Escaping from Victoria was the greatest thing our family ever did. The poverty in that city is much greater than any tourist can imagin. Here in Ontario I tell people we took bottles to Bottle Depots to earn extra money, but they think I'm joking with them.
Everything is Victoria was a scam, from the cost of a whale watching tour to addmission fee to Buchart Gardens. The houses were over priced, and the list goes on and on. People there even lied about their misfortunes. Glad we escaped.
@Normalman50 i just moved from victoria to ontario this year... because of the housing prices and everything...i love victoria its beautiful and all my family lives there but i couldnt live there anymore... good to visit !
Victoria dumps 100% of all raw liquid human waste directly into the Juan De Fuca straight. The whales and the state of Washington are not to happy about that I'm sure. Victoria is one of those citys where the wealthy control the government, guys like Conrad Black. There is also no "meaningful" employment in Victoria. I escaped and would never live there again. Get an education and then get out, that is my advice to any young person.
