Cool stove! How does having a candle improve the stove as opposed to a traditional alcohol stove with no candle? Im imagining that it may be more efficient?
thanks 13fareseer13 but why keep the flame underneath going as surely once you have the jets going that would be enough ? Or why not just use the flame underneath and cut out the jets altogether ?
The candle flame is enough to vaporize the alcohol, but not enough to make out the coffee.
Without a candle, the flame jets turn off. The flames of the jets (with their calorific power), have a significantly higher power than the simple candle flame.
Hence, a caloric powerful flame is driven by a weak small flame...
@benniblueyes benni, you are so right about the stove not having enough heat with just a candle. ive tried boiling an ounce of water with a candle and all it did was steam >.>
thanks for video whats the point off heating the fuel and where did you get the coffee pot I found a very small one but I 'm still looking for a larger one. England.
i wonder if i could modify the old fondu set that I found to function like this? It has a canle just like the one in the video and a circular stand thing that looks like it'd work.
Your idea of predosed fuel capsules has to be one of your best ever! How handy and makes loading the stove in the dark so much safer. A big step forward for all of us! Sweet soundtrack.
Where'd you go? Any more Stoves in your future?

Does the candle need to be going the whole time??
1LRLRG 8 months ago
@1LRLRG
The candle was not necessary if the stove was all aluminum.
But it's of tin can and lead less heat.
The candle has to go all the time and his autonomy is about 4 hours.

Very little, almost irrelevant.

This is the a most interesting design. So would raising and lowering the candle change the size of the alcohol flame very much ?

fantastico...nn avrei mai pensato di metterci la candela sotto per provocare l evaporazione dell alcool...

I am not sure why you are doing this. Is there some specific reason why you needed to make your own stove?

Hi - you inspired me, so I recorded an espresso maker with one of my cottle stoves with a stove top espresso maker.

the preheating of the fuel pressurizes the the fuel tank... so it will shoot out the flammable vapor to be burned... no pressure no jets

If you are considering a change to your fondue set, you are at the half of the work... ;-)
The construction of what you're missing is quite simple . Good job :-)

Elegant design and artfully made alcohol stove. As always the total package including the video and music a credit to Benny, artist/craftsman.
Many thanks for all the delights I've enjoyed watching your videos.

take note the fume pressure is so strong that the flame can hardly "stick" to the nozzle/jet.
really like the idea of an alcohol catridge.
this will make out door use and carrying so much easy.
