@TheBlind97 you could but that's not really what it's designed for. If you absolutely HAVE to use your amp for monitoring then you should come out of the headphone out of the UX1 or UX2 to the guitar input of your amp. Watch your levels though because the headphone out of the TonePort is Line level and your amp is expecting an instrument level signal. If it's too loud you could get clipping or even damage your amp's input.
@hueondemierda you could but that's not really what it was meant for. It's a recording interface and in order for it to work with your amp you'd need to have it connected to your computer via USB. If you're looking for FX for your amp you should check out our "M" series stomp boxes on our website.
@theghost2987 You can do this with an FBV MkII pedal and POD Farm 2. The Setlists feature in POD Farm 2 is what makes this possible. Check out this video tutorial at line6 dot com /community/docs/DOC-2076
is it possible to record multiple tracks at a time. So that you're playing acoustic guitar and you buddy is playing electric guitar and a vocalist is singing together. And all these stuff are recorded in three different track in a DAW. It'll save time. But is it possible or i will have to input one by one?
@prince4d Not with the UX2. You can only record 2 inputs at once with that device. You may want to consider the UX8 which would better suit your needs.
@OneManBandMusic Original red faced TonePorts have been replaced with our newer POD Studio line which comes with POD Farm 1 out of the box as well as a free upgrade to POD Farm 2 when you activate your features in our Line 6 Monkey software.
@Afterlife088 Hello, we have this called out step by step on page 6.2 of the POD Farm recording set up guide. I will send you the link in a PM, but if you go to line6 and click on Support and then do a search on the forums you can find it there.
@line6movies thanks :) i just got it for 1 month its awesome the sound quality is pretty good and im an audiophile its not the quality you get in a professional studio but its comming close :)
The song that you made and recorded can be achieved by using the UX1 as well? besides two mic and guitar ports what would be the difference of the two. one has phantom power but anything else?
If u wanna play in real time and record, is it enough to just have the guitar with instrument cable to the ux1 or ux2 and then ux2 into the pc? Or do you need another interface too?
I m using Sonar 7 and a presonus interface. If let say i plug in the toneport to my pc, will it change my settings of recording?? Or If i wan to record with the toneport, is it i have to change the recording settings?? Can i record my guitar with distortion effects from PODfarm without using as a VST Plugins in Sonar cakewalk 7. If I keeping on using as a Vst plugin for my electric guitar more, it will make my project dropping out!! Just like some heavy guitar software out there!!
Simply plugging in the TonePort to your PC wont change your recording settings. If you want to use the TonePort for recording inside Sonar then yes, you will need to change your settings in Sonar. All recording apps work like this. You can record your distortion with the standalone version of POD Farm instead of the plug in but you will still need to change your recording settings in Sonar.
POD Farm works as a Stand Alone application with our TonePort devices only. This is because they do not have on board processing. It can also be used as a VST plug in and Ableton Live Lite can indeed handle it as well as other plug ins like EZ Drummer.
Yes you can. The interface doesn't matter at all. You just need to make sure you have pointed out to Cubase where to find the POD Farm plug in. Also make sure your other interface is configured correctly in your Device Setup menu.
Mainly inputs and outputs. The UX2 has 2 XLR Mic inputs as opposed to one. It has SPDIF digital out as well and supplies phantom power to condenser mics.
@jamesnincross You need a different program (like Ableton, Reaper, Cubase or Protools) if you want to record. The program that comes along with the Toneport is only to create the sounds themselves, not to record them.
@jamesnincross Ableton Live Lite comes with Toneport, so you can record right out of the box. If you need tips, please visit Line6 and click on Support. Thanks.
hey, im trying to use the toneport ux2 to record an electronic drumkit so i was going to try to have two lines from the stereo outs on the drum module to the two XLR ins on the interface, but i cant figure out how in ableton live lite 7 to get it to record from the mic inputs. any ideas? thanks!
Can anyone tell me why when I record on Ableton Live 7 and I play what I recorded, why is the sound coming on the (and of the 2nd measure)? I'll wait for the 4 metronome beats and come in on the first beat of the next measure. But when I go back and play it, the sound will not come on the downbeat of the 2nd measure, it'll come on the (and) of the down beat. (2nd measure of playback) 1-AND
Can anyone help me?
Oh yeah, what effects are the guitar using? Are they from Ableton?
You probably got a bad sound card and have some latency or delay. You can change the latency amount if you know how, but I don't use Ableton, I use Sonar. Sounds like you are barely off by half a beat. Just move the whole take back a little so the downbeat lands on the 1 and not the 1-and.
hey, forget mixcraft! try reaper I use line 6 KB 37 which is like Ux2 but with a MIDI keyb. and I use reaper (and audition 3) to record both midi and audio and its great!
None whatsoever. The main differences are with inputs and outputs. The UX2 has 2 mic inputs and a padded instrument input. It also offers phantom power which is necessary to power condenser mics.
hey can you please tell me if UX2 is better than UX1 in terms of recording quality? I don't need many plugs so if there's no difference in the quality I'll just go with UX1. Thanks
can anyone please answer this! I have the toneport ux2 and i have audacity.the problem is when i play, the notes come 1/2 a second later.i thought it was the delay so i have all effects turned off and it still doesnt work.please help.
What you are experiencing is called latency. Locate the Line 6 Audio MIDI control panel. Inside that there is a Buffer Slider. Slide it all the way to the left and then apply the changes. That should help.
If you want to capture your amp in the recording then I'd suggest Micing it up and routing it through the TonePort using the XLR inputs on the device. You can then launch your audio recording application and route the signal from your amp through the TonePort into a track in your recording app.
Make sure you have headphones or powered speakers connected to the TonePort in order to hear your audio. You may also need to configure the TonePort as your main input/output device in FL's preferences.
Once your TonePort is set up and your drivers are installed you can launch GearBox and your guitar or mic signal is automatically sent to and processed by GearBox.
You can use Live's file browser options and save your projects, samples asn audio files to any location you want. You may want to check on the Ableton website and download the manual for Live for in depth knowledge and tips on how to organize your libraries.
Mike, TonePort does come with Gearbox and a Lite version of Ableton Live. All youll need for cables is one USB cable and a pair of headphones or you can connect studio monitors to the 1/4" analog outputs on the back of the TonePort with two mono 1/4" speaker cables.
Does the monitor outputs on the UX1/UX2 send the signal that you have edited with Gearbox? or do you have to connect the monitors to your computer output?
But is there some difference in the SOUND QUALITY between UX1, UX2 and KB37??
Can someone please tell me? and if there are can you tell me exactly how much difference there is, for example if there is some measure for the quality like db, Hz or such...
CAN i connect the amp to it to get the sound out of there

Hey,
Im All New To All This Recording Stuff But...
When Recording With The UX1/UX2, Do You Have To Use The UX's Pre-Set Amp Models And Stompboxes?
Or Can You Just Simply Hook It Up To Your Amp (Staying With Your Original Rig And Simply Record That)
