I think that Vocaloids and their seiyuus both awesome and serve different purposes. Vocaloids will never sound exactly like real singers, but are immortal, will sing for any song, and sing exactly the way you intend for her to. Real singers will sound the most natural and emotional but are limited to the nature of the human body.
Everyone is discussing Vocaloids, no one appears to mention the song.
I'm an IT guy and I noticed that "crystal quartz" might mean the thing that is closest to the real heart of a computer - the frequency generator. Asked some friends with Japanese and, apparently, this IS the intended meaning, and the text is a deep robot song rivaling Cosmo-P's famous series. Yet for some reason this just never comes up.
ya but real singers cant be everywhere at the same time and sing for everyone creating music with the vocaloid program. id say even millions of vocaloid songs are produced by the community, each serves its purpose
I was so suprised that the vocaloids were actually voice based on real voice actors, then i heard the real singers and i don't even remember most of the vocaloids now
Miku with vocalistener will sound almost exactly like Saki (not perfect but really close). It's truly amazing! The scary part is in the future someone might be able to use your voice... maybe even better than you can O.O
If you don't believe me search "Hatsune Miku Prologue Vocalistener". Vocaloid 3 will have Vocalistener (can't wait!!)
@StwabewwyLover Uh, yeah. That was actually the point of my comment.
Her real voice is far better than the Miku program. Although both are the same singer.. they both sound very different. A real voice will always be superior to a vocaloid program, in my opinion.
@Zekkishoku I agree that the voice of a Vocaloid program will never exceed that of a human; however, I believe the purpose of the Vocaloid software is to allow people who have no means to achieve their dreams of becoming an artist, or producer to actually create songs for the public to listen to. It's their way of fulfilling their distant hopes.
@sakurahana1231 I completely agree with you, and that is why I personally love Vocaloids. They are an interesting expansion to music, but people who think they will someday replace real singers are just ridiculous. Then again, I don't think that was their intended purpose to begin with. Vocaloid has become it's own genre, and that's how it should remain.
@Zekkishoku no,this is where you are wrong,sure saki voice is good,and sweet,but no ONE,and i mean NO ONE in the world can beat miku,i mean do you think saki can sing as high as miku? no way!!!!!!
@basaka1999 It all comes down to personal preference. My comment isn't wrong; it's my own opinion. I would never say you are wrong for liking Miku better, but your logic here is rather ridiculous. Just because Miku can hit higher notes than Saki, does not make her a superior "singer". If that's how you judge the quality of vocalists.. your favorite band must be Alvin and the Chipmunks.
@basaka1999 Are you kidding me? Ms. Saki has to make those high pitched vocals to make it even possible to even reach Miku's highest notes. Listen to Golden Day and Missle Ready, those songs prove she can hit high notes (but not like Miku) but that's not how you judge a singer
@SenshiNebula ok ok,i maybe a little overreact that time,sorry,i jusy got a fight for vocaloid and j-pop against k-pop and seeU so i kinda short temperture sorry><
but it still the fact that miku can singer almost everything you wrote for her, her voce go up and down at an amazing speed,i dare and singer in the world can sing Disappearance as fast as her
@basaka1999 Because she's, you know, NOT HUMAN -.- Considering that, it's not amazing at all. Miku is good and all. But she's not human, so she's not perfect. and she never will be. Because you can't capture the same emotion and brilliance of a human voice in a recorded alphabet. I could sing Disappearance as fast. Even faster. All I gotta do is speed it up in Audacity or something. Because THAT'S not the same thing -.-"
@derekhorsley1 ..I know that. As I have said before; that was the point of my argument. Even though they are technically the same voice.. Saki's voice is superior to the Miku program (in my opinion). How many more times am I going to have to explain this? Read before you comment, please.
Wow, now that I heard the real voice behind Miku, whenever I hear the vocaloid voice I get an image of Fujita Saki singing with her nose pinched/ like a chipmunk because that's how Miku sounds when compared with her.
Fujita Saki should do a song about becoming yourself. She should start off as Miku, then gradually use her own voice in the end. That'd be the best song ever <3
I think what makes this different from Miku is that, it has more feelings? I mean she's a human, and she can convey feelings better than a humanoid, since humanoid is computerized. But both are still AWESOME YO.

