  • Only idiots actully thought anything was going to happen in december of this year

  • Did we really need NDT do 'debunk' this for us?

  • Comment removed

  • 2012 is only valid if the cosmology behind the 2012 prediction is valid.

    Mayan cosmology is valid?

    OF COURSE NOT

the movie was fun but i had no intention in taking it seriously

  • @Strefanasha

i'll watch 2012 the movie on Dec 22nd 2012 and laugh

  • @Strefanasha What cosmology behind 2012? There isnt anything that the conspiracy nuts have said that is even close to real aside from the fact that they point out the fact that the winter solstice will take place on Dec 21, 2012. Other than that, NOTHING the doom and gloom predictors has said is real.

For the love of god, read a damn book or two and educate yourself!

  • Mr Tyson wants direct NASA links? Ok.....

    1. NASA: Rogue Planets Exist

    2. NASA: Solar Maximum Expected For 2012-2013

    3. NASA: DARK MATTER

    4. NASA: DWARF STAR OUTSIDE THE ORT CLOUD

These are all things that NASA has admitted to. Apparently, Mr Tyson needs to do more research. Oh, and no one says the Earth will be destroyed, just that humanity will have a rough time of it.

    .

  • @VonHelton whats your point? Space in all its jumbledness is still fairly ordered. if last year an object did not collide with earth, we have the same probability or close this year of it not happening again. Regardless of the existance of rogue planets (only assumption exists. we have no photos, only posturing) dark matter (which I am unclear why you capitalized..do you know what dark matter is?) and this dwarf star outside the oort cloud..which please correct me me but which star is that?

  • @VonHelton Typing the word "NASA" in front of a headline doesn't make it a "direct link." Where are the links?

  • Dec. 21st 2012... Apocalypse Party at my house!!!!

  • But it's out of our control if it is then so be it but it's probably just another y2k cuz that was then end of it all to right. It's in gods hands not mine I just don't wana live in any worse police state then we do already and be forced to live as something worse then socialism or Nazi germany I'd fight against that wouldn't we all only if it's not against Jews but neone who won't conform

  • And if things do end then let's hope it's quick n painless n say so long and thanks for all the fish frankly I don't want to survive apocalyptic event what I'd be afraid of is the self fulfilling prophecy radicals staging or causing catastrophe or nuclear warfare

  • Ok so if it's true and really is the end of the world then why the fuck even bother with coffins if well all be dead who the hells going to burry us and do the seed thing? If an event renders our planet uninhabitable

  • im not saying either way... but its hilarious he guesses nimburu (nibiru)... then adds, "... people who didnt take enough science in school..." ...thats some good shit. so where the fuck is this guys science?

    failure

  • @xxxlife187xxx Wow, you absolutely convinced me by pointing out how Neil DeGrasse Tyson didn't even bother to get the name right. I guess he was too busy... Seriously, I'm trying to find a way to clearly point out what's basically wrong with your way of thinking but it's just too aggravating. I hope you're about 12 years old; if you're even a couple years older than that it's just too depressing to me.

Congrats on getting to me in case you're a troll.

  • @Jornev yeah this guys so busy he doesnt have time for "science". people need to research from a number of sources.. not just one or few. this guy doesnt even get close to any science at all. hes a fucking wise ass... a rambling idiot at best.

as for your understanding of the way humankind thinks, we are eaisly manipulated into believing anything... ....and my age is irrelevant, but i am twice that.

    good luck with life

  • @Jornev He obviously doesn't care enough to get the name right! Like you probably don't care enough to study the names of various computer programming codes, unless you're a computer geek.

  • God this monokhem dude is waaaay way way way behind :-/

  • Debunking 2012?! What's next, debunking Santa? Anyone who believes 2012 is the end of the world won't listen to reason anyway.

  • Still so funny that massive skeptics waste there time even looking up these videos... like if you believe in nothing then why not watch something that is of importance to you or something you do believe in. You think you're clever but really you couldn't be more stupid :)

I'm open minded and I like believing that something big might happen. I find it exciting. What do skeptics get out of it? (a genuine question I'm not looking for an argument)

    xxx

  • @vanutra I risk taking you at your word and respond. While the end of the world doomsday scenereo isn't one i put any faith in, and find no evidence for, I find the need within human beings to create such mythologies to be fascinating, and big, and that is something i believe in.

