As a addendum to your history please note that the US Navy was in Cam Ranh in April or May of 1964 with the Seaplane tender USS Pine Island (AV-12) along with an aircraft from Patrol Squadron 48 (VP48) I was a member of the flight crew (Crew 12) of that aircraft. Why we were there was classified "Secret" at the time.

please look up key word jimmy kasanos and see his story you seem to be very knowledgeable about Cam Rhan bay he witnessed the biggest war crime committed in VIETNAM and served under the infamous Jack Canada I found your pieces very informative and along the lines of my fathers stories thank you
