untrue martyr, the americans marched straight through neutral territory (algeria and lybia) to blindside the germans. The germans were surrounded and outnumbered. As far as a kill to death ratio, the germans dominated especially in the air and on the ground. Then from the there the americans took quite the beating, especially when they moved on to italy. If it was me though, i wouldve placed the experienced afrikakorp into stalingrad.

Rommel had the entire British Afrika Army on the run before he received orders to not press any further, he could have easily destroyed the combined forces of both armies if given the orders to.

@TheKadski The Axis and British forces were always retreating sometimes by 500miles the desert is hudge. And Rommel didnt have the man-power and resources to destoy the british empires forces in north africa. The British had enigma and were bombing nearly all german/italian supplies. The supplies rommel did have were off captured british resources. British turned the tide at el alamein and were on the full advance after that. The British forces were just too experianced in desert warfare.

@5674nate What are you talking about? The British defeated Rommel and Axis at the battle of Al Alamein after that the Axis were on full retreat. When the Americans arrived Rommel took advantage of them because the Americans were poor lead they didnt have the experiance and there troops were struggling with the desert conditions.

Officers were not removed, but they known that they could not be rewarded with higher terms, like the prussian nobles, Hitler didnt love because he wasnt noble but noble generals were in power for their soldiers only!
