@christom 13.6 @ 103 with simple bolt ons and tune from a NA 4 cylinder is far from slow, it's just when matched up against bolted and tuned turbo cars that it makes it look slow
@yonkersracing mmm doesn't really matter.. being out of the power band isn't any ones excuse except for the car's. If you want to get technical, the WRX was out of it's "powerband" as well and still pulled like crazy both times. He clearly wasn't brake boosting.
The blue WRX was but he's basically stock so it doesn't matter
@christom hmmm being out of the powerband certainly matters, just like a lot of stock turbo cars don't like starting at high RPM because they lose boost up top, whether the turbo is too small or the car just isn't tune...starting from 25mph in 2nd gear was perfect for the WRX and absolutely horrible for the RSX. IDK about you but around here, 40 rolls are most common, no bias, no advantage.
@christom not to mention the WRX was never out of his powerband, my friend tunes them for a living...look him up BRENTUNING. These cars w/ VF turbos make full boost @ around 2500rpm and hold it to redline. But yes, we knew he was going to pull, we just didn't know he wanted to do a 25 roll :/
@yonkersracing that's cool but for the most part is depends on which turbo you're talking about. I do know that none of the VF turbos his FULL boost at 2500 but some of the smaller ones can begin to boost around there. I mean also no mater what rpm a turbo car is at, it still takes some time if minimal to get to peak boost was my point.
@christom maybe I exaggerated a bit on the 2500 rpm comment, but my point is, a tune turbo car will always have a greater power band than a N/A K series or any series for that matter Honda. I understand your point, but when a turbo car is able to make 300wtq @ 3000-4000rpm, that's what is going to happen in the first run. That's my point. We knew the WRX would pull regardless but from a higher MPH/RPM they aren't making as much TQ. Look at any graph for a VF equipped car, tq always drops off
