  • One of these days I'll get off my ass and build a naturalistic vivarium for my P. formosa.

  • i plan on trying a real plant for my A. avic pink toe. this video helped me rob, thanks!

  • were did u get thoes tanks?????????????????

  • were do you buy pothos? golden pothos plants in Ohio?i have a P fascita.. sold to me as a P regalis from petcenter usa lol.... but still looks female and its a awsome T.. mines not agressive though like yours

  • were do you buy pothos? golden pothos plants in Ohio?

  • I guess this pretty much explains my PM question to ya!! thanks for the video rob!! excellent!!

  • @tarantulaguy1976. Have you ever had any parasite problems concerning planting live Golden pothos in your vivariums? Or have any T's died because of having live Golden pothos in your enclosures ?

  • from what i hear spiders are a plants best friend because they eat little pests any idea if that is the case for t's?

  • show how to make those ten gallon tanks on there side

  • hey Rob, i just set up a enclosure for my p cambridgei, and i put a plant called a dieffenbachia in it. I just read up on it and it says that it had a mild toxicity which causes irritation when the plant is chewed, should i worry about this at all? ( i realize tarantulas don't chew in that sense lol)

  • @teleman587063 I would only use pothos

  • @tarantulaguy1976 i actually looked further into it and apparently the golden ponthos has the same calcium oxalate raphides as the dieffenbachia, thanks for the reply though.

  • @zachsworlds I have never had a problem.

  • have you ever had any problems using the fertilizer sticks?

  • keep clicking :30 XD

  • Comment removed

  • @Kev485 I use pothos in every enclosure except dry environments.

  • What type of plants do you recommend using in high humidity enclosures for example like a pink toe tarantula?????

  • where do get the hides from or do make them and can you tell me the care for a pink toe thank you

  • @chiccitarantulas I have not seen any effects frome these plants have been using them for years.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Thank you Rob, that gives me peace of mind. Would like to order some spiders from you. Im all the way out in South Africa, do you send as far as here? Please give some details. Regards

  • @chiccitarantulas I can't ship overseas...sorry :(

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Ok no problem. Have google'd EVERY WHERE an no where could I find the exact measurements of your pokie tanks. Would you mind to share pls? The closest I could find is a 10Gallon that measures 12" x 12" x 18" (Looks like yours +-), what is your medium and large tank measurements please?

  • @chiccitarantulas Actually these plants are used as house plants and are noir poisinous.

  • @tarantulaguy1976

Thank you for your reply Rob. Here is what I found in connection with the poison characteristics.

    wwwdotcesdotncsudotedu/depts/hort/consumer/poison/Epipraudothtm

Please don't take this as an attack, merely adding what I have read. What are your thoughts?. Should a T bite into it, that does happen now and again, will it die? Thank you for all your awesome vids. Regards.

  • Hi Rob, I have read that this plant leafs are poisonous. Question: If a tarantula bite into it, will it die? Reason asking, I once fed one of my Curly's a silkworm, left the silkworm on the leave. The curly ate the silkworm and completely ate the leaf leaving only a small little green ball of spit. This plant poisonous characteristics worries me. :(, but perfect plant other wise. Do I need to worry?

  • Rob I have a bit of a problem with these plants. The leaves are withered. Do you know if its becouse of too much or too little watering? I normally mist just the side of the enclosure, never over the plant.

  • @Zagica Cut back on the water a bit, did you use a fertilizer stick?

  • great video!

could you please tell me what types of plants would you recommend for an emperor scorpion encloser?

  • @DavidFrom209 Probably won't need plants, nothing like this anyways, some people put moss in their enclosures but thats up to you. Mainly you'll just need a good log for hiding in or a rock, shallow water in a dish, and some areas for burrowing in the substrate

  • @Sharkbait132 i have all of that, i just wanted plants for humidity reasons

  • are the t's with taller cages aborial or is this just a genral enclosure

  • @krustypunk3 Yes, those are arboreal cages.

  • i've 6een studying on tarantulas for a6out 3 weeks and i have one pink toe tarantula and i got it a6out 4 days ago and i was wonderin what kind of plants do i need in my enclousure.

  • @pinktoe6 Use the ones in this vid!

  • Snake plants are also good cause they like very low light if any at all, which is good in a Poekie enclosure.

  • I've finished watching all your vids, Now i have to wait for vids :/

    TARANTULA GURU ROBC

  • LOL!so many great ideas!

  • how many tarantula's do you have..?? i like this video thank's

  • Hey Rob..... so, uhmmm.... and where's the water dish?

  • @lyckanthropen I put it in at the end of the vid, they actually real;ly don't need it but I like to have on in there!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 ...u r the best Rob!!!

  • sweet vid...im going to start doing that : )

  • thats a beautiful girl you got there. she is huge. sure that terrarium is big enough lol

  • I gotcha!

