Un film poignant, tout en sobriété, où François Ozon ne cède à aucune facilité et où Melvil Poupaud n'aurait pu être plus juste.
Cette fois ça n'est pas l'image esthétique (8 femmes) mais l'image métaphorique qui donne du sens au film : on passe de souvenirs d'enfance aux backrooms en passant par une simple aire d'autoroute, sans que cela ne soit décousu.
Le film est dur, mais comment traiter le deuil de soi autrement? Un film à voir : prévoir néanmoins les mouchoirs...
I had just watch the movie and i guess that Melvin Poupard (Romain) is bi in real life as it clearly shown that he is having a full erection while making love with the other dude Sasha and so did he also!!
And yes he's very popular in France as he'd just stared in a very awaited movie which is called Lucky Luke with Jean Dujardin!!

the symbolic representation allows me to believe that he has past. He wouldn't live like that any longer. You can see it when he looks at the small children playig. He saw purity of his youth, a jovial sight to be his last. He has past!
@bluebeanbaby Yeah, that's what the sun (light, LIFE) fading into him "means", that he died. I don't know how else that scene could be interpreted. It's a direct and beautiful way to let him go.

Beautiful movie indeed and i adore both Jeanne Moreau and Melvil Poupaud as actors so i was in heaven when i watched it... ;-)