Shallower sceptics might just be looking for a second opinion.

I find watching the next 50 years of human progress to be much more exiting than the prospect of the world ending in 2012.

  • @monokhem I don't believe in the words "the world will end in 2012" but I'm pretty sure something big will happen around then. Something HUGE. Don't you find it strangely coincidental all the natural disasters occurring and not to mention the suns strange behaviour and "comet" Elenin? Is it a comet at all? I've been keeping an eye on this site: hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/index2. php you can click on the symbols and then "details" and "event description."

    xxx

  • @vanutra The natural disasters are always happening. They just seem to be ramping up because you are getting older and starting to notice them. The sun always behaves strange too. There was a solar storm over a hundred years ago that set telegraph offices on fire. Elenin looks like just another comet to me.

This is the kind of thing i find fascinating. You've gathered things that are quite common in human history and added them up to mean some kind of drastic change is comming.

  • @monokhem I'd rather be aware and searching for the truth and possibilities than trying to continuously find ways to cover everything up. I actually find the whole thing very fascinating but not how you do :) I'd hate to see nothing and have the obsessive need to cover everything up as nothing. If you cannot see such simple obvious things, then you never will. You'll still be sat there like "Oh yes look at that! a pole shift, we've had them before!" ...I guess ignorance is bliss ;) ...or denial?

  • Comment removed

  • @monokhem Is it because it scares you so much that you have to cover it up as nothing? If so, don't be scared. There's nothing we can do about it anyway :)

  • @vanutra I'm not covering it up. I've studied history and astronomy enough to see the clear pattern at work here. As an adult I have lived through quite a few "end of the world" scares, and as a History major, I have read about several more. Nothing remotly close to that ever happens. As a student of astronomy I find nothing to compell me to believe that this is any different.

You started saying you weren't looking for an arguement. 3 posts later you are calling me a liar and a coward.

  • @monokhem Wow.... erm... sorry. Clearly hit a nerve :-/ Ok well you sound insanely clever anyway so of course nothing big will happen and all of this is just completely normal.

  • @vanutra Hit a nerve implies that this isn't something most people would be offended by. I assure you that isn't the case. I never though clever would matter to you since this conversation is taking place under a video of a brilliant man who doesn't believe in 2012 either.

  • @monokhem There are so many different levels of clever. There are clever people that do very stupid things. and people that are desperate to be clever and they go out of their way to make themselves look clever. It's like an insecurity. I think it's clever to question things and be open-minded and not blinded, others find that if they belittle people that behave that way, it makes them look and feel clever. I know some very, very clever stupid people.

  • @vanutra So what you are saying in your clever little way is that you were actualy calling me stupid and insecure. I'm wholy unimpressed.

  • @monokhem I don't think you're stupid, but even if I did, what would that matter? I'm just a stupid girl that links together increasing global disasters with the idea that it's all leading up to something massive. Not only is that stupid, it's pretty crazy, right? We are just 2, completely the opposite people & we're clashing. This could go on for ever. I didn't know I would offend you that badly so I'm going to apologize for my words I'm just silly, sorry.

    xxx

  • @vanutra You didn't offend me so badly. I was letting you know what you are doing, or at least letting you know that i know, and am unimpressed. It's like you have to include insults because I don't believe what you believe. It doesn't help. You can believe natural disasters are increasing but that is not true. The more you notice something, the more it seams like it is increasing, but the earth is expiriencing the same amount of natural disasters it has expirienced throughout human history.

  • @monokhem ... It's hard to try not to insult people that are so stupidly blind. Natural disasters are on the up in a MASSIVE WAY... if you do not know this then you are about ten years behind and I'm afraid this is an absolute waste of time even trying to point you in the right direction. How much more of an increase do you need to see!? Ok well just wait and see then, just carry on :)

  • @monokhem The fact you are looking these videos is meant to be a step up but it seems you're now just stationary and I cannot for the life of me see you progressing further in what ever time we have. Why do think think NASA have been sending out warnings to prepare? Why are there 100's of thousands of coffins stacked up in fields all over the USA? Why are there millions of seeds stored in a vault in Norway? Do you know anything?

