  • Wow thumbs up if you just hate the "music" nowdays

  • @TheRockandroll420 ..... what "music" ...?! what's out there today doesn't qualify as music.....

... thumbs way up with ya...!

  • Just saw this for the first time. I'm 42 years old and shit just got real.

  • 3:55 - pure blues moment =D

  • STILL the best video ever posted on youtube after 4 years of watching it . What a lineup - Blind Owl Wilson , perhaps the best slide guitarist who ever lived , Bob" The Bear " Hite ( could wail with the best of 'em), the immortal Harvey Mandel on guitar - his first gig replacing Henry Vestine , Fito de la Parra on drums and the best bassist ever Larry Taylor - now THIS is real music . Glad I lived it .

  • @Pizzahawk2 just listen to classic rock cds.

  • coolest beard ever to exist.

  • Boy sorry to see the Mole working SO hard trying to keep the drummer's time together.

  • Who could have predicted that little Bobbie Hite from my home town of Torrance would have become "The Bear." We played together in grade school and high school band. He played trumpet then,as did I. Seems he was more serious about music.

  • What a voice this man had, amazing

  • How much does the world miss the Sunflower, the Bear and Alan?

  • amazing

  • amazing

  • well people. I saw them in Rome, 1971 (?) there was no more Vestine but Harvey Mandel on guitar...they were GREAT the same...

  • I love how he keeps dropping the low E on top of everything in the solo, it's just sick!!! Can you imagine what this would have sounded like if he were using a Les Paul??? You would probably soil yourself each time he hit it.

  • @mystinger72 Alan Wilson is playing a 1954 Les Paul gold top guitar in this video. It was the guitar that he usually played

  • This is my fav from this performance, hands down.

  • I was 10 years old and in toronto. I missed one hell of a show.

On the Road Again, over and over and OVER

  • I so love these guys they were brilliant, Drove from Perth to Broome in West Australia and left all the music behind by accident, but found canned heat in the glove box and it got played Soooooooooo much LOL

  • I guess this is alright, but I prefer Justin Bieber, Hannah Montana, and mindless violent rap. And, oh yes, I greatly prefer watching two hours of American Idol.

  • @dlphcoracl its good to see someone who listens to those guys and not being the most ignorant person you could meet

  • @dlphcoracl ur fucking gay

  • i love the joint stuck in the bass headstock.

  • fell on this by accident and i'm blown away !!!!

  • キャントヒート、好きです♪イーブンに聴こえますが..スピーディーピッキングでカッコ良いです♭

  • Excellent blues, absolutely awesome, phenomenal set by Canned Heat !!!

  • The name of the song is "A Change Is Gonna Come" and I agree, epic performance this man can wail. Great band. Love the blues.

  • THE BLUES!!

    I am lost for words!

  • what day did the heat play at woodstock?

  • @roaringwaterbay Saturday aug 16 says wikipedia

  • this is REAL MUSIC

    best perfomance ever

  • how sick would it be if you were that guy on stage...forever famous.

  • Canned Heat is a great name for a band. It refers to alcohol and it evidences their blues roots!

Blind Owl is a real hoot!

  • You can tell how peaceful this show was just from this video. Now a days if someone were to jump up onto the stage and run towards the singer he would get tackled before he got to him, not given a carton of fags

  • 9 people should have been at woodstock to learn to "like" this awesome event .

  • This makes me happy to be dumbass unemployed 20 year old.

  • @eduartito001 pick up a bass or a harmonica my freind

  • how can you tell when a drummer is knocking at your door? The beat slows down! hahahahah just kidding folks

  • 69 i was 16 had long hair and banned from school activities and got the usual abuse ....put you in the army make a man of you........yeh right!!!!

  • the bass player is jammin' his dick off!!!

  • tabs?

  • They not make music, they ARE music. Love it.

Bet someone can teach that? I can! ;)

  • One thing I don't see anyone mentioning is the awesome camera man who was all in there. He gets so close to Larry "The Mole" that it ridiculous, I applaud his great talents.

  • @mattdelo... yeah that was dangerously close

  • I wish I were born in 1950 so I could be at this concert w/ 19 years old and do all the crazu shit they did, listening to this kind of music. I'm sorry for being born in 1985...

  • Super!!!!!!!!!

  • What happened to the footage of them doing On The Road Again? Why was it taken off?

  • Ahaha , I love the way he just steels a ciggie off him

  • Bear Lives!

  • Blind Owl & The Snake trading licks...doesn't get much better imo.

  • Awesome, what song is this?

  • Does anybody know what song this is?

  • @SirCubedThaRyter The music is "Dust My Broom", but The Bear(who apparently knew most of the history`s blues lyrics) sings verses from different blues-classics ; "If You`ve Got A Good Friend", "Turpentine Moan", etc. But the first verses he improvises about what`s going on.