@aznblackangel Ok, I see your point. but since there isn't just one musician who writes and composes songs for vocaloids, you should rather be a fan of the very artists who produced the songs you like, instead of Vocaloids. I think I would not know most of the artist who write songs for vocaloids if it weren't for vocaloids themselves. (sorry for my bad english, I'm german.)
they based Saki Fujita's vocal match, the fu ah eh ooo ka su my me etc. etc. not her voice...there's a difference , think of it as ventriliquist , there's people that can mimic sounds , and there's the actual voice of a person, it's a synthesis configuration of her voice, and a programmer types words that sound out on the program Vocaloid
You can tell that some of Miku's voice comes from her, but then again they are very different singers when it comes down to it, I think both are great but Miku has her very own special voice (: If that makes any sense, both great singers but not the same.
@kyubiifox95 I'm confused as fuck why you're referring to Miku as a different person or even as a person in the first place... I'm confused as hell about this whole thing. Isn't "Miku" just the computerized, auto-tuned, amongst other things, voice of Fujita Saki? And it's just software right? So is it just like made by random people? And I just saw a "live video". I'm so freakin' confused........
@Typhoon792 It's called "anthropomorphism". Attributing human characteristics to something that isn't. Miku and other Vocaloids are treated by their creators (and fans) as virtual singers, not just a synthesizer program.
As for the "live video", if it's what I think it is, the projection of Miku and her voice is pre-recorded. The music is performed live. Hence it still counts as a "live", even if you don't buy into the idea of thinking of each Vocaloid as a (fictional) person.
@xen84 Well who makes these songs? Who is the fan following actually for and who's the real person getting the revenue/just generally in charge? Is it just random songs? And how are people cheering for something fictional? It's just a computerized program for a voice. I just don't get it...
Who makes the songs? A bunch of random Japanese music composers who bought the 200 dollar Vocaloid software. The fan following isn't for any one person, it's celebrating the work of many independent artists who brought Miku to life.
There's no way Saki Fujita, or any human being for that matter, could amass as large a discography as Miku has in such a short time.
@jmcrow1 Well then, how is it all kept together and how would you actually purchase the songs? Or is it all free?... How do they determine what's the most popular? Who's the band touring with the pre-recorded voice? How did they get just the vocal track? They went and found out who made each individual song and gets it from them? Who made the animations? Lol, I think you can see why I'm confused. All these questions didn't come up in my head but nothing added up as I watched...
Who keeps i together? No one really, it's a subculture. It's sort of an off shoot from the Japanese indie comics subculture which often involves fanmade works involving famous characters. Indie musicians started using the mascot Miku Hatsune to promote their work. Comics and animations soon followed.
The video sharing site Nico Nico Douga is were the whole thing began to get popular and is more or less the core of the whole thing and I guess provides a way to determine whats popular
Albums were generally published independently, sold online or at conventions and what not. However, the company seizing the popularity of their product recently set up a record label that allows artist to promote their music using their characters while they get a cut.
As for your questions concerning the concerts themselves, well obviously the parent company is responsible for those. As for the band, probably just some folk they hired to perform. Though a year or two ago a smaller event was held that had the songs' original artists performing. (search Mikufes09 if you're curious)
The onstage animations were obviously done for the live shows, probably done by SEGA to promote the Hatsune Miku video game, another result of her growing popularity.
How the company got in contact with the artist is probably through their Nico Nico Douga account, as stated before that's were Vocaloid music started getting popular. The artists probably jumped at the chance to have their work officially recognized by Vocaloid's parent company as well as be promoted in such a grandiose fashion.
As for how they got the vocal track, they either asked the artist or reverse engineered it. It is after all their software.
@jmcrow1 Hmm... Well, it sounds interesting. Not the biggest fan of the music that was chosen but I see a lot of possibilities. It's cool but, I find it sad that people can cheer for computerized music and go to like a concert. It looks like the future where all culture is lost. I'm not bashing it, I truly do find it cool, but I think you can get my sentiments... This just came as a shock to me cause I never knew about this.
What's wrong with computerized music? You seem to forget, the computer is a merely a tool, a musical instrument. What's being cheered on stage isn't just a hologram, what's being celebrated is the culmination of the hard work of many different people.
MIku isn't Saki Fujita; she isn't the cartoon character with blue hair. Miku Hatsune is the culmination of the dreams and hard work of many musicians, illustrators, programmers,and animators.

hatsune miku is based on saki fujita :O

Fujita Saki isn't Miku's Seiyuu. Her voice was just used to create Miku's voice bank.

