Resistance has somewhat of a horror element to it. A good portion of the game is fairly "scary", likes the levels when your underground and all alone, but the game is so fun especialy the parts when you've got all these soldiers fighting with you above ground.
But realy, the game is very fun and satisfying it is definately worth buying, maybe you'd like to rent it first, and see what you think.

Yeah I agree Gears of War is an overall better game. Probably because Epic are an amazing company. But if you're looking for a game that looks as great if not greater than Gears, you should check out Mass Effect. I'm not sure if it'll attract the large audience like Gears did because its an RPG type Action game but it still looks amazing, and better than KOTOR, which was a fantastic game. One of the games I purchased a 360 for was Mass Effect.

The physics for this game is really good, seen at 00:21 with the man flying across the screen from an explosion. It would be good if there would be dodging, like in GOW, i hate run and gun games, tends to take the fun out of it, no strategy involved.

The scene where the army is charging looked cool but everything else looked gay and generic. All the enemies seemed to be ripped out of The Suffering. Actually you should compare what PS3 has to offer now to what Xbox360 has to offer. And once again 360 wins in every category. Please tell me the reason to wait an extra year to get a PS3. Blueray? In one year when MGS4 comes out I will compare Halo3 to it. And once again 360 will be beyond what PS3 has achieved. The cell processor is overhyped just like the "emotion" engine was for PS2. Too hard to program for, not as powerful as you think.

i pretty much only like this game for online multiplayer with up to 40 people. its actually better to play as chymera in online cuz they got way better guns than the humans.

The scene where the army is charging looked cool but everything else looked gay and generic. All the enemies seemed to be ripped out of The Suffering. Knowing Sony they probably pre-rendered the charging part. All the people that say this game is gonna be better than GOW need to get their heads checked. At least GOW is original...

I'm talking about the gameplay and stuff. Gears of War and Resistance:FOM essential have the same exact story when you get down to the basics (humans are overrun by alien-like creatures). GOW's gameplay is refreshing while the gameplay of Resistance essentially looks the same as any other FPS.

Looks like it has the pacing of Call of Duty 2,3 but with freaks. My only concern is the main human assualt rifle, as firing it looks bland and boring. Maybe the vid is old, I hope they fixed it.
I own an Xbox 360 BTW, and love the damn thing. I always enjoy to see what is coming out for every system though, and try to play the best games at my friends' houses'. (the ones who own different systems)

But I could say the same about gears and its darker color palette selection as well. Oh wait the played out gruff space soldier in big bulky doesnt apply here since his suit has blue headlights on it.

The fact that free 40-player online from the start., well done weapons,active enviornments, and what looks to be a well thought out storyline. I dont see a more ideal launch title.
Basing graphical fidelity off of youtube vids isnt the most logical practice either.

I agree with "Bobble" on his remark on the game failing to show many new ideas. This looks like a good title for the PS3. It obviously won't show the console to it's full potential and from my eyes - Resistance is not the IDEAL Launch game Sony needs to shut the X-block fanboys up, but it's worth buying upon release.

Ive viewed the high quality, hi res clip. The graphics engine is very well polished, looks to be a great "twich" shooter!
PS- I love my 360, but I also respect and want to play any great game on any system (including this one). One of my friends has already bought his PS3 and this game, I wanna try it at his house!

Youtube lowers the quality in order to fit the video's uploaded for veiwing. Not every video shown on youtube will give you its true visual as on a downloadable file would.

This game looks awesome, but not on this web page. I've seen downloaded videos of this game from (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/748/748483.html)and it looks like it'll kick Halo and Gears of War's butt. PS3 is the way to go. Also, people bought 360s on ebay for over 600 bucks, I don't think the price is a problem.
