Hookblade should help with climbing so the owner could reach a higher ledges. If the hook would be in the half it would be useless.

@InfamousRavage I am telling how it looks in the game. It's not my fault. Actually Ezio should have on the right hand hook and the blade independent of each other. But he has just a hook. And he can stab one's with this curve hook. It doesn't make sense but that's the truth. If the hook would be in the middle of a hidden blade it would be too short to actually reach something. Besides Ezio wouldn't be able to put in the blade like this cause hook wouldn't allow it.

In assassin's creed the hookblade makes you climb faster, but in reality it would only slow someone down. Also, the hookblade requiers that more energy is used when climbing with it than without it. It also inreases the risk of injury or damage to the user's arm and shoulder...possibly the neck, but that might be stretching it. All in all It looks fun to play with, but is rather useless in the field.
