The FQ-400 is nice, but it's not worth the money IMHO. There are newer turbo's such as the Evo Green or twin scroll GT30's that do NOT have the lag of this, and are easily capable of 500hp... add some supporting mods and coilovers and the Evo WOULD overtake the Lambo

That's the whole point of the article! I can't understand why some car owners take themselves so seriously - the 2nd part shows the immense turbo lag, terrible turning circle, fearsome clutch etc.

Just to show how some situations favour certain cars, I challenge anyone on here to a 0-110km/h drag - (straight line of course) with my 35 year old 26bhp saloon car. I guarantee I will beat you everytime. And you can find whichever gear you find most suitable, so no cheating there.

The turning circle is bad indeed :) But the turbolag isn't that bad on a "normall" evo then on the FQ-400 version. Mine is still stock and when you look on my videos you can find a movie that i've made at low rpm and flooring the gas.under 3k rpm it isn't very fast, but still as fast as my car i had before this one (150hp VW Jetta). What car do you have with 26bhp?? I can harly believe you can out-accelerate a sports-car with that..... :)

Just to clarify, that is not a factory built Evo at all. It is a UK spec Lancer Evolution VIII MR FQ400 of which only 100 were built and purchased through Mitsubishi Ralliart dealers.. It was a joint development project in the UK by Mitsubishi Motors UK's motor sports department, in association with tuning specialists Rampage, Owen Developments and Flow Race Engines.

Well, you're right. A stock Evo doesn't. He's talking about the British upgrade. I think there's three different versions you can buy in England, all of which have more boost than the US-spec Evo. EPA won't allow the 400-hp into the country, I'm sure. Grey-market, maybe.