  • @vanutra I know you are full of shit you stupid lying bitch. "a genuine question I'm not looking for an argument" my ass. Everyons that believes in 2012 are stupid and/or misinformed. Now you must be the former, because I know you've been informed. You can respond if you want to to try to defend your self or your theory but I won't be reading it or responding to you.

And stop trying to condescend to people. You aren't smart enough to pull it off. Your attempts at subtlety are like road sighns.

  • @monokhem ...I never once said I believed in 2012 :) *giggles*

"You aren't smart enough to pull it off" <--- No that's you. You're the smart one. You're REALLY smart. Maybe the smartest guy I've seen on Youtube :D Who cares if your blind and cannot see the facts, you have degrees which mean you're a very clever person. Good luck with that. I really mean it too. Good luck.

  • @monokhem If I'm full of shit DO THE RESEARCH. Stop looking at videos that are trying to cover everything up with lies. Look up what I said about the seed vaults, the coffins and the NASA video warning people to prepare. See if you weren't so busy blinding yourself, you'd be way up there with the truth. This is what I was talking about stupid clever people. That would be you. Mark my words and wait and see. IT'S COMMON SENSE & and you only know things that don't matter ...and you know it.

  • @vanutra Clearly you're open-minded. So open that your brain appears to have fallen out of your skull.

  • @MegaMalfurion Wow :-o and can you please tell me please how I'm still able to function perfectly ok without my brain, genius?

  • the sad part is, there might be a huge increase in births on September 2013 given there are enough gullible people out there.

it's absolutely pathetic and even humiliating to see our species in such a mess. we are already starting to overpopulate this planet. if there will be a surge of births on 2013, then it may hasten the destruction of our planet's resources.

i hope no extraterrestrial species are watching our activities and laughing at our stupidity. that would be immensely humiliating.

  • i think that in 2012, mankind will fulfill its own prophecy. the mayans predicted wise men will come out of the shadows and speak truth to the world. there isnt some magical force that controls prophecy. the ancient mayans called and we will respond, and awaken ourselves on our own accord... or we wont. and we'll stay on our plane until it crashes into the ground. and no i dont think the world is going to end. unless human kind is the one that ends it

  • the funny thing is that anybody thinks there is a god

  • we cant go to 2013 cause number 13 is bad luck so its then end of world in 2012.. haha!!! don't you get it people? same as buildings dont have that number 13.... woot!

  • @emailroy2002 The same way you are stuck at 12 years old?

  • Best quote, "That's just Hollywood."

I think it summed up the whole 2012 thing completely. Just a bunch of drummed up nonsense.

  • Does this mean we go straight to 2013?

  • the sun is strapping on its turbo charger. Google interstellar energy cloud

  • I love this man!

  • @1:35

They left that out of the account.

    LOL

    The best part.

    Neil Tyson's amazing!!

  • The planets can't come into "alignment" because the orbital planes are several degrees off. I can't believe people actually fall for that kind of bullshit. Good thing Neil is around to put people straight.

  • he had me crackin up!!!!! i got somthin for 2012 right here....8======D

  • i luv this guy's comments :D

  • wait.... aliens came in the movie 2012????

  • people who buy into the 2012 myth are pure nuts

  • 5 dislikes from the crazies of our great internet...

  • Haha, this guy is awesome.

  • This guy is right, nothing is supposed to happen in 2012...but by drowning people with doomsday theories something can be staged to control us...or our belief that something terrible will happen will manifest into our reality....

  • This guy is a house nigger who lives at the hayden panetarium.

  • They should hang you for being disrespectful.

  • its sad to see a gatekeeper in such a high position to poison young minds. Logic will take you from A to B, Imagination will take you everywhere!

  • If someone told you a giant dragon is going to sneak into your house and paint your feet green while you're sleeping, would you take this 'alternative knowledge' seriously? No? Well, what if they make videos about it with scary music and long sentences that sound scientific? Then will you believe it?

For the record... We don't laugh at people like you because you're presenting alternative views. We laugh at you because you're guillible morons.

  • There is no "we" with you. Idiots like you stand alone in a sea of your own ignorance. Now go follow your master.

