  • Signature DaM-FunK track he plays at Funkmosphere in L.A. For years now.

  • Never mind about Pete Rock. He's a borrower. Thia is the original. X

  • @loobycliff

you still gotta give respect to Pete Rock for 1) recognizing it and 2) doing it mad justice in his mix

  • @khakisuitANDting Yes, fair enough - borrowing is a form of respect.

  • Boggie disco dance!!!

  • The intro and harmony sounds a lot like "Skye": The bass line sounds like "Ozone." Good cut.

I was everywhere with this one, ridin all thru the hood with this as the soundtrack. I was just vibin all the way th-ruuuuu! And if I had them..."Flintstones Vitamins" with me, it was a wrap!

and thanks for uploading this jam!!

  • God, Prelude sure had it going. Not only some of the biggest stars in disco, but some obscurer yet super groovy tunes. You can randomly pick up almost anything with that label in some dusty store and it will be enjoyable.

  • all i get from hearing this is, pete rock is a genius

  • sick jam homie

  • Good Groove

  • serious tune!!

  • This just someup the early 1980'S tunes that were coming so fast & furious you had to decide there & then at the records shops which one you had to leave behind. Not the ones to take. This is just another great tune that never got the create for a really truely great period in black music - in regards to Soul/Funk and Rnb music from that time. Even though most of the musicians were using the new technology ( Drum machines or Bass Synthesisers) it was used to make tunes more soulful or funky.

  • Classic FUNK!

  • the essence of boogie lies within these grooves

  • Stingray bass! hell yeah!

  • DID you guys know hes from queensbridge projects in NYC wow there use to be a lot of funk bands there before MARLEY MARL/ROXANNE/SHAN/MOBB DEEP OR NAS. I think its i the drinking water. THIS WAS QUEENSBRIDGE FUNK 1980 BC (before crack) LOL

  • diggin the music !!!

  • Great track I'm now getting into this whole jazz funk/house music thing.

  • ''you stay on my mind...why don't you let your love shhhiiiiiiiiiiinnneee..''

  • That's good 80's stuff - great Prelude track with a great soul groove. Nice seeing the prices rising for this vinyl when you own a good copy!

  • It's true funk.

  • i love deep house and this shit is just as good, even with more funk

  • Feelgood, uplifting, sexy.... Music as it should be....

  • Crad, this is a special track for me. Im really happy that you also posted on your channel. Makes me feel good everytime i hear.

  • Glad you like it bro...thx 4 taking time to comment on my vids!

  • I miss this era as the grooves were more passionate .....Plus they don't even grace us with a middle "8" bar these days unless it some decent "Neo Soul" ...Feeling this though ..Definetely sounds like "Mark Adams" on bass to my ears ...Tough tune

  • Pete Rock used that on Petestrumentals, right?

  • I dunno?

  • @BongholioIglesias I think I've heard it on The Surviving Elements, sounds like he slowed it down just a bit for "Hop, Skip, Jump" Check it: /watch?v=b_R-D3Tf2JU

  • @BongholioIglesias yes he did the songs is call hop skip and jump

  • @BongholioIglesias yup its from "the surviving elements" album

  • @BongholioIglesias Yeah, on Hop, Skip and Jump.

  • @BongholioIglesias Yes he did.

  • @BongholioIglesias It was on Surviving Elements for Hop, Skip, and Jump.

  • @BongholioIglesias who gives a fuck! This song is amazing as it is, chill out sample geeks!

  • @BongholioIglesias "Hop, Skip, Jump" off of The Surviving Elements - From Soul Survivor II Sessions

  • @BongholioIglesias He did

  • @BongholioIglesias - it sounds exactly like it. pete is deep. drawing from such a tune. if you even still use youtube there is your answer.

  • Nice & funky :)

  • Can anyone tell me if this is Mark Adams from SLAVE, breaking out on his own?

  • @RomeTRocK

Not too sure. Certainly does have that AURRA, SLAVE VIBE to it. Quality.

  • @RomeTRocK

Not too sure. Certainly does have that AURRA, SLAVE VIBE to it. Quality.

  • LOVE THIS TUNE TO DEATH!

  • Oh those years...This song, Sharon Redd, the other "star" band: Starpoint band, George Duke, Unlimited Touch, the italo producers like Gino Soccio...all those charts...all music and sound we miss now. Hear the bass line of this song: today Jamiroquai do the same line on some songs...
