I think it is a revolutionary concept....these are the ideas we need to be funding....gears could definitly be worked out to get maximum speeds, better than clean energy. I'm sure an engineer can come up with a braking system.... Hopefully we will see these come to life in my lifetime
An interesting idea. With wheels that large one could reach some pretty mean speeds; assuming that its super light. I wonder how many gears it would need to be plausible? And where you'd house them? Turning at high speeds could be dangerous, as it would most likely have a dual braking system, like a tank. Have you built a prototype yet?
@cixiblue yes it will probably go fast.:) i dont know but i think it would! The gears??? wll i Think it should be like a regular mountine bike or maybe less ! Housing ? I dont now ffor that man realy, but i know that I would test it on a airplane field :) lol Dual breackig sistem ofcourse...like you said exacly like tank ! :) And Prototype !--- No I have not , I dont have a workshop only PC and some 3d softwares :) But I am ready to work n this IDEA so I can improve it :) Thanks fr coment
Nice concept, but the mechanics need to be thought out... I've seen a motorized single wheeled machine (real and working, even had a v8 in it) maybe it could use the divetrain from that... Still the other comments hold merit...
Again, dazzling art piece in concept, completely unrealistic in reality. Between the weight and mechanics necessary to progress it up a hill, the vehicle is absurd.
Add a batter system, compensation motor and equip the wheels to function as flywheels, it could then potentially perform efficiently.
Thats what this world needs, transportation vehicles that utilize the force of the human body. A technological bicycle that needs little force to accelerate it and maintain a fast, steady speed would be perfect. Especially for health reasons. Think about it. twenty years from now, half the worlds population could be getting around on these future-istic bikes instead of cars and would be infinitely healthier than we are now. No more lame car insurance, spending money on gas.
that should be connected to some kind of power grid on the street or above like a tram car. that should be made into an airplane 30 mph average 24 hours a day 720 miles distance from ny to europe 3500 thats 5 days. would be a fun race.
Lets face it, idea's like that can chance the world. No ideas, no progres. If this idea is possible or not, maybe someone can realize this project. Look at the ideas of Jules Verne. Always stay positive, you only live ones. 8-)))
Also, a hubless wheel is much heavier and more complicated than a standard bike wheel. It requires bearings all the way around the wheel. This increases friction and weight. The more I look at this the more I find to criticize functionally. So let me say something positive.
Nice 3d modeling, and the design is interesting....
umm no, bigger wheel = require more energy to get it rotating. Otherwise the world would be able to generate more energy than what is used and there would't be any problems about all the fuels running out.
ok so good wheel placement idea, bad execution. i would go with a smaller radii on the wheels, go with recumbent style, 10ft high bikes went outta style in the 1800's. good soundtrack tho
you wouldn't see one of these in use. The torque required to spin the wheels is most likely greater or nearly as great as the amount of force it would take to just spin the cab around the axis.

the center of gravity is too high on a bike, which is why 90% of people have fallen over on a bike more than once.

in no its a innovation and not to shoot down the idea but why make this and spend all that time when the already have bikes....no offense

bigger wheels = further distance traveled per rotation = faster transport with less energy.

my thinking exactly. What does this invention do that a bicycle doesnt already do, for less energy and space?

the music sucks! the idea is fine, but suppose it is a pedal powered machine, where are them?!
Also, should have gone from project to reality, and tested it.
23011 4 years ago
looks really good, but where are the pedals? how do you keep it stabilized? what happens when you break?
if it's just for the aestethic, I've seen those on the cartoons already.
