  • what type of wood did u use?

  • is an 8ft long and 4 ft wide and 4 ft tall enclosure long enough for a black throat monitor

  • @lukeebear47 It should be but it depends on a few factors. How big the monitor is, how much time it gets outside of its enclosure and how active it is. But in general that is a nice sized enclosure.

  • how did you get the heating elements in the cage please tell me

  • wow impreasive

  • Just awesome son !!!!

  • you feed your black throat dog food?

  • @aw8one No, it is a specific food made for monitor's you can buy it at reptile stores, it's called "monitor food". You hydrate it with warm water, let it sit and then serve it.... she loves it and I don't have to run out for rats all the time.

  • gay song?

  • i am wanting to build an encloser for my corn snake, any idea of how much it will cost and how big i will need it to be? (corn snake is fully grown)

any help would be greatly loved

  • how much did it cost to build tht

  • @shanescool1 read the introduction, it explains EVERYTHING.. : )

  • does it get cold since the cage is outside like in winter does it get cold

  • @shanescool1 we are in southern cali, so cold is not as bad as in other parts of the US, but we do have several different heating elements in the enclosure and she does really well. In the rare case we have a storm she comes inside and sleeps in a heated bathroom, but we have only had to do that once.

  • how is she soposed to fit in the hide

  • u have the cage that big for a lizard lol i thouat it was for a snake lol but nice cage

  • at the coldest temperature in winter what would its be outside compared to inside the enclosure. just wondering how much of a difference you have. very awsome enclosure.

  • amazing nice job. did you seal the wood?

  • nice monitor lol i gota build a new enclosure for my tegu

  • you should use those sticks as a ramp to a higher level of the cage like a shelf.

  • You needed to make this inside :P that pwoned :P

  • is he agresive?

  • @TheDutchGamers she is really amazing and gentle, even hangs out with the dogs.

  • dosnt plaxy class get really hot and can burn/kill reptiles?

  • @pickalock865 no.

  • how much money did it cost you to build that?

  • @narutofroever £120.

  • is it just my pc or is this video very laggy??

  • @FISHmann100 lol just your pc man

  • what do you feed that thing dogs

  • @romano008 anything we can catch... LOL (just kidding), she eats monitor food, comes in a bag and you rehydrate it. It's easy and she loves it.

  • nice this music is so necessary lol jk

  • Takes to long showing how to make, we get it. I just want to see how huge the cage is.

  • @SingJiya sorry, but the video was made a few years ago for my son's senior project... we never expected it to be so popular. I will ask it's dimensions and get back to you on that. Also we have been asked to make another video, so soon it will be all about the monitor and her enclosure and not the making of it

  • so did you put sand in the whole enclsoure under the bark/mulch..or just under the hide?

  • @smith12smith The sand is in the entire enclosure. She loves to dig and will create holes in various spots and just chill there.

  • Great vid love it and where on earth di you get a hide that big I will be geting a burm at the end of the summer and something like tha twould be awsome or I would build something!

  • @Ratsnake151 The hide is a pond form that we cut a hole out of and turned upside down. It is waterproof, not expensive and works PERFECT. We found it at a local landscaping store.

  • @trela62 Awesoem thanks!

  • You can also hook up a hose bib in the inside of the inclosure just above the tube, that way you don't even have to bring the hose into the enclosure, just open the hose bib, clean and fill. Just a suggestion.

  • @cichlid62 Thanks, we have a 75 gallon aquarimum pump/heater that works 24/7, it keeps the water filtered, warm and by reversing it we can empty out the pond very quickly.

  • If I may make a suggestion, You can put a 1" clean out plug on the wall side of the water tub and run a 1" pipe out the side of the wall and hook up a 1" shut off valve at the end of it that way when you have to clean it all you do is run the hose in the enclosure, fill the tub and open the other end and as your cleaning the tub, all the dirt is running out through the pipe, when your done, just close the valve and allow it to fill back up.

  • heyyy (: I am getting a black throat monitor soon and my father and I want to build an out door enclosure like you guys did (: (I live in Miami, FL sooo i think that temp will be mostly okay?) I was wondering if you did this all on your own or you looked up blueprints or something? I am at a loss on where to start lol (: please and thank you (((:

  • BIG BIG BIG what is that typ of reptile got

  • where do you live because if i made an outside enclosur it would b 2 cold in the winter

  • Southern CA, right now in the dead of winter it doesn't get under 48 in the middle of the night

  • O i thought you would like heat it somehow.

  • thats really cool. hows this guy doing?you should do an update video..

  • We brought her inside because of the upcoming storms and it's good we did... the 30+mph winds ripped the top of her enclosure off... SOOOOO she is safe and warm and we will have to repair the enclosure, then we will video again

  • where you get all the plexi glass that cheap? under 12 bucks?

