DKCR is DKC4, go to Mario or DK wikis and see for yourselves. It wouldn't be a DKC game without the Country. Besides, I think Retro Studios did great with the game than a Microsoft-owned Rare, like they did with Bano-Kazooie: Nut and Bolts, which looked absolutely horrible compaired to the first two games.

Dude, DKCR =/= DKC4

Different developers, enemies, control, graphics, music, and on a console that is 2 generations older than SNES.

DKCR wasn't meant to be a sequel, it's a separate series on its own. While still a fantastic game, it didn't have all the elements which made DKC series so lovable and memorable. DKCR doesn't suck, it's just different from the other games.

@SupaKoopaKid64 yup.. it doesnt have the donkey kong country feel.. at this point, it's almost to the point that Nintendo is in need of money, so, they made a new game on one of the biggest names in gaming history.. its great their appealing to new kids, but there are older fans who wont appreciate this as much as they did when the first one came out.. some games are better left alone.. and this is one of them... if there isnt rare working on it, then leave it be

Yeah, it's a real pity. I kinda figured they were desperate for cash when the 3DS came out. Good concept, but it needs to go to back to the lab. Just touching the controllers hurts my head.

Point being, Nintendo has taken a turn for the worst. It used to be about fun, but now they're shoving all this unnecessary crap out on the market. Even worse, "real" games are becoming obsolete. Now that I think of it, they lack the love they use to have, hence the "feel".

Exactly what I mean. I dont mind the new Zelda games and the Mario ones, same for this, but at this point of time, it's only for money. Their living off popular names, which is why we only see Zelda games or Mario, with bunch of small stuff on the side. Until the time comes for a new popular game comes out like mario, zelda and dkc did in the 90s, its not going to be the same. Its tiring to see it over and over with new storyline and how Mario is going on different adventures

Back when I was growing up, Nintendo was huge, being the only gaming item. Sega was no competition to it. Sure, Sonic was popular, but Nintendo had Goldeneye, DKC, Mario, Zelda, Banjo, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart (the time when mario and zelda were good)

Street Fighter (when that was good) Metroid, Contra and I can go on. Point is, games arent as fun as it was and the gaming industry only wants it for the money, not for gameplay and playability. Call of Duty is a example of boring

Yeah, Nintendo's joined te money grubbing that other companies are doing.

N64 and below, now that was the age of genuine gaming. That was where the fun was at. Diversity of games and challenging gameplay. One thing I personally like about the N64 are the graphics. They were advanced enough to produce 3d graphics, but all the same, looking at the screen, you could practically see the building blocks of the game.

But what what now? Shiny graphics and nothing to show for it.

Exactly.. Games will never be the same because it's always about the money. Then, it was meant for every age group and for everyone during the N64 and below. Nintendo is only making money off the same names, their handhelds are becoming gayer etc. Sony and Microsoft are going at it with exclusives and what the system can perform, while Nintendo's focus is only on newer technology. Its basically high school in the gaming world. Image is everything, in the end, noone cares

Dixie made a return in diddy kongs racing remake. But not in any other games.

She was one of my fav kongs.

To me DKC was the first of it's kind and thus was neutral in it's mood.

DKC 2 always struck me as being kinda "darker" in a way.

And DKC 3 is more playful and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Both DKC2 and 3 are awesome though.
