I think you could remove the tinted shade itself, but that wouldn't do much, you'd still have all the parts that operate it, which can't really be removed. So not sure it would make sense.
The shade on my FS-10 is as dark as most sunglasses and provides better coverage. The main visor's hinge seems to be quite robust and that is the weak point in any other helmet.
I would seriously buy this just to look like the Stig from Top Gear.

I've had this helmet for years and still like it. I find the sun shade to be helpful and not in the way.

How is the weight of the helmet? Also, what kind of motorcycle do you ride (just so I know what position your body is in).
I'm considering this helmet and also the Scorpion counterpart. Any insight you can give me is greatly appreciated.
