the truth provides him confidence, and his confidence is what gives him his eloquence. he seems very uncomfortable, perhaps torn now between his religious beliefs which must become private in order to maintain his candidacy. part of him i think wants to defend his pastor. he did not convince me here.
atchan77 3 years ago
Enough... this should be about the real issues. Why do we get distracted by such pettiness. Sad that the media does not move on and "help" the American people clearly see each candidate for himself.

As is Hilary's.

obama was talking about hilary's poor judge of character, and now look at him, and all of a sudden he is denouncing his pastor??? unbeleivable

This comment has received too many negative votes show
After 23 years of this noxious relationship with this clown black supremacist disgusting bigot, Obama NOW denounces him as he is trying to become President of this country? Fucking liberals have really done it this time, trying to put a far-left extremist who hates this country inside the Oval office! The Democratic Party is dissolving in front of our eyes, their dysfunctional selves have finally caught up with them!
As for Obama's pathetic press interview: too little, too late. Farewell.

Poor Rev. Wright, he thought he had a friend. Awe.
beautifulprincessM 3 years ago
Obama had ever heard Wright's shocking statements during the twenty years Obama has been part of the congregation? I guess this means Obama hardly attends his own church.
