  • hey good job man,,,,, i got one for christmas in 2007,,,this is the best hip hop machine that iv ever used...but the only thing thats bad is that it really doesn't have that many ways to export your sound and connect to a computer or mixer,,,,its only a midi in line out and auxilary outs so you can't run it into multiple machines

  • If you're looking for a hiphop-themed keyboard, I would very highly recommend getting a used Yamaha DJX II (not II B). You can't program drum beats like a drum machine, but it's a great instrument for creating songs. The (techno) videos of it on youtube don't do the DJX II justice at all.

  • thanks alot cause i really want to expand my horizons ...

  • ERRRR..., NO! If you want to get into the DJX stay away from the DJXII and DJXIIB and get your hands on the ORIGINAL YAMAHA DJX (The blue model). The DJXII is complete SHIT compared to the original. Yamaha dropped so many fucking useful things off the DJXII., like one of the MOST NEEDED FREAKING FEATURES THEY DROPPED WAS TOUCH SENSITIVE KEYS. What the hell were they thinking! Then they took away the LCD., replaced that with an LED, and gave it that totally GAY color scheme. DJXII JUST SUCKS!

  • I've never tried the DJX original - I would like to buy one. I prefer the non-touch-sensitive keys for a uniform sound for hiphop songs. But I do suck at playing keys. If you can play well, touch-sensitive would be a great benefit.

  • Trust me.., touch sensitive keys ARE nice to have in Hip Hop, but the thing you NEED is the ability to turn that feature off.., and the original DJX has this feature. You can adjust the touch sens. level on the patches. The DJXII was a complete failure. Yamaha really pissed off a lot of di-hard DJX owners when they released that model. Many held onto their cool blues and didn't buy the new model. I miss mine..., it was a blast!

  • thanks... its a really gd drum machine for the price..

  • Can you copy & paste a preset kit to the user kits & then edit, or do you have to make user kits from scratch? How are the basses? And are there 24 bass sounds plus strings & guitar, or just 24 sounds total?

  • yes you can 27luckydog,,,,this beatmachine has everything on it ready to go,,,,,,you could spen money buying a keyboard, mixer, drum machine and all the other gitgoes and spend $2000 or you could just buy the streetboxx for $200 killar ass head phones included

  • The answer is YES you can copy a preset kit to a user kit.., and then edit it to your liking. It's very simple to do. The bass sounds are ok IMO.., not the best but will get the job done. I'd suggest using the effects on the bass track to add more punch and flavor to them. There are no guitar sounds, and don't expect Korg quality string sounds either. For the money though this is the best freakin beat box under $200 on the market HANDS DOWN!

  • Sounds good. I really want to buy this drum machine too. My old Boss DR-202 is wearing out, and its' sounds are tailored more to techno, especially the snares. I need more hiphop sounds for my music. Good luck.
