@QuickNukez27 You can play the game on the TV and record on the computer at the same time. You will need three Y-shaped splitters, three double-sided splitter ends to put the needles through, and two double-sided A/V cables that go from both ends. Basically what you do with that is connect one side of the A/V cables to the capture card, and another side that connects to the splitters and the console's A/V cables on the other side, mentioned in the video. They may not be cheap to get this stuff
*continues from last comment* but it should run about $12 or less to get the required materials. Once you have done that, plug the USB 2.0 serial bus adapter into one of the ports and open the InterVideo Home Theater software. If you have put the cables in the right spots and it shows on the screen, you have done it right. I hope this helps.
@Zeldafreak007 I know this is a late comment, but in order for you to use this device with VMwareplayer, you need a legal OS of Windows XP to do so and create a virtual disc that allows you to have hard disk space for that OS. This will allow you to install the InterVideo Home Theater software on that. I do own a GameBridge, but after 1300 videos, that device died on me. I hope I can repair it since the one I own now really isn't giving me the satisfaction I desire.
how to make it work in windows 7: load disc. find every exe, go to properties and select compatibility tab. select winxp sp2. and run as admin (for EVERY exe on the disc!!). then reboot. run install disc. plug in gamebridge. finish install. works fine. got mine running on my pc with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.
I got it halfway working under Vista and really wish the system restore feature worked. I can read audio from it just fine and scaled-down video sometimes, but when I try to do both or to "play" the device in VLC or other webcam/capture software the PC is prone to a hard mouse-won't-move freeze. The app that came with it just says it can't find an Adaptec adapter.
Fortunately I have an XP laptop hanging around. Works better with DV and my webcam, too.
@kjo93 That may be the case, I hardly record myself doing tutorial stuff like this, but since it was negotiable, I have received many questions on how I record my videos which is why I couldn't pass up on the request. Sorry for the late reply.
@thatshowiroll64 - Does it really? I have a Gamebridge that I haven't used in quite some time, just found it a while ago. I am unsure whether to try installing it on my Windows 7 computer, unless I know for sure it works.
@lewisdude24 Why yes it can. You can use those Y-shaped splitters and the dual end connectors along with another double-sided A/V cable that connects to the TV. You should be able to use the InterVideo Home theater to record TV shows. I have done it before and it works. Don't try that with actual DVD's though.
@RaiiNDowN At ALL? I'd think you could swerve the system similarly to Vista (as long as its 32-bit).
My experience with 7 is just about every trick that worked in Vista works in 7. 7 wasn't a huge step-up from Vista in my eyes. The only thing it did better was find a driver for something on my laptop that I wasn't able to get working in Vista.
what parts do i need from radioshack? i want to play on my tv still while it will record on the computer. i know i need a y splitter for my cords, but do you recommend anything in particular? i don't want to randomly buy something and it doesnt work :O
@siggyxlegiit You will need three Y-shaped splitter cables and three female to female ends that connects to the needles of the Y-shaped cable. I have paid at least $10 for the parts.
@GSUTactical Sorry for the very late reply, you will need a double-sided set of audio/visual cables so one side can go to the TV, and one onto the capture card. You will need three female to female double sided splitters mentioned in the video as well as three Y-shaped splitters. You can find those at Radio Shack or any other electronic store. This will hook up the capture card, the A/V cable from the console and the one from the television together so you can record videos and play the game.
Awesome video just wonder cus i think im gonna buy this but there is no colored cords connected to my tv they are in my xbox but not connected to my tv but it still works. How will that work for gamebridge? cus it seems like i they dont do anything like picture or sounds if u answer this ur awesome.
@pernefalk123 Well, this is outdated technology and I would recommend something different. If you have Windows XP or Windows Vista, you can hook up the capture card onto those operating systems. The Adaptec GameBridge AVC-1400 will not work with Windows 7, believe me I have tried. The Pinnacle Video Transfer or a Dazzle is your best bet, but if you have XP or Vista for the GameBridge, you are set.
I'm not sure you can answer this but I might as well ask: does this software ONLY respond to the GameBridge or can it respond to other capture devices? Because I have a Diamond VC600 USB video capture unit that will work in x64 Windows 7 and I'm in the market for some good capture software. Right now I use DScaler but my opinion of it is only moderate satisfaction at best.
@HinataChan30 It will only respond to the GameBridge itself, some people have tried using Windows Movie Maker to record with it since Windows 7 is not compatible with this device. I use an EasyCap USB 2.0 and a Pinnacle Video Transfer now. I would say that if you want to record stuff from the capture cards of an older operating system such as XP or Vista onto Windows 7, VMware Player and a copy of the OS is recommended to initiate this kind of procedure.
@gerard702 Adaptec is no longer updating their software. I have been checking Tech Support for months now and they are not going to do anything. I recommend a Pinnacle Video Transfer for recording or a Dazzle. Adaptec is pretty much outdated software that only works on Windows XP SP3.
ay dude i got a gamebridge but i lost the CD is there somewhere i can download it at..? or how can i get one..? and one more thing does it work for a windos 7 64 bit,,? plezz help me out thanks
@iiTzBuTTeRz , The website of Adaptec no longer offers technical assistance so you are out of luck....I do have a Windows 7 64 bit OS and I still have my software so I might test it on here and post a video on how I did it. This might not be easy as it seems since I have never tried it before.
That also happens for Windows Vista but PhoenixReview's tutorial bypassed that problem. If you delete the software from a computer that uses this operating software, chances are that your CD drive and USB outputs won't work after the InterVideo Home Theater software is removed.
Did you happen to see PhoenixReview's video tutorial on how to set it up for Windows Vista? That video of his will definitely help and it works the same way for Windows 7.
when I try to install the disc it says that the system memory isn't high enough. Remember trying the same system on my old laptop and that one is nothing compared to the one I got myself now.
I saw that setup tutorial for PhoenixReview and that works, too. The only problem is that if you fail to set it up right, the USB cable on the device will not be recognized by the computer. My Acer Extensa 5420 model laptop had that problem and my USB and CD drive did not work and I had to undergo three repairs. Like I had said before, I'm not sure there are videos to get this working on Windows 7, however, it may be the same setup process like how I installed it for Vista.
@tangbein yes it works on windows 7 i bought this device at a thrift store for 4 bucks i didnt think it was gonna be all that good but it was playing my 360 and left4dead2 fine with very little lag all i need is some more ram and a better graphics card and it will be perfect. only thing was remote isnt working dont know if its because of windows 7 or battery is dead. but we it was $4
Thanks for clearing that up. I do want to get a new computer with Windows 7 on it because I am not liking Vista entirely due to hundreds of failed updates, unexpected resetting, 12 blue screen errors and more.
well if you have the original installation disc like i do. you run the auto setup first just go through it and when it fails. browse the disc folder and look for a folder that say software or program something like that and right click the exe file choose to run as administrator and it should finish up by its self... i have windows 7 ultimate x32 im pretty sure the other version will work.. another thing idk if its my motherboard but i have issues when switching usb ports for this device.
I see. I get the same problem by switching USB ports for Vista Home Premium x32. There was another problem that if I did uninstall the actual software, my CD drive and USB ports won't function anymore.
I'm not familiar with PAL related settings but there is an optional program that comes with the software called InterVideo Home Theater Config and what this does is let you change brightness, contrast and the differences from NTSC to PAL. Click on that program name and make sure your GameBridge is connected to a USB port. Next click the regional setup tab and click on the video standard arrow. and there will be six different PAL settings. I'm not sure which one is the right one though.
I have windows 7, and I tried to do the thing for it but my driver is not found for my device.
