  • maybe its the driver than DOESNT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE A STICK... but a REAL 427 cobra would just do from 10.5 sec to 12 secs in a 1/4 mile race.

    depends of the dirver...

  • Its no way a stock Cobra can beat a ZR1... with a little work then can be monsters though.. Same with the ZR1... That car is like 50 years old, its no way it can run with a 11 sec ZR1 from the factory..

  • @ralphtime both of these cars probably wont, but i hope you do know the race version of the 427COBRA would spank a zr1, there were few 427ac cobras offered to the public in only a detuned street 427 version and origanally 260 and 289hi-po. but correct me if im wrong isnt the zr1 supercharged?

  • @ralphtime Yes, actually it could.

  • Why didn't it win? Probably because it had a chev engine rather than the 427 boss.

  • @DeathCoreGamer 427boss? i never heard of a 427BOSS!!

  • Next time, get a designated sober person to operate the camera (*_~)

  • these shelby's can beat almost anything ! This isnt a real one

  • it could be interesting to see one of these suckers with a 460...

  • Its an Orig anal Cobra

  • Why the fuck are you two babbling about diesel trucks? Here's how the break down on that would go...

    1. Dodge...last longer, sorry

    2. Ford...make gobs of power

    3. Chevy...best parts availability

Keep in mind here guys that I'm partial to Fords myself...just being honest, ya know?

And, as for the video...I thought that Cobra was going to eat that Mustang...cool video.

  • mounted to an auto transmission as well..christ

  • my 405hp small block replica cobra managed a 12.34/114 on street tyres with the wheels spinning through 1st/2nd and 3rd. No idea what motor was in the replica (cos its no original... why call is that???) but it needs some working on. An original with a 427 side oiler big block would frighten the stang off the track! :-)

  • Even if it is replica... that Cobra laid off the gas. Those babies scream!

  • Agree...just purchased a factory five 5.0 supercharged...its redic...whoever drove that ...just horrid

  • must have been another engine than the 427

  • aaaaaaah I WANT!!!!!

shelby cobra is my dream car

  • Something must have been seriously wrong with that Cobra. Ive seen that car beat a brand new Zr1 vette like it was nothing!

  • @cartman69311 I was thinking the same thing!

  • @cartman69311 none of them are the same. there is only one left and the rest are kit cars. so its just like most of the rods you see running around town. thats why one beat the zr1... that and the fact its a soda can with wheels and a motor.

  • @cartman69311 Yeah well the cobra that beat the zr1 had a corvette engine in it.. You can never expect it to see the zr1 with a 427 ford engine.

  • @cartman69311 Its because it was running a Chevy engine

  • i think if you lift the hood it probably says Superformance under there somewhere...no way that's a real cobra sucking ass that hard. Been in one...driven one...that sadly is not even a remote likeness of the real beast. It would have pounded the holy bejesus out of that new age pile...all I'm sayin.

  • I know why he got beat!! The emblem on the air cleaner that reads: "LS6 Corvete" (corvette spelled with only one t) damn Chinese knockoffs!

  • @rmcjr1 why are you bringing up Chevy's?

  • @jordtizzle

(in a way carroll shelby and Chevrolet are linked)

because MR.Shelby went to GM/Chevrolet and asked if he could have a couple of engines for the first few cobras but they said no...something to do with the Corvette...long story short ford said yes.

(Now could you imagine if had got the engines from GM?)

all this later drove GM to "produce" the Bill Tomas Cheetah which horribly do to lack of publicity...both are grate looking car though.

  • @brooklyntheredone the only link is he asked other than that nothing. and cars would have sucked

  • @brooklyntheredone Yeah but nothing will ever beat the 427 Shelby Cobra. Sorry bub but trying your attempt at trying to say Chevy is better is horribly wrong, Because yeah Chevy is fast but once you dig down deep into Ford Closet Chevy don't stand a Chance. If this car was powered by GM It wouldn't be near the car it was.

  • @14omega28ok Huh? Where do you come up with your metaphorical shit? I love Ford cars & not going to say anything bad, but to claim there is some kind of Ford Closet & Chevy not standing a chance is a FUCKING JOKE! Chevy power plants are found in MORE muscle/race cars then any other put together! There are more Mustangs with Chevy motors AKA (Bastard Child) then vise versa. Sure Jon Kaase Racing Engines are the shit but LS or LSX with same recipe & investments is way BETTER!

  • @AndreTwin Chevy is horrible, I've owned more then you ever will so I know. Every Chevy I've had has been nothing but problems, Plus it ran like shit, Handled like shit, Throttle response was shit, Felt real hesitant to take off, Couldn't pull worth a shit. I have literally 3 Camaros and 7 Chevy Trucks sitting on my place that are in serious need of new Engines that require more to fix it then the cars worth. The Camaros have no more then 100,000 miles. My Ford on the other hand 650k still runs

  • @14omega28ok Where do you come up with this SHIT? Seriously? There are more Chevy motors in Ford race cars then Ford motors in Chevys. Your whole claim that Ford has a better engines then Chevy is a fucking JOKE! They put LS based motors in Muslers, Ultima GTR, Ultimate Aro SSC, Venum GT most hot rods & race cars. LS platform out does any platform about there in regards to parts & reliability hence a famous slogan "Build Ford tough with Chevy stuff" And I am a Porsche guy telling you this!

