A very cleverly put together clip (esp the cuts to Tony Peluso during guitar solo/Bob Messenger - flute). Sadly, I feel this was one that Richard (gifted producer/arranger that he was) butchered somewhat. In comparison to the Anne Murray version, this arrangement comes across as excessively "flowery" & drags in places. Shame, as Karen's vocal is excellent.

I like both versions from the Carpenters and Anne Murray but between the two, this version is better based on the stirring music arrangement and voice. I have two words do describe Karen Carpenter PURE MAGIC! this is the most beautiful song I have ever heard, it makes you want to cry its so touching! WOW! This reminds me of Disney, like something a Disney princess would sing, Karen was a big Disney fan, so I think maybe she had that in mind when she did this. @shielae7 well I have been playing the piano since age 5 my teacher was from Juliard School Of Music, in NYC, so I had a wonderful teacher who taught me what real music is about, meaningful lyrics and singable melodies, music is supposed to have substance and meaning, something a lot of "SINGERS" these days don't get! its sad! I had no idea that the late great Karen Carpenter even did a version of this song until I heard it on a local nostalgia radio station. As good as Anne Murray's more well known version is, I prefer this one due to Karen's incomparable voice. No one sang like her. I miss her to this day.