Good voice! no wonder they took Hatsune Miku from her. As always, the original is better.
yashjinagar 1 year ago
You can tell that some of Miku's voice comes from her, but then again they are very different singers when it comes down to it, I think both are great but Miku has her very own special voice (: If that makes any sense, both great singers but not the same.
kyubiifox95 1 year ago 96
@kyubiifox95 true, Saki, I'm sure had to tweek her voice to record miku, the voice providers dont want their voices to be cloned.

@kyubiifox95 By special do you mean computers? *trolololo*
YetHaterLover 8 months ago
@kyubiifox95 I'm confused as fuck why you're referring to Miku as a different person or even as a person in the first place... I'm confused as hell about this whole thing. Isn't "Miku" just the computerized, auto-tuned, amongst other things, voice of Fujita Saki? And it's just software right? So is it just like made by random people? And I just saw a "live video". I'm so freakin' confused........
Typhoon792 6 months ago
@Typhoon792 It's called "anthropomorphism". Attributing human characteristics to something that isn't. Miku and other Vocaloids are treated by their creators (and fans) as virtual singers, not just a synthesizer program.
As for the "live video", if it's what I think it is, the projection of Miku and her voice is pre-recorded. The music is performed live. Hence it still counts as a "live", even if you don't buy into the idea of thinking of each Vocaloid as a (fictional) person.
xen84 6 months ago
@xen84 Well who makes these songs? Who is the fan following actually for and who's the real person getting the revenue/just generally in charge? Is it just random songs? And how are people cheering for something fictional? It's just a computerized program for a voice. I just don't get it...
Typhoon792 6 months ago
@Typhoon792
Who makes the songs? A bunch of random Japanese music composers who bought the 200 dollar Vocaloid software. The fan following isn't for any one person, it's celebrating the work of many independent artists who brought Miku to life.
There's no way Saki Fujita, or any human being for that matter, could amass as large a discography as Miku has in such a short time.
jmcrow1 6 months ago
@jmcrow1 Well then, how is it all kept together and how would you actually purchase the songs? Or is it all free?... How do they determine what's the most popular? Who's the band touring with the pre-recorded voice? How did they get just the vocal track? They went and found out who made each individual song and gets it from them? Who made the animations? Lol, I think you can see why I'm confused. All these questions didn't come up in my head but nothing added up as I watched...
Typhoon792 6 months ago
@Typhoon792
Who keeps i together? No one really, it's a subculture. It's sort of an off shoot from the Japanese indie comics subculture which often involves fanmade works involving famous characters. Indie musicians started using the mascot Miku Hatsune to promote their work. Comics and animations soon followed.
The video sharing site Nico Nico Douga is were the whole thing began to get popular and is more or less the core of the whole thing and I guess provides a way to determine whats popular
jmcrow1 6 months ago
@Typhoon792
Albums were generally published independently, sold online or at conventions and what not. However, the company seizing the popularity of their product recently set up a record label that allows artist to promote their music using their characters while they get a cut.
jmcrow1 6 months ago
@Typhoon792
As for your questions concerning the concerts themselves, well obviously the parent company is responsible for those. As for the band, probably just some folk they hired to perform. Though a year or two ago a smaller event was held that had the songs' original artists performing. (search Mikufes09 if you're curious)
The onstage animations were obviously done for the live shows, probably done by SEGA to promote the Hatsune Miku video game, another result of her growing popularity.
jmcrow1 6 months ago
@Typhoon792
It is after all their software.
jmcrow1 6 months ago
@jmcrow1 Hmm... Well, it sounds interesting. Not the biggest fan of the music that was chosen but I see a lot of possibilities. It's cool but, I find it sad that people can cheer for computerized music and go to like a concert. It looks like the future where all culture is lost. I'm not bashing it, I truly do find it cool, but I think you can get my sentiments... This just came as a shock to me cause I never knew about this.
Typhoon792 6 months ago
@Typhoon792
I fail to see this as a loss of culture.