  • @AndreTwin As I said I've owned more Chevy's then you ever will and I know from experience. Every Chevy just about I've been in the 4 wheel drive was out, Everyone one of the Chevies I've had has had horrible power, poor throttle response, could not pull. My Ford on the other hand I put my foot into that bitch moves, it don't matter what you have behind it or what you're doing with it. and thats a damn 1974 Model. It was my first and last truck. I wish Chevy was better they look better.

  • @14omega28ok What does you owning Chevy's & 4 wheeling have to do with high performance division of Chevrolet? Your experience with Chevy is a JOKE! I race & have been in the racing circuit for years since 1996. I am a co-founder of IPD we make plenums for Porsche performance market.

I am not a Chevy nor Ford guy! I am the one who spent enough time in the industry to prove you wrong about some kind of FORD closet! GM is the LEADER in performance/aftermarket parts & in NO WAY Ford is better!

  • @AndreTwin As I've said I've owned more Chevys then you ever will. I've drove zr1 Corvettes, SS RS Z28 Camaros, OWNED Everyone of their trucks, El Camino, Bel airs, Impalas, Monte Carlo, Almost every year of Cadillac, Blazer .Fuck I could go on and on. I will admit the Corvettes were quick and I wouldn't mind owning one. But every Chevy I've had has been nothing but fucking problems. MAJOR problems. that was being nice on them. My Ford has been through HELL and has only had minor problems.

  • @14omega28ok I've owned 93 GMC Typhoon fully build from 97-00 Now I own 91 GMC Syclone that is a daily driver & runs low 10s all day long in it's street form. I've owned 2 3500 Duallys & still tow my trailer with race car & equipment using my GMC 3500HD Duramax dually with 6-speed Allison. If you are going to blab about trucks & longevity then nothing touched Cummins NOT FORD NOT CHEVY!

Back to square ONE in Performance division that's where the argument started Chevy is FAR better then FORD!

  • @AndreTwin Lol okay go on believing that, that Chevy is better then Ford Lol. That explains why I couldn't pull my Ford out of some ruts before. That explains why it quit half way to Kansas with a 36,000 pound load. Yeah. Go on kid believe that

  • @14omega28ok Numb Nuts! You are comparing some BS experience that you had with your trucks to high performance applications! As I said that when it comes to high performance market & availability of parts and overall performance Chevy out performs Ford! Plain & fucking simple! And as for trucks longivity goes NOTHING touches Cummins NOTHING! Even my Duramax is better then Ford I get over 20 MPH with my Allison 6 speed in my 3500. And never had any problems!

  • @14omega28ok If all the Chevy's you bought had problems... doesn't make that you an idiot to still buy more?

We have owned plenty of chevy trucks, 3 had well over 250k miles, original engines, and no major problems, just expected maintenance due to age/miles. My old 97 Cutlass had 200k miles and still ran great, burned no oil, and no major maintenance. Your accusations are a joke.

  • @RiceKiller191 Because I've owned just about every brand of truck you can name. All of them that went out. I've had about 20+ different chevy's in my day and they don't last. sorry but the first time you give em' hell they break. I don't use my Ford unless I absolutely have too because that thing is designed to take a load straight too its destination and back and thats it. Its not made to be driven on a regular basis. I've had around 100 different trucks. Trust me my accusations are no joke

  • @14omega28ok if i had 100 different trucks over the years i would be BROKE.

  • @cydonianman Haha I do alot of shit that requires trucks, Alot are given, Some bought, Some barrowed, Some found in salvages, some Built.

  • The weight difference is at least 1500lbs. Either the driver isn't trying or that ebay engine has serious problems... (other than the obvious manufacturer disability)

  • id still take the old one

  • I have been in a real 289 competition the car under full acceleration. The car ran a 11.6 1/4 mile in 1964. Your cobra is not a real cobra please do not call it that. If you want to see a real cobra in action check Dick Smith's 427 competition cobra #198 because it went 198 miles/hr in 1966. I still remember dick's car shaking the hill I was standing on as it passed me at Westwood race track. Only a real cobra is deserving of the title "real cobra" you clearly have never seen one in action.

  • You could hear that the Cobra did nothing off the line. He didn't even get on it for a few seconds. Get a better driver, and see if that Mustang could compete. I am thinking not a chance.

  • i would have thought the old cobra would smoke it haha. i personally like the look of the new cobras and the sound of the supercharger but the old cobras would launch fast as shit

  • Why did you write original or origanal or something then?

  • a LS6 corvete motor. Her purchased the car off of ebay completly origanal but with no motor. He could not get a cobra 427 for it

  • @sullihanau what a gm motor thats blasfamy mr shelby would slap the shit out of that driver and call him a retard

  • @cobraopts7 you do know that shelby went to GM first to try to get motors right????

  • That's a load of crap. What's in the Cobra a four banger?
