JP, my new idol... I draw inspiration from him because I am a 38 year old player and just falling in love with the game. Watching him play at such an age gives me the boost and confidence.
Persson wasn't far behind Waldner overall back in the day, given that he's still playing and still playing so well he's going to end up as the all time European great
For a man born in 1967, it's great to see a man born in april 1966 play this good in 2011. I guess that something like this went through Boll's head during the match: I can't loose to a 45 year old. I can't loose to a 45 year old. I can't loose to a 45 year old. I can't loose to a 45 year old. Puh, I didn't loose to a 45 year old :-)
@SugiCx honestly he played this well back then, but with the different ball and with a slightly faster step. Truly Persson has really stayed at the same level he was back in his day which is quite impressive.
@Bossiiiii They do quite a lot if I'm not mistaken. I've seen many asian women who are citizens of Euro countries. And if I'm not mistaken there are plenty of asian men as well.
Timo is certainly Europe's No. 1 these days, but there's something special about the last generation of European players. Persson was one of the few who could truly compete against and stand beside the great JO Waldner. Doing so well at this age, is there any doubt Persson is one of table tennis' greatest Legends?

Persson's style of play is so smooth with his great technique. Hence, the longevity in his game.

@Chowqiao the older you get, the more competitive experience u get. however your reflex speed declines as can be seen i the vid