  • nice cage i making one bigger then my 8'L by 4' d by 4't the new one i am making is 8 l by 6 deep by 6 t but i have to do mine inside because how cold it get up here in north cal in the winter

  • how much would it cost with out sand??

  • about half as much

  • and what are the dementions?

  • Nice cage man, I've got to build one dk what I'm wanting I have a 9 1/2 redtail boa

  • dude im making plns for my red tail and dont know what to build

  • outside or inside? The boa would do best with climbing materials and hiding spots. I would add flat rocks and some kind of a tree thast easy to take care of, like a ficus. This would make your boa a happy snake. Does the red tail, like ot be in water?

  • @KawasakiRacer723 something similar to this only longer and now as tall,

  • holy shit thats huge

  • holy crap awesome

  • good work bro, would look sweet planted out a bit but meh, good job all the same.

  • looks awesome man, and that will be plenty big

  • thats not gonna be big enough when hes full grown

  • She is full grown

  • was it supposed to be death metal or punk rock because this video is about a BT? Quit being so narrow-minded.

  • nice albig

  • dude you got skills 5*

  • Thanks!! Around $1200 for everything

  • this is the "music" that youtube chose for me, because my kick ass music is licensed.... sucks I know

  • haha that blows so bad

  • how much was the total cost?

  • thats a badass enclosure. is it warm where u are?? so ur monitor can be outside all yr round??? or just during warm weather?? be careful that is doesn't claw the sh*t out of the plywood. ive read that monitors can rip into termite mounds which are tough as hell

  • We are in So. Cali and in the winter time she will have a pigs blanket (heating pad) under the sand and a heat lamp to keep her nice and warm. She is so happy digging in the sand that she hasn't touched the plywood, also she is well fed, so she doesn't display hunting characteristics. Thanks for the compliments.

  • wow that things huge....the cage nice too wat kind of wood is good to use for a beared dragon enclosure?

  • Are you going to keep your bearded indoors or outdoors? You do not need a lot of room for a bearded, but they like to be nice and warm. Since they are not destructive or heavy, you do not need to have heavy wood, even plywood can be used.

  • awesome he is lucky!

  • excellent enclosure! my 2 sons and I are going to start working on this for his savannah, slighlty smaller, best enclosure i've seen so far

  • Thank you for the compliment, the only place I have seen a large monitor so happy is at the zoo. She loves this enclosure, your savannah will thrive in an enclosure like this.

  • im making a reptile enclosure and its going to be wooden with a glass front the glass is going to be shatter proff tempered glass and can someone tell me what wood to make it out of what to coat the wood in so its somewat waterproof and what to put on the bottum because im afraid that if i put wood there it will rot....oh and the tank will be 2m by 40cm with a height of 40cm.

  • There is wood that is treated for use outdoors but it is expensive. Depending on what part of the world you are in, you should ask for a coating that you can brush onto the wood, it's used often for flower planters. Good luck

  • The enclosure is covered with a sheer material to allow light in... THANKS to everyone for all the great comments. She loves it there and is thriving... she comes up to the door when you go to see her.

  • what if it rains

  • awsome video

  • omfg u can actully get in the cage wit her! wanna bulid my lizard a cage lol jk....but seircely good job inpressive!

  • Mate its good to see a good bloke making he's reptiles happy its much better than a small cage for you and vicious good JOB!!

  • Hi, thank you for the feedback. You will need at least one other person to help you, but you won't need a professional. You will need some tools, but you can have your parents rent them from Home Depot if you do not own them. It cost me about $1200, mostly because of how much sand I have in this enclosure, but I am glad I did it because she loves to dig and is having fun making tunnels. I used flexie glass for the door and window area.

  • cool

  • Nothing, it has a roof.. one that allows the sun to come through... its water tight.

  • im wondering what do u do if it rains ???

  • She was in much smaller enclosure that was given to us by her previous owner, it was home made and was 6' x 2' x 3', nice warm and cozy, but gave her no room when we didn't have her out . This enclosure will give her plenty of room whether we are taking her out walking or not. We live in So. California, so winters shouldn't be an issue, but we can always bring her inside if its a bad winter. There is a pig blanket to keep her warm and we will be adding a heating lamp for the winer.

  • wow nice! 5/5 good job!

  • Thanks!!

  • How much did it cost you all together?

  • It cost around $1200 and we needed 3 people working on it at one time. But if you are building an enclosure for a savanna, you will not need anything this large.

  • Thats a lot of money. Is this an outside encloser or inside? Oh great job looks cool 5 stars.

  • Thanks for the kudos, it is an outdoors enclosure. We are using pigs blankets to keep it the right temperature. In the winter we will add heat lights too.

  • what are the dimensions of the encloser

  • 8'h x 8'l x 6'w