  • There is a not-so-old-saying : it is good to be open minded, but not so open minded that your brains fall out. Imagination is one of the corner-stones of science. It guides science to explore new areas and discover new things. Part of exploration, however, is discovering dead-ends. The difference between science and conspiracy theorists is that science can recognise a dead-end, and stop wasting time. The rest just keep banging their heads against the wall.

  • @guns1linger Conspiracy theorist, or conspiracy possibility, or reality of a conspiracy? that's what so many pseudo scientist whose brains have already fallen out have forgotten to distinguish. Many gatekeep what their master has ordered and never think for themselves claiming to be open minded and attack others before really looking at themselves. What many call science is a sham. Open minded means agreeing with mainstream THEORIES. Roaches that come out of the woodwork from orthodoxy.

  • Show me your evidence. It is a simple request. Show me something that cannot be refuted.

  • It's amazing how the thoughtless have so many followers. AFRAID to think for themselves!

  • It's a bit of a coincidence that the world is going to end so close to a time when so many people believe nonsense stories (9/11 conspiracy theories, the NWO, new age science and so on).

  • go vote for bush.....again and again. that's where your minds at!

  • 2012 may not be true as far as some researchers say, but it's funny how he attacks alternative knowledge. I wouldn't expect much more from someone who has been indoctrinated by western thought. House slaves abound in their masters house spreading their thoughts never thinking for themselves. Nibiru seems very likely, more so a binary star system with our sun. Notice how he makes fun of the name by mispronunciation. A tactic used by many gatekeepers afraid of people who really think.

  • Alternative "knowledge" - begs the question fallacy.

    Mispronunciation? Red herring fallacy.

Afraid of people who really think? Ad hominem attack fallacy.

  • When I first saw Independence Day (which was made by the same Jokers who are making 2012) I was blown away. I rented ID4 again a few years later, and having matured a bit, I realized that the movie was really pretty stupid. I am sure if I were younger, I would be thrilled over this 2012 movie (and buy this astrological apocalyptic BS hook, line and sinker) Now, you couldn't pay me to sit through any more Emmerich/Devlin disaster movies (which are themselves, cinematic disasters.)

  • I heart Dr. Tyson.

  • Stichins, like hovind, is self taught. His knowledge of the sumeria is unfounded and unsupported.

Do you not find it just a little bit odd that all those books he published retail for a price, whearas the evidence (which by far outweighs him) can be found online for free?

If you are intelligent you will call bullshit on, if you are gullible, or ignorant you will believe stichins.

Btw wasnt the world also supposed to end today 09/09/09??

  • neither one of the 2 cultures talked about a 12th planet, it was Zecharia Sitchin who started this whole idea, his hypothesis did not even withstand peer review. this can be confirmed in wikipedia there you will find all the sources you need.

oh and btw where is the physical evidence for this claim? have you noticed that many of these crackpot hypotheses require magical explanations such as "E.T" and "god" or even private revelation such as visits from angels or alien abductions.

  • lol what a load of bull shit, how dose he no .

  • lol He doesn't. The planet may not come for another ten years but it's there.

  • How convenient. if it doesn't show up in 2012, you just say, "well, not this year, but one year it will". As scientists like to say "extraordinay claims requires extraordinary evidence. planet X is just fiction. No facts. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. Period.

  • haha I can already see how ignorant about maya culture people are, "oh but the mayans oh but planet x" , lazy assholes this is nothing more than modern day mythology,

superstitious people never ask for evidence they are also the first ones to reach for their wallet when someone comes offering salvation from the fictitious doomsday. hence all cults wether they be corporate or emotional

  • Lol, you got it so right man!

These people dont even know what it is they are proving, yet their ignorance is somehow their own self assurance.

Anyone with the most basic knowledge of the Mayans would know they did not foretell or record a giant planetery collision, nor did they ever believe a 12th planet existsted.

Like you say, there is always profit to be made by someone.

  • The 12th planet came from sumeria not the Mayans.

  • very true

  • thank you. remember the truth scares the zombies into thumbs downing a person because of their ignorance

  • I'm a take my chances with the ancients.

  • thumbs up!!!!! these zombies love govt and captivity, especially of the mind!!!!!!

