Remember when i first heard this tune in 1984 and i thougt that it was the best Motörhead ever, then in 1985 it came out an album with the canadian band Exciter named Long live the loud which sound very similar to this song and thats probably because it was Guy Bidmead that produced both of the albums.

When I was in school, early 80's there was a guy about 13, looked like a Punkrocker and was a (pot) smoker which was not normal at that age back then. But he always had the best Heavy Metal LP's. We became friends. On a saturday afternoon he came to vistit me with a lot of LP's included the "No Remorse" LP. Man, when I first heard the Song "Motorhead", the Hammersmith version. I never heard something like that! Later he told me that when he went home he forgot his bag with albums in the bus.

It's from the album "No Remorse" a best of that their original label, Bronze Records put out in 1984. It's a double album that featured a new song at the end of each side. It's available on CD with a whole bunch of bonus tracks. I highly recommend it.

It's on "No Remorse," which is a collection from the first six albums of the band, plus four bonus "new" tracks, including this one, and "Killed by Death." It's a great way to get a feel for the band's sound and how it evolved. I highly recommend it.

This is from No Remorse, which would probably be a good starting point; the best of the early years and a few songs recorded in 1984. You can't really go wrong with the early albums (Especially Overkill and Ace of Spades), and I'd also recommend 1916, Motorizer and Another Perfect Day.

I honestly don't think there are any bad albums, but as a first album, yeah any of the ones Matthias has recommended are very good. I would also add Rock 'n' Roll (arguably an even more underrated album than Another Perfect Day, though do hunt around for the 2 disc version, its Excellent!) or Live in Brixton as excellent introductory albums. Check out the latest 3 as well (Inferno, Kiss of Death and Motorizer).

At first, I didn't really like Motorizer. I'm not sure exactly why, but it just seemed a bit half-hearted.

I suppose it was just a bit of disappointment because a show got cancelled on me due to Hurricaine Ike, after a couple of times listening to English Rose I realized. "Oh yeah, that still is the best band in the world!"
