To explain TYT commentators question about the Cornyn's critique on tax breaks is quite simple. He clearly states that the tax breaks shouldn't be done as REFUNDABLE TAX CREDITS. The reason why is that under Bush, people got the tax credits at the end of the year, and threw the money into savings and not into consumer spending. Obama's stimulus did however incorporate giving a direct tax cut to the payroll tax, making weekly pay checks higher, so the extra $20 is seen as pocket change & spent

The two sources are from Government or Private Citizens (which includes business/corporations). Since private spending is at an all-time low, the government has to kick their spending into overdrive, or things will get vastly worse.

There are like 4 different Domino's Pizza stores in critical staff condition, and I've seen "now hiring" signs pop up in many places. I'm wondering, if all these places are hiring, and unemployment's almost at 10%, then...what's up?

While the cost of living increases, the average middle class family salary increase is flat, and it's been like that for years. While the Rich get to increase their salary (like CEOs) the workers once again get royally fucked with the same flat wage.

Many of the CEOs today are first-time CEOs, for example, and probably pulled out huge amounts in loans. But instead of using the loans to spend, these soon-to-be CEOs invested in them. There are huge, huge economic risks to take as a CEO, and if they fail because of bad goods and services...well, too bad.

I am not a Republican. This isn't something that is OK when one side does it or the other. It is wrong when any side does it, however I think it is more heart breaking to know that it isn't just one side that has done this now. We got a new president, a democratic house and senate, and look what they are doing, the worst things the Republicans did. To explain TYT commentators question about the Cornyn's critique on tax breaks is quite simple. He clearly states that the tax breaks shouldn't be done as REFUNDABLE TAX CREDITS. The reason why is that under Bush, people got the tax credits at the end of the year, and threw the money into savings and not into consumer spending. Obama's stimulus did however incorporate giving a direct tax cut to the payroll tax, making weekly pay checks higher, so the extra $20 is seen as pocket change & spent

Economics is a balancing act... the money has to continue to flow through the system in order for us to not suffer a complete economic meltdown.
The two sources are from Government or Private Citizens (which includes business/corporations). Since private spending is at an all-time low, the government has to kick their spending into overdrive, or things will get vastly worse.
It's definitely not an ideal situation, but far better than doing nothing at all.

There's a big difference between bad earmarks, and good earmarks.

There are like 4 different Domino's Pizza stores in critical staff condition, and I've seen "now hiring" signs pop up in many places. I myself just applied to Kohl's, and they said they were looking for a lot of people to work sales and as cashiers. I'm wondering, if all these places are hiring, and unemployment's almost at 10%, then...what's up?

While the cost of living increases, the average middle class family salary increase is flat, and it's been like that for years. While the Rich get to increase their salary (like CEOs) the workers once again get royally fucked with the same flat wage.

Many of the CEOs today are first-time CEOs, for example, and probably pulled out huge amounts in loans. But instead of using the loans to spend, these soon-to-be CEOs invested in them. There are huge, huge economic risks to take as a CEO, and if they fail because of bad goods and services...well, too bad.

DEREGULATION is a VERY short term solution. Just look at the housing market. The housing market was deregulated, many people took advantage, and eventually the bubble popped.