  • @SirCubedThaRyter the song is: Leaving this town

  • if only the doors were at woodstock, it would have been complete, all of the best were there!

  • Boy, you weren't kidding about "excellent" - this is OUTSTANDING!'

  • Fuck internet and porn sites--this is real life....

  • @FutileTheory uhhhh..you sure about the porn site statement? :P

  • that guy loves to play the bass guitar!

  • @ontariobuds

He was the first headbanger to ever live this planet, haha

before heavy metal even existed !

  • I was born long after this performance & I never really knew just how good Canned Heat were! How good would it have been to be there? Love this....love it! So good to see Hite let the fan stay on stage...Pure class.

  • Karl Marx was a rock star!

  • @Calagamberr0 haha fuck yeah

  • Perfect song.

  • The stage crasher looked like Harvey Milk.

  • how can you not love this?

  • best music ever PEACE...... This time was the best....with: Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat, Janis Joplin, John Sebastian, Joe Cocker..etc.... I wish i can be in this time....man..it is so sad

  • best music ever made ... and i was hardly born back in -69 :) ...

  • man i just can't get over it! this music is too good! and i don't give a crap, we're bringing good music back, so everybody, be ready to get united when the music revolution will hit and people will be getting together in the streets and parks to rock out to a new vibe!!

  • @UnitedNewThinkers u are soo right

  • For those who asked, this song is called "A Change is Gonna Come."

  • @Sarc37 What album is this song on?

  • Yeah man Canned Heat rocks, they were here in Belgium yesterday, they really shook the stage up man!

  • i wonder who that man is.. so please reveal yourself!!

  • he's making the lyrics up while singing it?

  • Comment removed

  • Ya No, its amazing... woodstock was 41 years ago and people are still playin the music of " Canned Heat"....I saw them before Woodstock and at Woodstock and many times after that, I moved to California in oct 69 and saw them in san deigo and LA, Tahunga canyon at the strawberry fest, and impromto at the corral..then west coast traveling to San Fran and to some concerts in Oregon and Washington.....these Guys were Fantastic...Try.. BOOGIE House Blues.....

  • Wish the cameraman would have focused more on the guitar players!

  • What's the name of this song? please

  • What's this track called?

  • LOL, gotta have the cigarette on the headstock!

  • I don't think their set was included in the Woodstock movie. Too bad.

  • @daven58100 yes it is...!!!...;)...!!!...

  • @daven58100 Not the original movie, but they added this song to the Director's Cut in 1994.

  • God Almighty I love Canned Heat !! Couldn't find a Canned Heat T shirt so I made my own!!! Boogie on forever!

  • @shakedownstreet48: u'r wrong man as Harvey "The Snake" Mandel, second guitar here at 3:30 is still around playing. The drummer Fito de la Parra also is still alive and playing.

  • @baptist And so is the bass player, Larry Taylor!

  • Vintage Canned Heat is BOOGIE AT IT'S BEST !

  • The 40th anniversary edition of the movie has some bonus video of them doing 'On the Road Again.' 10 minutes of greatness.

  • Does anyone now where i can buy this or put it on my ipod?

  • The song slows down quite a bit as it goes along. They must have been drunk or high, especially the drummer.

  • BEST PEOPLE EVER...

SOO GOOD VIBES..... I cry every time I watch this 7 minutes of peace and music...

WE GONNA BOOGIE IN EVERY PLACE IS POSSIBLE TO BOOGIE!

Rip Bob and Alan.. miss you guys

  • Funny as shit not only dude rushes the stage but bums a smoke and a light, wtf :)

  • They're coming in my town this summer! A little town in Belgium called Verviers ! I still can"t believe it! I'm so happy. It's wonderful, I've never thought I could one day see them. I'm 20 and I will see real legends, they built music history!

  • @TheZochor Only the drummer is still alive. I met him a few years ago. He signed my Woodstock Album. Real nice guy.

  • you never could make a career in music if you were looking like that today

  • Excellent

  • If you like your music folksy and edgy, your lyrics poetic and current and your talent raw then this young Irish guy Conall Toal seems to tick all the boxes. As he's only starting out it would be great if you could give him a look then maybe leave a comment and spread the word! Thanks and enjoy your music.

  • Canned Heat at their best. They weren't the same after Al "Blind Owl" Wilson died in 1970 and it was over for good for me when the Bear died in 1981........And Fito, the drummer passed away a couple of weeks ago.

  • @holymodalrounders27 Fito´s not dead. He´s touring with canned heat as we speak.

  • @Mazraf Thanks Mazraf. I heard of his "passing" fom a copmment I heard on the radio. He's a hellava drummer and may he live forever. Thanks agian for some good news, which is becoming hard to come by. Peace out.mj

  • The late 60s was the ultimate era for noisy blues rock. Would have been fun...

  • that's some powerful stuff, this song defines the woodstock experience.