  • Hey Rob, I have an oil filled space heater and it works good... but a little too good. My temps have been real high during the day, sometimes as high as 90 when it gets real bad down here in TN. Do you know if there's any product out there out there I could buy to attach to the outlet and then to the radiator to regulate it's temps?

  • @bun10nb0b Yep, you need a 1500 watt regulator!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Do you think I could regulate it's temps by just buying one of those things you attached to the light bulb you were using to heat your mechanical mom?

  • @bun10nb0b It only goes up to 1000 wattts, your heater is 1500

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Hmm, I don't see how one of those would be able to adjust based on the temperature though. But then I guess it wouldn't matter if I had a good thermometer to check. So let me know if I have the right idea here... if I get one those big metal box type regulator/transformers, I can adjust the amount of voltage being used, which would allow me to control the power of the heater?

  • @tarantulaguy1976 hey Rob, can you give me the scientific(latin) names from these plants??

  • how often do you clean their enclosures. I do every year, is that not enough.

  • @Xxjoeynumber1xX I clean there enclosures every week!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 I meant completely taking everything out and cleaning the whole thing like putting new substrate. I wipe off the poop from the glass and clean their water dishes and stuff. Or if im wrong should you completely take out everything every week.

  • @Xxjoeynumber1xX Oh LOL!! I clean the bowls, food items out every week, the glass every 2-3 weeks and the sub every year sometimes longer!!

  • For a little bit, you were using those small palms. Is there a problem with using them? Mine are still growing fine and they don't really have a serious demand for water. They are sustained, but aren't growing miraculously like pothos.

  • @sidewaysonhighways I just like potho's the best LOL!!

  • can you do a vid on how you make the plexi class front doors

  • can you do a vid on how you make the plexi class front doors

  • Great video! I am gonna get these plants for my T`s terrarium!=o)

  • @wikawoo: Yeah a lot of misinformed people will tell you that you need a heat source like a bulb or a heat mat but that's wrong information. Both of those things can overheat a T and kill it. Best to warm them, when necessary, by warming their area with a thermostat controlled oil heater. They don't feel heat like mammals and will sit on a hot spot until they literally cook themselves to death.

  • @wikawoo Bulbs/lamps will stress out your T.

  • Absolutely beautiful Rob! Thanks for the info, and I agree not only making the T feel more safe, but it makes the enclosure nicer to look at.

  • thats a gorgeous T man...

  • Great videos also grat video on the calk aswell!

  • She is so pretty!

  • Your right about them noticing the plants, They may not be able to think much about it but they do know its safety, besides It makes the enclosure less of a brown eye sore. Might as well have a nice plant to look at while the t is hiding deep inside its web and or burrow. for the burrowers it would help keep the dirt more solid and cause less cave in's if any happen.

  • @cole4797 goosd points and also will help cushion a fall, isopods will also feed on any dead leaves!

  • Great Video bro

    keep it up

  • the way your with your T, is the same way im with my frogs. Hopefully some days ill be making this stuff but right now i dont have that much room for ten gallons.

  • i wont a pink tbut my mom dose not like them

  • Rob, if you'd like to add some more color, I suggest trying to find some Wandering Jew. Smaller leaves than pothos, but same kind of habit (roots like crazy from cuttings, too), and is an iridescent purple. Very nice for planting smaller enclosures.

  • can you make a vid on how to make a nice hide

  • @12346steven id like to see that to more based on a terristrial species

  • your enclosures are awesome!

Are you ever going to do another video about your H. Gigas? Or H. Lividum? (I saw you handling one on the giantspiders forum)

    Love watching your videos!

  • You're so smart

  • can't wait for my peds to be big enough for me to start on a set up like that for them!! lol gonna have to do that for my singapore blue. That should be fun lol. Mean girl she is! :)

  • are those good for versi colers ( i cant spell it lol )

  • Should i change all my potting soil substrates to eco-earth Rob? And thank you for this guide as i went to the garden centre and i didnt know what type they were so i got 12 litres of coco fibre (eco earth)

  • she's beautiful.

  • Don't you mean "Plants I use in my enclosures and THEIR care!"

Sorry I could not resist. ;)

  • Loved the video. Going to find out what they're called in Swedish to find them hehe. =) You wrote there instead of their in the info btw. Just so you know, you might not care, just helping, not being a wordnazi or anything.. damn I'm sorry Rob haha Thanks again for the video.

  • My grandma bought my mom one of those plants, shes had it for a long time! it is like 15 feet, my mom has it hanging from the ceiling and she trims it and puts it into cup of water and another one grows, amazing plants. And you always put at the end, Thanks for watching! You're welcome :D:D

  • awsome setups rob always jealous of your collection

  • great video I didn't quite hear what you called the plant though could you tell me the name sorry?

  • @CoralMan24 Golden Potho's

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Thank's T's and enclosures look great love the video's.
