I'm sooo buying a tokai, what series is your's? And I'm also buying a HRM, too bad money is so hard to get!!! And it's gone, before you realise you had it.... Great job man, and an awesome tone..
@GuitarGermany i own the regular OTS, and what i do for that same "problem" is have the tone controls at half way, but some of the treble knocked back to about 3 1/2 or 4. i also turn off the treble switch (with deep and rock switches on) and roll the tone back on my guitar.... worked for me. it took me about a year to really find that sweet spot on the amp
I agree with you, but you can play jazz fusion on anything. This guitar and amp beg to be released to live in tonaliscious freedom. ROCK IT brother! I know you can do it! (But no ICDiceC or Leddy Zeppy!)
I also have been trying to decide on which Overtone I want. I've also been looking at his JTM45 clone. It just seems you can't go wrong with any of Nik's amps!! I have a 18w TMB and it ooozes tone!!
Why does everyone who demos an ODS play fusion jazz? Why can't someone ROCK IT for those of us who like good ol' rock and roll? You're a great player, I know you can awaken the rocker within you! Gimme some crunchy rhythm and blues and show me what that puppy can do when it's not trying to be a Robben Ford or LC wannabe!
The difference is that the HRM has internal adjustment pots to shape the tone of your lead channel to your needs and also has a bit more gain. This was quoted to me by Nik when I ordered mine. I Also have an OTS.
Could someone explain to me what the difference is between all of the overtone specials, bluesmaster, HRM, etc. please? I've been looking at buying one and I don't want to bother Nik with what is probably a dumb question.
Go to the ceriatone website, find Nik's e-mail, and ask him what you'd like to know. He'll tell you.
Overtone is the 80's ODS Dumble. S&M is a brighter version. HRM is the 90's ODS Dumble, with the extra tone circuit post-gain, and more overdrive available.
The HRM seems to the ticket. Basically a clone of what Robben Ford uses. The HRM Bluesmaster is the Larry Carlton version.
@marinblues Brother I know its been along time since this was posted but WOW! That HRM sounds buttery smooth and amazing. I have to get one, I just bought an older handwired Marshall 1987 50 watt and would love another 50 watter to pair with it for a really killer grit, not going for loud just tone. You have personally helped me pick 2 items up, you finalized my decision of reg. OTS or HRM, going HRM, and Jimmy herring told me about the H&K tubefactor and your vid sealed it too.
a little too much gain for my taste, but sounds sweet!

Hi Marinblues,
I have a stock Ceriatone HRM 100 Watt, but mine sounds harsh and fizzy, to much treble at all.
How did you set your tone Stack and what can you recommend to solve that problem?
What is your setting for HRM - Amp in this Video, if you can remember?
Thanks
