Elegance and refinement are not, in my eperience, essential characteristics of a good Tanguero. Does he lead each movement effectively? Does he stay centered over his axis? Is he creative in developing the dance? Does he give his partner an opportunity to "finish" the dance and make it about her? Does he exhibit a strong sense of musicality? To all the but the third and the last question, I would give Jose pretty high marks.