  • HAHAHA and another one bights the dust

  • He's probably just lying for nasa.

  • you strike me as someone gullible enough to actually believe people like alex collier, michael tsarian, depak chopra and so on.. you should also take your chances with faries and demons, maybe you should also be afraid of vampires and werewolfs... wait do you also believe in ghosts?? if you do please be advised that all of these fantastic entities you probably believe in were also made up by a human culture at some point.

  • Well you strike me as one who believes in the big bang theory with no proof of it happening but condemns someone for believing in god. You strike me as the one who doesn't know nasa is ran by mason's and founded by NAZI and there original logo was NASA. Project paper clip brought the nazi's scientist over here under nasa to continue what they did under hitler.Oh and also hired disinformation agents like the one in the video. Odly enough he says we can time travel. Talk about fairy tales.

  • do most of your studies consist of looking up crackpot documentaries online and trying reconcile iron age and modern mythology with reality? if so,how can I compete with that kind of research! let's see... do the terms Redshift or Hubble's law sound familiar?

if not, I invite you to visit your nearest planetary museum or take a course on basic science because it's embarrassing to exhibit that much nihilism about topics you seem to be ignorant about.

wikipedia is not a bad place to start.

  • check my vid. Nano Tech Nazis. it crushes these gatekeepers into a real history lesson which they seem to shy away from

  • ++++++

  • what about nibiru planet x or the bible code of 2012? ooooor global warming =s

  • You don't HAVE to debunk 2012, January 1st 2013 will take care of that.

  • Isn't it strange how every doomsday cult/belief never comes true?

  • @Muthsera80 Strange? No. Comically unfortunate for those who buy into those beliefs? Yes.

  • @Muthsera80 well it isn't like the one that is finaly right is going to get to gloat about it.

  • @Muthsera80 Just imagine being into one that actually does one day. You'd feel right privileged.

  • @Muthsera80 Only takes one!

  • @TheKab112

Then why don't you contain yourself with the one that has the potential to become real. The vigilance against large asteroids. People are always preconcerned with non issues. I don't understand this.

  • @Muthsera80 Well one day they will HAVE to be right :P

  • @haerverk

As long as it's long after the human race have moved beyond the great yonder. I'm a happy camper. =)

  • @Muthsera80 That's because doomsday cults are just that.. cults. The Bible clearly states that no man knows that day or that hour. Most of the people that propagate such nonsense are believed by true Christians to be Children of the Devil, and or wolves in sheeps clothing. That's why so many people have walked away from the belief in God. It's because you have an active program designed to diminish it's value. Conspiracy you say? You bet your ass there is a conspiracy.. larger than life itself.

  • @Modelmaterial7

Yeah, go put on the tinhat and go talk somewhere else. I'm not interested.

  • @Muthsera80 Yea.. have a good day. lol, what a shame.

  • ooo I like that, nice and witty

  • @XXL2oo Yes. I'm waiting until 2013 before I can laugh at it!

  • Holy owned batman!

  • I love when anything gets debunked. It's like a little birth.

  • This guy is an astrophysicist. He can give you how much extra gravity it would generate. Its insignificant. If the alignment of the SUN plus the center is insignificant, then the alignment of ALL the rest is too .. BECAUSE the sun's gravity is SOO much greater than all the rest taken together.

  • I suggest you watch the video again. He did NOT say that all the planets will come into alignment.

  • I love how some people throw around the idea that all of the planets in our solar system will come into perfect alignment. It's impossible. I found a question that David Morrison at NASA's ~ Ask An Astrobiologist forum answered regarding all of the planets coming into perfect alignment and you could tell he was having fun with his response. Essentially he was saying the whole idea is preposterous.

  • Shut up you paranoid clown. Neil De-Grasse Tyson is a legend & know a hell of a lot more than you ever will on the subject. He's one of the leading figures in astrophysics yet you know better hey ;)

  • @FridaySternShow wow talk about not even listening to the video lmao

  • Love this guy :)

  • This dude is legit.

  • Excellent. NDT kicks ass!

  • cool....... real cool fella

  • I love this feller. Clever bloke.

  • ROFL!

  • 2012 isnt about Nibiru
