Great song, Brad. I have also written a protest song called "The Ballad of Scott Walker (thirty pieces of silver)" I haven't been able to attract the mean right-wing trolls yet but I'm sure that will come. Stay strong and RECALL WALKER!!
I wondered who would take up the heart and voice of the land following in the path blazed by Joe Hill and Pete Seeger. Solidarity Forever to our brother who sings the pain of the land.
@BradBurnett The reason to eliminate collective bargaining is that because the unions tend to be bargaining with themselves by which I mean the people the unions bargain with are related in some friendly way to them so the unions end up getting unfair deals in their favor. It is bad that the unions will not have a strong a voice, but you need to weigh the good of them not getting the unfair deal as opposed to the bad of them getting beat on by corporations. The odds are not good for the unions.
I like the creativity, but unfortunately it ISNT working. Thats why this was all started, because unions have been bankrupting the state. Its easy to blame it on someone else like the 1% rich minority, but guess what? You ARE the rich minority. Most workers are paid less then unionized ones and have already "suffered" all the different "injustices" Walker is asking for. Getting unions to pay for their benefits IS fairness, you just cant see it. Please, if you can, someone prove me wrong.
@PloK00nsClone Thank you 4 comment about the creativity. Second, thank you for a thoughtful comment rather than just blasting me becuase we disagree. I never have worked for a union. Your view is a straight path of a much larger picture with many more factors at bay. Thankfully, the workers agreed to the cuts weeks ago so there is no need to rehash. All that is left is the act of breaking the unions for an alternate reason than is being presented. This acheives nothing good 4 any of us.
@tjbachman Thank you, I am so glad people care about the song but most importantly, the issues! I would like to get this one out there because it make me feel like I could contribute in some small way.
Good for you for putting the issues to music! The movement needs songs! I'm writing one, too! I love your line about the war on your front lawn and about the need to stand together strong! Keep singing!
@asuburbanprincess Thank you for your support. It means a lot that somebody focused on the words. Good luck with your song and please let me know when you are ready to share it.

I think an average salary of $46,390 that requires a degree is not living better than average. The benefits help a little. We do need to stop spending Billions on the oil war. UN knew the outcome and said NO. Multiple holocausts in Africa rival any other terrorism in numbers but they have no oil to offer. Anyway, the union said they would bend on the money issues. Only Wi needs to bust the union to get out of debt? Something does not add up. None Union states = low ACT/SAT. Check it out.
we have to cut back , Stop Clinton and Obama from giving money we don't have to other countries. We need to take care of our own, if we don't have money for these teachers to live better than most people, then stand up against our government GIVING BILLIONS TO OTHER COUNTRIES.. when is the craziness going to end?
Not until Obama and Soros take over everything......they are the problem, don't you understand that..that is why we have NO money
